Thrombosis UK is the UK’s leading thrombosis charity, working to improve awareness, prevention and support for people affected by blood clots.
As part of our new organisational strategy, we are launching a major programme focused on raising awareness of blood clot (VTE) risk during pregnancy and the postpartum period. This programme will combine public awareness, healthcare professional engagement, patient advocacy and policy influence to improve understanding, encourage earlier action and contribute to longer-term system change.
We are seeking an experienced freelance communications professional to work alongside our team to help shape and deliver this programme.
The opportunity
This is not a traditional PR brief. We are looking for someone who can think strategically while also delivering practical communications activity across multiple channels.
The consultant will work alongside Thrombosis UK staff who already deliver digital communications, social media, volunteer engagement and patient support. The role is to provide strategic communications expertise, lead specialist campaign activity and build the team's capacity, rather than replace existing internal functions.
The successful consultant will help us develop and implement an integrated campaign that includes:
· Public awareness campaigns
· Media relations and press activity
· Digital communications and content planning
· Website content and user journeys
· Stakeholder communications
· Support for public affairs and parliamentary engagement
· Campaign evaluation and learning
The consultant will work closely with our Chief Executive and wider team, bringing specialist campaign expertise that complements our existing clinical knowledge and patient support work.

- Developing a holistic plan of support working with others and be able to personally deliver aspects of this support including practical tasks. This could include but is not limited to information & advice, moving furniture, preparing the home for discharge, shopping and organising transport. This will involve working directly in the homes of clients.
- Recording all referrals, actions, progress and data via a CRM / database.

Objectives of Service
The overall purpose of Barnardo's Early Help Autism Team is to support children with Autism (or in the process of an autism assessment being undertaken) and their parent/carer.
The service aims to enable families and young people with autism to better understand the diagnosis and develop strategies to manage behaviour. All services are developed in partnership with parent, carer and the children themselves.
The post holder will work under supervision to provide short-term home-based autism programmes to children with an autism diagnosis or undergoing an assessment for autism, their parents/carers/siblings, in order to enhance carer's skills and abilities and thus improve family functioning.

DreamArts fuses arts and therapeutic practice to support wellbeing. Our acclaimed EXPERIMENT Juniors programme engages 6-12 year olds to explore and unleash their talents, try things out, express themselves and grow their skills.

EXPERIMENT takes place on a Saturday in South Westminster and on Sundays in Church Street plus some special projects during school holidays. The majority of participants are eligible for free school meals and live in some of London’s most deprived areas.
We are looking for a Wellbeing Practitioner for our Sunday group who is able to inspire and support young people, in particular those who may struggle in group settings. You must be passionate about engaging participants from marginalised communities and committed to support wellbeing through the arts. You will help young people participate in creative sessions that provide opportunities to explore their challenges, build a sense of belonging with peers and strengthen their emotional wellbeing.
Working alongside creative facilitators, the Wellbeing Practitioner will focus on identifying and removing barriers to participation, identifying appropriate support that responds to emerging needs and creates a sense of community.

As Volunteer Engagement Partner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of volunteering across our charity, ensuring that volunteering remains a vibrant, inclusive and rewarding experience for everyone involved. You will lead the development and delivery of an ambitious volunteer strategy, growing both the scale and impact of volunteering while creating opportunities for people to make a meaningful difference within their communities. This is an exciting opportunity to champion the volunteer voice, build strong relationships across the organisation and wider community, and develop innovative approaches to attracting, engaging, supporting and recognising volunteers. Working in partnership with colleagues from all areas of the hospice, you will help ensure our volunteers are equipped, empowered and valued as an integral part of our workforce and culture.

Based at our Head Office in St Austell with frequent travel across our county.
37.5 hours per week, worked flexibly over evenings and weekends, as required.
