As a Professional Adviser for the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), you can achieve this and more. You will be a UK-resident, have recent or current experience of working within the health system in Northern Ireland, and ideally be based in, or within easy travelling distance of Northern Ireland to meet the requirements of the role and engage in member-facing activity.

This is a totally different role where you will use your professional knowledge, skills and experience, working with the physiotherapy workforce and other stakeholders across the UK to improve and transform practice and service delivery. You will have a specific focus on strengthening our professional activities within Northern Ireland. You will work with colleagues across the CSP to develop resources and approaches that will facilitate and empower members to demonstrate the impact and value of physiotherapy to the populations they serve.

This role has both national and regional responsibilities. You will play a key role in the progression and delivery of innovative national projects and lead specific areas of work related to our strategic objectives, with an emphasis on activities from a Northern Irish perspective. In collaboration with national stakeholders, you will play an active role in identifying and influencing developing policy, looking for opportunities to enhance service provision and improve patient outcomes and experience through better provision of physiotherapy.

The CSP has a network of regional and country teams across the UK to support our members wherever they live, work or study.  You will join a country multi-disciplinary team with CSP colleagues from policy, communications and the trade union to develop robust networks and engage members. This role therefore requires excellent communication, influencing and networking skills to enable members to understand, evidence and articulate the value and impact of physiotherapy to influence local decision-making.

It doesn’t stop there. You will be part of a team of professional advisers who provide peer support and a professional advice service to CSP members. There are numerous development opportunities to work as part of other corporate teams, giving you access to a range of experiences such as lobbying government, influencing press and media coverage and working with local physiotherapy services to shape commissioning strategies and decisions.

About the role

As the Chief Operating Officer (COO) you will be forming a partnership with the CEO to lead 500k.

As COO you will have a prominent role in creating and achieving our annual growth plan. The current set-up of our team is that all our 17 paid staff are in India. Our 3 UK staff, (including the CEO) work for 500k bivocationally and are not paid. They work at FTEs of 70%, 20% and 15%. This arrangement has been reached through the outworking of our values of radical generosity, radical dependence on the Lord, and seeking to maximally empower our Indian team.

For the last 18 months we have been discerning whether to scale our current arrangement (with more bivocational or support-raising staff in the West) or whether to switch to a salaried model for our UK team. 

We desire the new COO to be a part of this discernment process. You should be open to the options of fully or partially support-raising your own salary, or working bivocationally, alongside the option of being salaried by 500k. Having said that, we are committed to landing on a clear plan with you prior to your commencement in the role. A full time role is preferable, but we are open for your commitment to 500k being FTE 70% or more, particularly if the bivocational option is being pursued.

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Database and Insights Officer to take ownership of myaware’s CRM system (Raiser’s Edge) and ensure our database is accurate, compliant, and fully utilised across the organisation.

This is a pivotal role, acting as the main point of contact for all internal CRM users and our external CRM system provider. As a database super user, you will manage system settings, user access, data integrity and development, while providing expert support, guidance and training to colleagues.

Working closely with the CEO, the myaware management team and colleagues across the organisation, you will ensure the CRM system supports fundraising, communications, campaigns and wider organisational insight. You will also play a key role in identifying opportunities for system improvement, upgrades and best practice. The role will require occasional working at Derby HQ and travel for meetings.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for a confident and detail-oriented CRM professional with strong technical expertise and the ability to communicate clearly with non-technical users.

You will be highly organised, solutions-focused and comfortable taking ownership of a complex database system. You enjoy supporting others, improving processes and using data to make a meaningful impact.

 You will ideally have:

• Proven experience managing a CRM system, ideally Raiser’s Edge or a similar database.

Myaware is the only charity in the UK dedicated solely to the care and support of people affected by myasthenia. 

We are working hard to raise awareness of myasthenia, as it is a little-known condition. We provide support for people with myasthenia and their families, whilst offering advice and tips for living with the condition. 

We also fund the research that brings us closer to finding a cure as well as funding specialists nurses and advisors.

The myasthenias are a group of neuromuscular conditions. They are rare but also manageable and can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender or nationality. Myasthenia gravis, ocular myasthenia and Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome are autoimmune conditions whereas congenital myasthenic syndrome is caused by an inherited genetic fault. It is thought that there are approximately 20,000 people currently living with myasthenia in the UK.

The role

As Manager of Philanthropic Giving, you will lead myaware’s trusts, foundations and high-value philanthropy fundraising, driving sustainable income growth through a strong and well-managed funding pipeline. You will shape and deliver strategies to secure both restricted and unrestricted income, manage the full bid lifecycle, and build long-term relationships with trusts, statutory funders and high-net-worth individuals.

Working closely with the CEO, senior leadership and trustees, you will develop compelling funding propositions, steward funders through excellent reporting and engagement, and represent myaware at meetings, events and networking opportunities. You will also maintain accurate records through our CRM system, track performance against targets, and contribute to income planning and reporting. This is a strategic and hands-on role with real impact for people affected by myasthenia.

The Manager of Philanthropic Giving will be predominantly home based within the UK (with occasional working and meetings at Derby HQ) and will work in co-operation with the fundraising team and all myaware colleagues to deliver agreed fundraising targets and campaigns. Own transport is essential for this role as occasional travel throughout the UK will be required to attend donor meetings, events and networking opportunities, as well as the ability to travel to the Derby office. There may be the need to occasionally work during weekends and evenings and therefore there is a need to work flexibly when required.

Who are we?

Myaware is the only charity in the UK dedicated solely to the care and support of people affected by myasthenia. 

We are working hard to raise awareness of myasthenia, as it is a little-known condition. We provide support for people with myasthenia and their families, whilst offering advice and tips for living with the condition. 

We also fund the research that brings us closer to finding a cure as well as funding specialists nurses and advisors. 

Members of myaware have full access to a wide range of support services and events including our specialist benefits and welfare advisor. 

Myaware supports people with myasthenia and their families.  We campaign for better medical services for people with myasthenia and work to inform medical professionals. 

The myasthenias are a group of neuromuscular conditions. They are rare but also manageable and can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender or nationality. Myasthenia gravis, ocular myasthenia and Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome are autoimmune conditions whereas congenital myasthenic syndrome is caused by an inherited genetic fault. It is thought that there are approximately 20,000 people currently living with myasthenia in the UK.

Provide advocacy and active case support remotely and in person to clients in England and Wales, and their representatives throughout the appeal and complaint processes, and occassionally assessments. This will include periodic travel to assessments and appeal meetings across England and Wales (including overnight stays where necessary), as well as attending virtual meetings via videoconference.Please note: most meetings are now completed virtually via videoconference, however a small number of in-person meetings are still taking place. Applicants will need to be comfortable working from home for long periods as well as with periodic long-distance travel.
4. To keep informed of issues, policies, guidance and legislation affecting clients ensuring that the information provided is relevant, current, complete and accurate.
5. To analytically examine all relevant health and social care records and assessments, and to prepare detailed advisory letters and appeal statements based upon a sound understanding of the facts, and referencing evidence compiled from such records.
6. To assist clients in the preparation of submissions which will be presented on their behalf to relevant Integrated Care Boards and NHS England review and/or appeal panels.

What you’ll do

• Lead or support the development, innovation and delivery of fundraising products
• Manage the fulfilment and end-to-end delivery of products across the organisation
• Create and maintain product performance reports and financial models
• Contribute to product development roadmaps, business cases and strategic papers
• Work with suppliers, external partners and internal teams to ensure high-quality delivery
• Provide insight through research on sector trends and comparable organisations
• Support budget management, including raising purchase orders and processing invoices
• Promote best practice and share specialist knowledge across teams
• Work cross-functionally to maximise fundraising outcomes
• Support campaigns that promote products to new and existing supporters

What you’ll bring

• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly and persuasively
• Confidence presenting updates, ideas and pitches to a range of audiences
• Ability to analyse, interpret and communicate numerical and financial data
• Strong time management skills, with experience managing competing deadlines
• Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Creative and innovative problem-solving skills
• Experience in a customer-focused environment such as fundraising, sales or marketing
• Proficiency in Windows-based software including word processing, spreadsheets and email
• A commitment to high-quality service delivery and a flexible, collaborative approach

What we offer

• Salary: £34,582 – £36,120
• Plus either:£3,366 London weighting (for hybrid London workers), or £500 Home Working Allowance (for remote workers)
• Flexible hybrid or fully remote working options within the UK
