North London Hospice has been caring for local people since 1984, providing specialist palliative and end-of-life care to people with life-limiting illnesses across Barnet, Enfield and Haringey, and increasingly within Camden and Islington. Our services are completely free of charge however it now costs more than £16m a year to run our charity. We rely on the generosity of our community through donations and our shops to make up the shortfall in funding.
Role Purpose
Reporting to the Community and Events Manager, you will play a key role in growing income through community fundraising initiatives and delivering an exciting and expanding portfolio of events. This varied role combines creative promotion of fundraising opportunities, excellent supporter relationship management, and the planning and coordination of successful events. We have an exciting opportunity for a Research and Production Officer to join our team based in Central London. After several years of research and development, we launched Testimony 360 in June 2024, a digital programme for UK secondary schools that uses interactive survivor testimony and virtual reality to innovatively teach about the Holocaust. Through the programme, students can interact with a recorded testimony of a Holocaust survivor, before seeing some of the sites they experienced using virtual reality headsets, all without leaving their classroom.
The successful candidate will serve as a member of the Trust’s Programmes Team, responsible for the research, post-production, testing and maintenance of interactive recorded testimony to ensure fluency and usability in the classroom. They will also be responsible for the ethical representation and engagement with the testimonies. We are looking for an individual with experience in research, with an understanding of the sensitive use of testimony, as well as experience of data management systems and platforms used for interactive testimony. They will have the ability to quickly learn how to use new technologies and programmes. The role will involve the following:
Line management: managing and developing Build Studios and Build Workspace’s small staff team, with access to retained HR support agency. Leading annual appraisals and regular 1:1s.
Governance : managing the annual cadence of quarterly board meetings, AGM and associated companies house and charity commission filing, liaising closely with the boards of directors of both companies.
Business Planning: annual business planning, working with the board, staff team and other stakeholders to develop an ambitious annual plan in line with Build Studios five year strategic plan.
Budgeting and financial management: production of annual budget, working closely with the Treasurer and Chairs of Build Studios and Build Workspace; quarterly monitoring of financial performance in liaison with accountants; day to day management of project budgets and payments.
Fundraising: Leading fundraising bids with relevant grant funding bodies, developing new programmes in line with their (and Build Studios’) strategic priorities. Approaching sponsors for financial support, making a compelling case for investment.
Project management: Taking a lead role in managing projects, ensuring delivery, reporting and impact measurement are conducted in line with funder requirements and our own standards.
Communications and marketing: Supporting the team with delivering strong communications and marketing through our various channels (website, LinkedIn, Instagram, newsletters). The Role
The Senior Programme Coordinator will support the development and delivery of SEO London’s apprenticeship programmes.
The post holder will develop a strong understanding of SEO London’s programmes, the industries we support and the needs of our students and partner organisations.They will use this knowledge to deliver projects, respond to stakeholder needs and provide a professional and supportive participant experience.
The role has three core areas of focus:

Direct experience within the apprenticeships sector is desirable but not essential.

Young people services
Providing comprehensive support through 1-1 and small group work with young people sleeping rough. This will include:
Working within the Rough Sleeping team to ensure young people receive a high-quality service from the point of registration to move-on.
Carrying out at least two street-based outreach shifts each week (early morning and late evening required).
Carrying out housing assessments with young people and referring them into appropriate accommodation.
Managing a transitional case load of young people and helping them move forward and access appropriate services.
Working in partnership with the Outreach Team and other external teams, such as commissioned street outreach services, mental health, and substance misuse services.
Providing expert coaching and guidance to young people and monitoring and evaluating their progress.
Continued use of feedback and showing a commitment to a service that is sensitive and responsive to young people’s needs, including:
· Completing registrations, outcomes assessments, risk assessments and action plans with young people.
· Ensuring that all relevant work is recorded on the New Horizon database system and Chain database.
