Knowledge and Experience:

My role is a part-time Finance Officer, 3 days per week. This is a varied role, duties will include:
- Accounts payable and staff expenses
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations for all bank accounts and investigate discrepancies.- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations- Reconcile key balance sheet accounts, including suspense accounts- Download and post monthly credit card statements to financial system - Review and process credit card claims on financial system - Process weekly staff expenses for payment- Set up new employee vendor accounts - Run the weekly payrolls at least once per month and cover payroll runs when the Payroll Manager is on leave- Assist the Payroll Manager with ad hoc payroll tasks- Ensure payroll processes are compliant and all data is accurate and up to date.- General ledger & month-end tasks- Prepare journals for depreciation - Support preparation of monthly cashflow reporting

We are seeking a high-performing, experienced, and self-directed compliance professional to provide maternity cover within the Grants, Contracts & Compliance (GCC) department.

This role requires someone who operates with excellence, independence, and sound judgement from day one—a person who is confident navigating complex donor rules, shaping risk‑mitigation strategies, and leading award management processes without needing extensive onboarding. We are seeking an experienced practitioner with proven applied experience, rather than a purely theoretical background.

You will oversee the full lifecycle of European donor‑funded awards, ensuring rigorous contractual and regulatory compliance across Internews. Working closely with colleagues across Programmes, Finance, and Global Development, you will help maintain a culture where doing things right is prioritised over shortcuts.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise with major European donors (European Commission, Sida, FCDO), a proactive mindset, and the ability to lead, train, and influence teams across the organisation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, with other duties upon request: 

Compliance

· Review and approve proposal budgets for assigned funding opportunities.

· Review donor agreements and ensure terms are acceptable; support the Director of GCC in strengthening organisational risk‑mitigation practices.

· Advise staff on Internews’ internal and donor rules across the project cycle.

· Work with Programme Officers and cross-functional teams on effective project start‑up, including inductions, adapting award procedures/templates, and ongoing staff training; conduct country visits when required.

Development

· At proposal stage, review and approve teaming agreements and NDAs with bid partners.

· Coordinate pre‑award due diligence for prospective donors.

· Review and negotiate donor agreements and modifications, managing associated risks.

· Establish and maintain proposal, award, and contract records within the award management system, including significant data entry.

Procurement Management

· Advise staff on procurement requirements and maintain internal records for procurements under awards.

· Support development of compliant procurement plans.

· Lead and administer higher‑value procurements, including negotiating contractor terms.

· Draft and execute sub‑contracts and amendments in full compliance with donor and Internews policies.

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant relevant experience
• Demonstrable experience in a Financial Controller or similar role within a complex organisation
• Experience preparing statutory accounts within the charity / not-for-profit sector
• Experience managing external audits and working closely with auditors
• Strong financial control and balance sheet management experience
• Experience leading or supporting finance system implementation or process improvement
• Proven line management experience and ability to develop teams
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders

This role will be based at Alexandra Palace with regular on-site presence required to support collaboration across the organisation.

Location: Bermondsey, Close to Surrey Quays station. Please note that this service has step free and lift access. 

Salary: £30,400

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday between 09:00 - 17:00. You may be required to work outside these hours dependent on service and resident requirements.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a new community based service supporting offenders as they transition from prison back into the community; rather than a custodial setting, where residents are able to go out into the community depending on their licence restrictions. As our Housing Lead, you play a vital role in supporting residents futures by working closely with housing stakeholders and residents to create tailored, effective move on plans. You help ensure people have the right tools, support and opportunities to rebuild their lives, reconnect with the community and move forward with confidence in their rehabilitation journey.

Some Key Responsibilities include:

• Act as the main point of contact between landlords, housing associations, local authorities, private landlords, wider Social Interest Group Services, and our residents
• Work with the wider team to support residents with their long term needs
• Provide specialist support to the wider team to ensure they are regularly trained and kept up to date with policies and procedures, including government changes
• Provide regular reports and updates
• Manage current resident tenancies, ensuring timely rent payment
• Support with property and building management and maintenance including scheduling repairs

About You

We're looking for someone who has knowledge on different types of tenancies, an understanding of the types of needs of our resident group, and able to provide tailored solutions to meet their long term goals. You will have a true passion to support in making a change, supporting rehabilitation, and providing opportunities to people to make positive changes to their lives, and reintegrate into society. You will have a general understanding of the criminal justice system, and/or have experience supporting people with multiple/complex needs. Further, you will have:

• Previous experience in coordinating/delivering activities and interventions with people from different backgrounds
• Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds and/or a good understanding of the sector
• Knowledge of risk management and risk assessment
• Knowledge of license conditions and public protection
• Knowledge of tenancy management, able to share knowledge with others in the team and residents
• Understanding of the housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs
• The ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral. Ability to form and build effective relationships and rapport with others
• Ability to influence and negotiate positive outcomes with others; Proactive in making decisions
• Ability and willingness to show flexibility of working patterns, responding to the needs of the service and residents

 Key responsibilities of the Senior Fundraising Manager?

Strategic Leadership & Income Generation

• Follow the fundraising strategy, developing and executing annual plans to achieve revenue targets and diversify income streams.
• Oversee the growth of Individual Giving, Regular Giving, and In Memory Giving, and Community Fundraising initiatives.
• Design and implement targeted fundraising campaigns, leveraging insights and KPIs to maximise donor engagement and income.
• Promote fundraising opportunities across community networks, digital channels, individual giving portals, and public platforms.

2. Team Leadership & Management

• Manage and inspire a team of fundraising professionals, ensuring objectives, 1:1s, and appraisals are delivered in line with HR policy.
• Develop clear annual training, time management, and support plans for staff and volunteers.
• Provide day-to-day leadership to ensure high performance, accountability, and a collaborative working culture.

3. Volunteer Programme Oversight

• Oversee the ongoing development of the Hospice volunteer programme alongside the Volunteer Executive, ensuring effective recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention.
• Work directly with clinical teams to align volunteer support with operational needs, guaranteeing smooth running of hospice activities.
• Ensure all volunteers receive regular feedback and adhere to health and safety requirements.
• Maintain and develop the programme in line with Investing in Volunteers standards.

4. Donor Relations & Stakeholder Engagement

• Cultivate, steward, and strengthen long-term relationships with key donors, sponsors, community partners, and supporters.
• Support the delivery of fundraising events such as community fairs, and photography competitions, attracting large public support. Support the team during gala dinners and garden parties. Oversee the Events Executive in all areas of their role.
• Enhance the Hospice’s visibility and supporter engagement through partnership building and community presence.

5. Data, Finance & Compliance

• Ensure all donor and volunteer records are held and maintained under GDPR and internal data protection regulations.

• At least 3 years’ experience in the fundraising sector
• Experience in managing volunteers and/ or a team of employees with ability to motivate
• Experience in Community/ event fundraising
• Experience with an individual/ regular giving programme

• Proven experience of identifying and responding to external opportunities and an ability to translate into plans of action
