About the role
We’re looking for a Senior Growth Manager to lead our work to grow Scouting across England, helping more young people take part and ensuring volunteers are supported to deliver great experiences.
Working closely with national and local volunteers, you’ll lead a regional team focused on increasing volunteer capacity, opening more places for young people and reducing waiting lists. This is a senior leadership role with real influence, responsibility and impact.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Team: Delivery, England North East - Active Journeys
As the Project Assistant, you will play a key supportive role in the Birtley Active Travel Centre, with a particular focus on cycling-related activities.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Coordinating and supporting cycling sessions, guided rides, and other cycling engagement initiatives for people of all backgrounds and cycling abilities
- Supporting community engagement activities, including:
- administration of events
- communication with internal and external stakeholders and volunteers
- Data analysis and/or reporting
This role is ideal for someone who would enjoy getting outdoors and active and are keen to help other people do the same. You would have an interest in cycling, and be willing to participate in relevant cycling proficiency and ride leadership training.

About the Role
This is a dynamic and rewarding role at the heart of the Fundraising Team, where you’ll help generate over £1.4 million each year to keep the Youth Zone running. You’ll lead on writing compelling bids and funding proposals that unlock both unrestricted income and targeted project support – from mental health to employability to sports and creative programmes.
You’ll have access to a wealth of impact data, real stories, and a ready-made case for support and you’ll be encouraged to bring your creativity, energy and ambition to every application. You’ll collaborate with an experienced, passionate team and be supported by the Head of Fundraising & Communications, the CEO, and a dedicated Board of Trustees who believe deeply in what we do.
About You
You’ll need to be a strong communicator and natural storyteller, someone who can clearly articulate why Youth Zones matter and inspire funders to get behind the charity.
You will have experience of:
- Writing successful funding applications or proposals, ideally in the voluntary or public sector, securing four- and five-figure gifts from trusts, foundations, or statutory sources.
- Managing a fundraising pipeline or prospect list, from initial research through to application and stewardship, using a CRM system such as Salesforce to track progress and outcomes
- Collaborating across teams, particularly with delivery, finance, or impact colleagues, to gather information and develop compelling bids grounded in real-world delivery.
- Producing high-quality donor reports, meeting deadlines and exceeding expectations through clear narrative, data, and case studies.
- Representing an organisation externally, such as at funder meetings, events, or presentations, with confidence and professionalism

About the Organisation
This is a brand-new locally run youth charity, set to provide thousands of young people with the opportunity to have fun, make new friends, try something new and feel safe. About the role

JOB PURPOSE
To lead on the case management of clients and be part of a team that supports them in keeping them safe and helping them achieve their goals.
To provide people with homes and specialist support so they feel more valued and secure, and ready to take the next steps
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

To assess the needs of each client, helping to develop their individual support plan to achieve their goals

To produce and regularly review comprehensive client-based risk assessments

To manage a caseload of clients on a one-to-one basis, providing personalised, intensive support via assertive outreach to long-term rough sleepers in the local area

To engage with local authorities, health providers and other agencies, creating and maintaining constructive working relationships to maximise the opportunities available to clients

To work with individuals to create clear housing plans, and to support individuals to access support services around health and wellbeing, money, benefits and housing

To engage and support rough sleepers on the street working alongside local health care teams

To help keep clients safe by reducing their contact with police and emergency services

To identify barriers to accessing maintain safe tenancies and prevent eviction

To attend community meetings and presentations with managers to support additional funding

To support clients in trauma informed and psychologically informed ways

- Building supportive, trusting relationships with customers and creating a positive atmosphere
- Carrying out holistic assessments of new customers which incorporate relevant statutory referral information
- Conducting regular key work sessions that are innovative and engaging in order to achieve Support Plan goals
- Create support plans for providing appropriate services based on on-going assessment and reflecting the services and resources available to enable customer to progress in their recovery

You will provide high‑quality, recovery‑focused support to people experiencing mental health crisis, including crisis de‑escalation, while contributing to the day‑to‑day leadership of the service. You'll work alongside service users throughout their time with us, empowering them to build the skills and confidence they need to manage independently.
Alongside your own caseload, you will guide and support staff, lead shifts when required, and contribute to the development of students and volunteers. All work will be delivered in line with our organisational values, safeguarding responsibilities, and the ethos of recovery and co‑production.
