Student Outreach Officer

Part time (17.5 hrs/wk), permanent

Split place of work between Horizons (Reading, Berkshire) and Home

Salary £12,000 to £13,000 pa (£24,000 to £26,000 FTE) plus benefits

We are seeking a motivated Student Outreach Officer to play a pivotal role in widening participation, driving social mobility, and supporting inclusive access to higher education.

You will have the opportunity to be involved in the design, coordination and delivery of exciting outreach activities that encourage learners from all backgrounds to explore higher education and discover career opportunities within the built environment sector.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone looking to make a real difference, providing advice and guidance that empowers prospective students to make informed decisions about their future.

Your accountabilities and responsibilities include:

  • Develop, coordinate and deliver a range of outreach activities
  • Support the recruitment, training, supervision and development of Student Ambassadors involved in outreach activities
  • Ensure appropriate risk assessments are undertaken for outreach activities
  • Use insight and evaluation findings to inform future programme development and continuous improvement

Our main requirements:

  • Experience working with schools, colleges, young people or community organisations
  • Experience monitoring activities and maintaining accurate records
  • Ability to engage and motivate young people from diverse backgrounds
  • Commitment to excellent customer service
