Sounds great, what will I be doing?
This role provides specialist interventions to women living in refuge with multiple needs who have experienced domestic abuse and/or sexual violence. Holding a caseload across a number of refuges providing emotional and practical support and advocacy to the women accessing the refuge.
You will build strong partnerships with a range of statutory and community organisations, including mental health services, substance misuse teams, housing providers, healthcare professionals and voluntary agencies, to ensure women can access the support they need to recover and thrive. You will lead wellbeing-focused activities across refuge services, facilitate group programmes and community meetings, and support women to engage with services, appointments and opportunities that promote confidence, independence and social inclusion.
Using Hestia's trauma-informed and psychologically informed approach, you will provide personalised assessments, safety planning and strengths-based support for women with complex needs. You will deliver crisis interventions, support women to access therapeutic, financial and housing-related support, and help them develop move-on goals that enable long-term recovery and independence. You will maintain accurate case records, uphold confidentiality and GDPR requirements, and work closely with refuge teams to share knowledge and build confidence in supporting women with multiple support needs.

About the Role

Assessment and Planning
Undertake initial assessments and contribute to identifying appropriate therapeutic support.

Multi-Agency Working
Work closely with school staff, pastoral teams, safeguarding leads, and project partners to ensure a joined-up approach to supporting young people.
Attend relevant meetings and contribute professional insight where appropriate or share relevant information with the manager to attend on your behalf.
Safeguarding and Risk Management
Maintain a thorough understanding of organisational and national safeguarding procedures and statutory responsibilities.
Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, following organisational and school policies.
Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with GDPR and professional standards.
Monitoring and Evaluation
Maintain appropriate case notes and outcome measures.
Contribute to project reporting, evaluation, and impact measurement.
Support the collection of feedback and evidence demonstrating project outcomes.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
MA Qualified Creative Arts Therapist (Art Therapist, Dramatherapist, Music Therapist, or equivalent HCPC-recognised profession).
Experience working therapeutically with children and young people.
Experience supporting individuals who have experienced trauma, adversity, or significant emotional challenges.
Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice.
Knowledge of safeguarding procedures relating to children and young people.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Desirable Experience
Experience working within schools or educational settings.
Experience delivering both individual and group therapeutic interventions.
Understanding of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and their impact on development.
Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams.
Knowledge of local support services and referral pathways.

We're working with a respected UK charity to recruit an experienced Head of Governance & Company Secretary to provide strategic governance leadership and ensure the organisation continues to meet the highest standards of compliance and best practice.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a purpose-driven organisation on a flexible, part-time basis, with the potential for the role to become permanent.
The Role
Reporting to the senior leadership team, you'll lead the organisation's governance function, providing expert advice to Trustees, the CEO and Executive Leadership Team. You'll ensure effective board operations, maintain compliance with charity and company law, and support the ongoing development of governance frameworks and risk management.
Key responsibilities include:
Acting as Company Secretary and advising on governance best practice.
Supporting Trustee meetings, including agenda planning, board papers and minute taking.
Ensuring compliance with the Charity Commission, Companies House and relevant UK charity regulations.
Maintaining statutory records and governance policies.
Managing and developing the organisation's governance framework and risk register.
Providing governance and project support to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team.
Supporting board development, trustee induction and governance improvements.
Monitoring legislative and regulatory changes, ensuring the organisation remains compliant.
About You
We're looking for someone who brings:
Proven Company Secretary and governance experience within the charity sector.
Strong knowledge of Charity Commission requirements, charity law and governance frameworks.
Experience supporting Boards of Trustees and senior leadership teams.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong communication skills and the confidence to advise senior stakeholders.
Experience of risk management and governance policy development.
