Job description

Trees for Cities is seeking an experienced and proactive Communications Lead to drive communications for an ambitious, high-profile environmental partnership project that will help transform London's urban landscape.

Working across the Tree Equity and Urban Resilience (TEUR) project, you will lead the development and delivery of a strategic communications programme designed to increase awareness, engagement and investment in tree equity across London.

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior communications professional who thrives in partnership environments and wants to use their skills to create lasting environmental and social impact.

ABOUT TREES FOR CITIES

Trees for Cities empowers people to plant and care for trees in towns and cities, targeting places where they have the greatest impact for people, places and nature.

Through trees, we connect people to nature, enrich lives and create leafy, liveable places for today and future generations. Trees for Cities is the only UK charity operating at national scale that is solely dedicated to urban trees.

As part of our work to create greener, healthier and more resilient urban environments, we are leading communications and engagement activity for the Greater London Authority's (GLA) Tree Equity and Urban Resilience (TEUR) project.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to Trees for Cities' Engagement & Marketing Director, you will develop and implement the project's communications strategy, lead campaign delivery, create compelling content and coordinate communications across multiple stakeholder organisations.

You'll work closely with the Greater London Authority, local authorities, environmental partners and community organisations to ensure consistent messaging and effective engagement throughout the programme.

ABOUT YOU

We're looking for a strategic and hands-on communications professional with the confidence to lead complex, multi-stakeholder communications programmes.

This role offers a rare opportunity to influence how London responds to climate challenges through urban greening and community engagement. You'll work with senior stakeholders, shape an important city-wide narrative and help deliver meaningful environmental impact for communities across the capital.
