Our vision is for a thriving VCSE sector in Nottingham that improves the quality of people’s lives across the city.

As Systems and Data Manager, you’ll play a key role in helping us deliver this vision. You’ll lead the implementation and development of the Plinth Community Data Platform, strengthen organisational reporting and insight, and ensure that NCVS’s digital systems, data and information are managed effectively, securely and strategically.

The role will require someone who can assess our current systems and processes quickly, identify priorities and risks, and translate this understanding into a practical implementation plan for the new platform.

About the job

This role is funded by the Crisis Resilience Fund as part of Community Resilience Infrastructure initially to March 2029.

You’ll be an experienced systems and data professional with a proven track record of designing, configuring, implementing or significantly improving CRM and other digital systems. You’ll be confident working across technical, operational and organisational issues, and able to become effective quickly in a new environment. You will need to demonstrate substantial, recent and hands-on experience of delivering systems projects, managing data and supporting users.

You’ll be someone who:

  • Works proactively and independently, taking a practical and solution-focused approach
  • Builds trusted relationships and gets on well with people across an organisation and the wider sector
  • Communicates clearly with a wide range of people and can explain systems and information in an accessible way
  • Is committed to NCVS’s values and objectives
  • Is committed to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility
  • Values continuous improvement, innovation and organisational learning
  • Can support colleagues to make effective use of systems, data and digital tools
  • Understands the importance of accurate, secure, accessible and well-managed information

Key responsibilities:

The postholder will:

  • Lead the strategic development and effective use of NCVS’s digital systems, data and information
  • Implement and develop the Plinth Community Data Platform
  • Lead data governance across NCVS, including the effective management of the CRM, website and Microsoft 365 environment
  • Ensure data, systems and digital tools are accessible, accurate, secure and fit for purpose
  • Develop and embed systems and processes that support organisational learning, knowledge management, reporting and decision-making
  • Help colleagues use data to demonstrate impact, understand insight and improve organisational effectiveness
  • Support stakeholder engagement and the wider communications strategy through the effective use of systems and information
  • Explore and support the appropriate adoption of digital innovation, automation and AI-enabled approaches
