Job description

Sutton Vision is a local charity supporting people affected by sight loss across the London Borough of Sutton. We provide practical, personalised information, advice and support so that people can make informed choices, maintain their independence and stay connected to their community. Our support includes help to understand treatment options, employment and benefits advice, assistance with forms and technical aids, and a varied programme of accessible social activities that help reduce isolation.

We are entering an important stage in the development of our fundraising. Trusts and foundations currently provide much of our income, and we now want to build a broader and more sustainable supporter base. This will include creating more opportunities for individuals, community groups and local businesses to contribute to our work. The Fundraising Assistant will play a key part in helping us strengthen existing relationships, reach new supporters and deliver an excellent experience for everyone who chooses to support Sutton Vision.

Purpose of the job
• To support Sutton Vision to raise the income needed to deliver high quality services for people affected by sight loss.
• To provide a first rate supporter experience by responding promptly to enquiries, maintaining accurate records in Donorfy, processing fundraising administration and ensuring donations are thanked and recorded appropriately.
• To support fundraising activity across trusts and foundations, companies, individuals, community fundraising and legacy giving. This will include prospect research, gathering content, approaching potential supporters and helping to develop long term supporter relationships.
• To work collaboratively across the organisation, using stories and evidence appropriately and sensitively to communicate the impact of Sutton Vision’s work.

The role is based at Sutton Vision Offices in central Sutton with occasional home working, 21 hours per week worked over 3-4 days with a salary of £27,000 FTE or £16,200 pro rata based on 21 hours.

Deadline: 23 October 2026, 12pm
Interviews: w/c 2 November 2026
