NST Regional Safeguarding Leads are members of the National Safeguarding Team (NST), working to support safeguarding practice in dioceses and cathedrals across the Church of England. This post will be responsible for the North West region, covering the dioceses of Manchester, Liverpool, Carlisle, Sodor & Man, Blackburn & Chester.
This post supports the development of best safeguarding practice in the North West regional cluster of Diocesan Boards of Finance (DBFs) and cathedrals.
The Regional Safeguarding Lead (RSL) provides professional supervision and quality assurance to Safeguarding Officers working in DBFs and cathedrals in their region. The RSL supports the ongoing implementation of the National Safeguarding Standards to encourage consistency of practice and support Church bodies to respond to the findings of the Independent Safeguarding Audit Programme.
The RSL will continue to embed the North West Regional Safeguarding Networks, facilitating the sharing of best practice and resources, group supervision, and the commissioning of joint initiatives between Church bodies.
The RSL is required to work closely with senior managers, senior clergy and other stakeholders in these bodies, representing the NST at the local level. The RSLs work closely as a team and with other colleagues in the NST to ensure Church wide consistency in approach.
Please note: The post involves extensive travel across the North West region, travel to London at least once a month, and to other areas for NST events. This post will be responsible for the North West region, covering the dioceses of Manchester, Liverpool, Carlisle, Sodor & Man, Blackburn & Chester.

Experience as a case worker leading in cases involving the protection and safeguarding of children and/or vulnerable adults.
Up-to-date knowledge of research and evidence-based practice models relevant to safeguarding
Experience of providing professional supervision in respect of safeguarding
Experience in working at a strategic level, at least at the middle manager level, influencing decision-making and implementation
Expertise in working with and engaging victims and survivors
Experience of leading organisation change and development, including cultural change, that results in improved outcomes for relevant stakeholders
Experience of working with statutory and non-statutory organisations in managing safeguarding allegations and assessing risk.
It is desirable that you have experience of safeguarding within a church context, alongside prior experience as a Diocesan Safeguarding Officer or Cathedral Safeguarding Officer.

This role forms part of Southwark’s commissioned Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) and Domestic Abuse (DA) service, delivered through a consortium partnership led by Bede.

Programme Delivery & Coordination
• Support the delivery of 1:1 interventions in line with agreed referral pathways and safeguarding procedures, working within Bede systems and processes.
• Deliver structured group programmes, supporting the delivery of established programme materials and content.
• Adapt and update existing session materials as needed to ensure they remain age-appropriate, relevant, and responsive to participant needs, in collaboration with Bede colleagues.
• Deliver sessions focused on wellbeing, resilience, safety, and healthy relationships in line with agreed programme outcomes.

Service Development & Quality
The post holder will support the ongoing development and quality assurance of the programme, working within Bede’s systems and under the guidance of Bede managers and consortium partners.

Purpose of the role
To work with other members of the MASH team to achieve the following outcomes:
Using a gender and trauma-informed approach, the Outreach & Engagement Worker will deliver 2-4 daytime outreach sessions per week in Manchester alongside partners, colleagues and volunteers. They will also attend the Street Engagement Hub weekly to provide specialist support to women attending this multi-agency hub. The role
The Domestic Abuse Team Service Manager will act as a lead professional for Talk, Listen, Change in Manchester and Greater Manchester. This role will be to lead a diverse team of Adult / Children & Young People’s Practitioners to continue the development of a range of domestic abuse services including those focused on prevention, early intervention, behaviour change, services for victims, perpetrators and children and young people. Additionally, the role will involve building key relationships with partner agencies, local authorities and commissioners and managing contracts.

Through victim support, research, community engagement and policy influence, they work to challenge Islamophobia and create lasting change. As the Trust expands its national reach, they are strengthening the senior leadership team to increase its impact, deepen the evidence base and ensure the voices and experiences of Muslim communities are reflected in both public policy and service delivery. This is a brand new position for the trust which will focus on building and developing relationships with Muslim communities across the UK, ensuring that community voice, needs and experience shape everything they do. The Head of Community Engagement and Outreach will develop and deliver a national community engagement strategy, prioritising areas of greatest need, building and sustaining relationships with mosques, community organisations, faith networks and grassroots groups across the UK. You will design and deliver outreach programmes that raise awareness of the trust's support services, build trust with communities and will grow their network of volunteers and ambassadors. You will also lead on the design and delivery of training programmes, delivered to a range of external partners, covering a range of important topics including community resilience, reporting a hate crime, and wellbeing support.
To apply for this multifaceted role, you will have significant experience of community engagement, outreach or partnership development, ideally within the charity, faith or public sector. You will have excellent relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage community leaders, statutory partners and volunteers and will possess sound judgement, integrity and sensitivity when dealing with confidential information, delicate issues and vulnerable individuals. You will also have experience of designing and delivering tailored training programmes to diverse audiences, including community groups and institutional partners. A strong understanding of the issues facing Muslim communities in the UK, and the barriers to reporting hate crime is essential.

The successful fundraiser will be enthusiastic and will enjoy a varied role, working across many areas of fundraising – from organising key events such as our Gala Dinner and recruiting regular donors, to accepting cheques at community events and creating emotionally engaging appeals. The Fundraising Lead will work alongside our marketing communications function to improve our current and potential donor's supporter journey, which covers everything from impactful corporate presentations to personalised supporter thank yous.
It is crucial the Fundraising Lead can develop and nurture long-term relationships, particularly with businesses, local groups and individuals in the local area to help with raising awareness and engage the whole group or workforce in our work.
