Recovery Worker

This is an exciting opportunity to make real impact within an established, award-winning, innovative voluntary sector organisation. 

Our client provides structured drug and alcohol treatment and recovery services for women, children and families affected by substance use. 

As a Recovery Worker, you will work within a specialist, trauma-informed, gender-responsive and child-centred service delivering structured interventions to support women and families to achieve positive and lasting change. 

You will work directly with women and some men (via partnerships) impacted by substance use. Your role as a Recovery Worker will include conducting assessments, providing care coordination / key work to a caseload of clients on an individual basis (face to face and over the phone) and facilitation of groups.

The women on your caseload will be experiencing problems with drugs and/or alcohol and be working towards recovery. Support will range from guidance on harm minimisation, to support reducing substance use, to (in some cases) complete abstinence. You will agree and formulate individual care plans with the clients you support to ensure the promotion of choice and independence. 

The role requires close multi-agency working, participation in safeguarding processes, and the delivery of both individual and group-based interventions. 

This is a rewarding but demanding role working with women who experiencing a range of needs, including substance use, trauma, domestic abuse, poor mental health and safeguarding concerns. 

You will: 

• Work closely with external partners and internal colleagues to manage risk and respond to safeguarding concerns confidently 
• Undertake some lone working and community-based visits 
• Maintain professional boundaries while building trusting, supportive relationships 

As your employment with our client will include working with vulnerable adults you will be required to undertake a DBS check.
