Context of Role
2wish support anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person
aged 25 and under. We are an All-Wales and part England charity providing immediate
casework support, as well as ongoing aftercare services including counselling, alternative
therapies, play therapy, support groups, support events and a respite cottage.
The post holder will provide immediate and ongoing emotional and practical support to families
affected by the sudden and unexpected death of their child or young adult.
Main Duties
1.0. Service:
1.1: To initiate immediate support for a caseload of families whose children and young people aged 0-25
have died suddenly and unexpectedly across the region
1.2: To contact all families within 24-48 hours of the referrals by telephone
1.3: Complete an initial assessment of families' needs to identify and plan the support as required in line
with safeguarding and risk reduction
1.4: Offer emotional support and advice to a case load of families through home visits and ongoing
weekly telephone calls
1.5: To liaise with the Counselling Support and Outreach Coordinator, who is responsible for organising
formal support such as counselling, complementary therapy or play therapy, subject to consent from the
bereaved individual
1.6: To work with hospital staff, GP’s, police officers, coroner offices, mental health teams and other
healthcare professionals to raise awareness of and promote referrals into the charity
1.7: To liaise with other professionals working alongside the family to provide a holistic and multi-agency
approach to support
1.8: Attend relevant forums within the area
1.9: To deliver awareness training in hospitals and other healthcare settings, schools and workplaces on
the use of the bereavement boxes, referring into the charity and bereavement awareness
1.10: To monitor the use of the memory boxes and ensure families have been offered a memory box
1.11: To work with hospital trusts to establish and maintain the upkeep of suitable bereavement suites for
bereaved individuals to use as required
1.12: Facilitate debriefs within professional settings following a traumatic or sudden death of a child or
young person
1.13: To submit monthly/quarterly/annual reports to Bereavement Services Manager as required

Experience in the following sectors often provides a robust toolkit of high-level transferable skills: Police or criminal justice roles, family liaison, counselling or trauma support, health and social care, casework in any related field

The role
Reporting to the Director of Intelligence and Prevention, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of intelligence analysts, data analysts, developers and client managers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality intelligence products that help organisations identify, understand and respond to modern slavery and human trafficking risks.
You will combine strategic oversight with hands-on leadership, overseeing intelligence products, developing new services and technologies, contributing to commercial growth and representing STOP THE TRAFFIK externally with partners and clients. Working as part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will play a key role in delivering the organisation's impact and income ambitions.
Key responsibilities
· Lead and develop STOP THE TRAFFIK's multidisciplinary Intelligence Team.
· Deliver strategic and tactical intelligence products for businesses, financial institutions and law enforcement.
· Develop and implement the organisation's intelligence strategy and structured intelligence cycle.
· Lead the continued development of the Traffik Analysis Hub (TA Hub), STOP APP and future intelligence products.
· Build and maintain strategic relationships with commercial partners and generate new business opportunities through networking, presentations and sector engagement.
· Work across the Senior Leadership Team to achieve organisational impact and income objectives.
· Ensure safeguarding, quality assurance and continuous improvement remain at the heart of intelligence delivery.
About you
You are an experienced leader from an intelligence-led environment who enjoys combining strategic thinking with operational delivery. You are comfortable managing multidisciplinary teams, developing innovative products and translating complex intelligence into meaningful insight that drives action.

As an ambassador both internally and externally, you will work collaboratively with the CEO and the wider leadership team to deliver DENS strategy and role model organisational values. With a focus on building and maintaining a strong network of external relationships, you will identify opportunities for growth and partnership working. You will be responsible for a diverse range of services in the community.

You are a strategic and visionary leader with a solid background in the homelessness sector, a deep understanding of the challenges faced by the client community, and a firm grasp of safeguarding principles. With proven line management experience, you know how to motivate teams, coach peers, and foster a collaborative, high-performing culture. You excel at building strong external partnerships with local government and funders, using your exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to influence, negotiate, and champion DENS’s strategy.
