To continue growing our impact, we're looking for an experienced Prospect Research Manager to lead and develop our prospect research function within the Philanthropy and Partnerships team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of fundraising by identifying and qualifying high-value prospects, providing strategic insight, and ensuring our fundraising teams have the intelligence they need to build lasting relationships with donors, corporate partners, and trusts and foundations.

Working as part of the Fundraising, Brand and Communications Directorate, you'll develop a strategic roadmap for prospect research, oversee due diligence to help protect the charity's reputation, and work closely with colleagues across fundraising and data to maximise the potential of our Microsoft 365 CRM. Your expertise will help drive sustainable income growth while ensuring our data, processes, and practices meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and data protection.

About You 

You'll be an experienced and strategic prospect research professional with a strong understanding of how insight, data, and relationship-building can support successful fundraising. You'll combine excellent research skills with a proactive approach, using your expertise to identify opportunities, provide valuable intelligence, and help shape fundraising decisions.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

·Significant experience of undertaking prospect research and due diligence within a charity, fundraising, or commercial environment, with the ability to identify and assess new opportunities.

·Strong research and analytical skills, with experience using a range of research tools, databases, and CRM systems to produce accurate, insightful reports and recommendations.

·The ability to develop and implement effective strategies, systems, and processes that improve ways of working and support organisational goals.

About the Role 

·Lead the development and delivery of St John Ambulance's prospect research strategy, creating a roadmap that supports fundraising priorities across philanthropy, corporate partnerships, trusts, and foundations.

·Manage the prospect research function, identifying and qualifying high-value funding opportunities while providing strategic insight to help maximise fundraising income.

·Conduct high-quality prospect research, network mapping, and due diligence, ensuring all recommendations align with the charity's ethical fundraising policy and protect its reputation.

·Build and manage fundraising pipelines by identifying new prospects, tracking opportunities, and working closely with fundraising colleagues to move prospects successfully through the cultivation journey.

·Develop and embed effective processes for prospect referral, research, and data management, ensuring accurate CRM records, GDPR compliance, and the adoption of fundraising best practice.

·Collaborate with colleagues across St John Ambulance and The Order of St John, presenting research findings, sharing expertise, and helping to build prospect research capability across the fundraising team.

You will be the main person responsible for our UK phone line and be the first point of contact
for our many supporters. You will be working closely with the rest of the Supporter Care Team to ensure every interaction supporters have with our charity is a positive one and that they understand how integral they are to our mission.

Supporter Care and Communications

• Work collaboratively across a global Supporter Experience team to ensure supporter enquiries are handled to the highest standard, providing prompt, efficient, accurate responses in line with the charity’s messaging and service level expectations
• Keep up to date with programme activities and news from across the organisation to ensure you can provide informed supporter communications and deal with supporter enquiries confidently, efficiently and consistently

Person Specification
 

Qualifications, knowledge & skills required:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with extensive experience communicating with a broad range of people
• Demonstrable experience in a customer service role responding to a high level of enquiries via telephone and email with excellent interpersonal skills and telephone manner
• Experience of working on a customer relationship database (experience with Blackbaud CRM - a NFP database - is highly valuable, but not essential)

Main Responsibilities 

We are looking for a highly motivated and organised individual to coordinate our accreditation scheme. The role will work with our network of employers, and support new organisations through the accreditation process. 

The Programme Officer will support our work across the South East and support our managers to grow and deepen engagement with Living Wage Employers through our associated schemes. You will help to ensure our resources and publicity materials are well written and up-to-date, and to coordinate events to grow our employer network. 

Working as the Programme Officer for Citizens UK, reporting to a Programme Manager, your main responsibilities will include: 

Contribute towards the achievement of CUK and LWF’s strategic objectives

Understand how the role contributes to LWF’s purpose and the core mission of CUK

Reliably implement CUK’s and LWF’s policies, procedures, and values in own work

Work with CUK community organisers and leaders to promote civic engagement with and ownership of the Living Wage campaign 

Feed into the LWF strategy and objectives development 

Living Wage Accreditation 

• Support key contacts at potential LW Employers through the accreditation process, from dealing with initial enquiries to guiding them through the employer journey, to checking and processing their accreditation

By participating in the scheme Approved Provider units affirm their dedication to excellent care, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement. The accreditation of units is then published for families, individuals and professionals to help inform their choices when identifying suitable provision for brain injury survivors. Our accreditation process is designed to be collaborative and supportive, guiding units through every step towards achieving and maintaining exemplary service standards.

The role will involve, conducting and writing assessments and working with the Approved Provider and Training Manager to manage Lead Assessors, who are based around the UK and the Service User Perspective Assessors, who are either brain injury survivors, or family members/ carers.

About you

About the role 

As Perinatal Peer Support Service Lead, you will take responsibility for the effective day-to-day delivery of our local perinatal peer support service. Working closely with peer supporters, volunteers, health and social care professionals and community partners, you will help ensure families receive safe, inclusive and high-quality support when they need it. 

Join our passionate team and contribute to the meaningful work that transforms the loves of parents and families. Your role will include: 

• Leading and supporting the local peer support team, providing line management, supervision and operational oversight to ensure a consistent and high-quality service. 

• Overseeing the day-to-day delivery of peer support groups, including volunteer recruitment and support, rotas, venues, resources and training coordination. 

• Managing referrals into the service, assessing individual needs and suitability, providing appropriate signposting and coordinating onward or alternative support where needed. 

• Building strong relationships with health and social care professionals, Family Hubs and other community partners to develop effective referral pathways and increase awareness of the service, particularly within disadvantaged communities. 

• Monitoring the impact and quality of the service through accurate data, service user and volunteer feedback, outcome measures and evaluation, using insights to support continuous improvement. 

Safeguarding and the wellbeing of the families we support are central to this role. You will help maintain robust safeguarding and health and safety practices and ensure concerns are identified and escalated appropriately. 

About you 

You will be an organised, compassionate and confident people leader with a strong understanding of the challenges families may experience during the perinatal period. 

You will have experience supporting vulnerable families or people with complex needs, together with strong judgement when assessing individual needs and identifying appropriate support, referrals or signposting. 

You will also bring: 

• Experience supervising and supporting others, including volunteers. 

• Project management experience and the ability to coordinate multiple areas of service delivery. 

• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work flexibly while managing competing priorities. 

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening and the ability to build rapport with people from a wide range of backgrounds. 

• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills. 

• Experience collecting data and contributing to professional reporting. 

• An understanding of the barriers parents can face when accessing services and the importance of providing inclusive and equitable support. 

• Good judgement when managing workloads, people and safeguarding concerns. 

• Confidence using Microsoft Office and internet-based systems. 

Knowledge of safeguarding, including child and vulnerable adult protection, and awareness of local emotional and practical support services would be beneficial. 

Training as an NCT Parents in Mind Peer Supporter would also be welcomed, although we are happy to consider candidates willing and eligible to undertake this training. 

An Enhanced DBS check and driving licence are required for this role. You will also need to be willing and able to travel across Kent, including providing occasional cover for peer support sessions when required.

We're looking for 5 Perinatal Peer Supporters to join us to provide compassionate, non-judgemental peer support to mothers, birthing people and families across Kent. Support will be delivered through a range of settings, including face-to-face and virtual peer support groups. 

Working closely with our Perinatal Peer Support Service Lead, volunteers, health professionals and community partners, you will help create safe and welcoming spaces where parents can connect, share experiences and access appropriate support. 

Join our passionate team and contribute to the meaningful work that transforms the loves of parents and families. Your role will include: 

• Facilitating welcoming and supportive perinatal peer support groups across Kent, including providing cover for additional sessions when required. 

• Building trusting relationships with parents and families, using active listening and peer support skills to help people feel heard, understood and supported. 

• Identifying when someone may need additional support, signposting to appropriate local services and escalating safeguarding or wellbeing concerns where necessary. 

• Working with volunteers, health and social care professionals, Family Hubs and community partners to increase awareness of the service and strengthen local referral pathways. 

• Supporting the ongoing development of the service through accurate record keeping, feedback, data collection, promotional activity and participation in service review meetings. 

You will also contribute to promoting the service within local communities, particularly among families who may experience additional barriers to accessing support. 

Safeguarding and wellbeing are central to this role. You will receive regular support and supervision and will be expected to raise any concerns appropriately and contribute to creating a safe environment for everyone using the service. 

About you 

You will be compassionate, approachable and able to build trusting relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds. 

You will have a strong understanding of the challenges associated with the perinatal mental health period and be confident providing sensitive, non-judgemental support to parents and families. 

You will also bring: 

• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills. 

• Good written and verbal communication skills, including active listening. 

• The ability to manage your time effectively and prioritise competing demands. 

• A reflective and solution-focused approach to your work. 

• Confidence working independently while remaining connected to a supportive wider team. 

• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and internet-based systems. 

• A commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion and to ensuring all families feel welcomed and supported. 

Experience of community engagement, supporting vulnerable families or working with diverse cultural communities would be particularly valuable. 

Knowledge of safeguarding, including child and vulnerable adult protection, and awareness of emotional and practical support services within the local community would also be beneficial. 

You must either be a trained NCT Parents in Mind Peer Supporter or be willing and eligible to undertake this training. The training requires lived experience of perinatal mental ill-health and/or experience supporting someone through perinatal mental health challenges.
