Partnerships and Engagement Manager

As part of our ambition to reach more families and secure the long-term sustainability of services, we are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Partnerships and Engagement Manager to help expand our client’s profile, build meaningful partnerships, and create new opportunities for support across the South West.

This is a newly created and strategically important role focused on developing new relationships with businesses, community organisations, professional networks, and other stakeholders who share a commitment to improving outcomes for children with disabilities and additional needs.

Position: Partnerships and Engagement Manager

Location: Home-based with regular travel across the South West and attendance at the National Therapy Assessment Centre, Bridgwater.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £37,000 - £41,250 per annum

About the Role

Through the evidence-based Therapy Programmes and National Therapy Assessment Centre in Bridgwater, the organisation delivers life-changing outcomes for families across the UK. Acting as a key ambassador, you will represent the charity across the region, identifying opportunities to raise awareness, build engagement, and develop partnerships that support this work.

You will help maximise the Therapy Assessment Centre as an engagement hub, encouraging prospective supporters and partners to visit, learn more about the services, and get involved meaningfully.

Working with fundraising, communications, retail, and service delivery teams, you will strengthen regional presence, generate support, increase awareness, and contribute to sustainable income growth through corporate partnerships, Charity of the Year relationships, community engagement, networking, and strategic introductions.

While experience within the charity sector or fundraising would be advantageous, it is not essential. We are equally interested in candidates with strong networking, business development, account management, partnership development, sales, marketing, or stakeholder engagement experience. Key Responsibilities  

Marketing & Communications 

• Deliver integrated marketing and communications activity across the charity, ensuring consistency of messaging, tone of voice and brand identity.
• Manage and maintain the organisational communications calendar and messaging hierarchy.
• Support the development and delivery of high-impact campaigns, awareness activity and organisational announcements.
• Create engaging content across digital and print channels including website copy, email communications, campaign assets and supporter materials.

• Build and maintain positive relationships with journalists, media outlets and external partners.

• Provide out-of-hours media support, including responding to journalist enquiries where required.

Brand, storytelling & ambassadors 

• Uphold and strengthen PCR’s brand identity across all communications and platforms.
• Manage and grow PCR’s ambassador, celebrity and case study programmes.
• Identify, recruit and steward compelling patient stories and supporter case studies.
• Support photography and video shoots to ensure content is impactful, inclusive and aligned with the brand.
• Work closely with ambassadors and celebrity supporters to maximise engagement, visibility and campaign impact.

Cross-organisational support 

• Partner with fundraising, research, patient projects and influencing teams to deliver coordinated communications support.
• Develop marketing materials and storytelling assets to support fundraising campaigns, partnerships and events.
• Identify opportunities for greater collaboration, integration and impact cross-organisationally.
• Support the delivery of a future brand review and refresh project if required. 

Skills and Competencies

As the Grant Programmes Manager, you will report to the Deputy Director of Grants & Programmes and play a key role in designing, delivering, and evaluating targeted funding programmes such as our Heritage for All, Clearer Care and Mental Health scale Up Fund Programmes. You will work closely with colleagues across Grants, Programmes, Development, and Communications teams to steward donor relationships and ensure that their funding reaches the communities where it will have the greatest impact.

You will engage with voluntary and community organisations, public sector partners, and donors to shape programme design and share learning. You may also be required to line manage a Grants Officer or Administrator providing support on programme delivery.

To be successful in this role, you will be a proactive and highly organised individual with experience managing the full lifecycle of grant or funding programmes. You will have strong project management skills, excellent attention to detail, confidence interpreting complex information and communicating this to a range of audiences.

You will bring a friendly, professional approach and the ability to build rapport with a wide range of stakeholders, from grassroots community groups to donors and trustees. You will be comfortable managing competing priorities and working both independently and as part of a small, collaborative team. You will have strong digital skills and experience using Microsoft Office.

Experience working in the charity or voluntary sector is desirable. Additional desirable experience includes, familiarity with CRM systems, experience working with communities within Surrey, and an interest in supportive grant‑making practices such as IVAR principles of open and transparent grant-making.

Role Overview:

The Flood Engagement Officer will support the London and Home Counties community engagement team, reporting to a Community Engagement Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with communities to support them in tackling flooding risks.

• Community Project Delivery: Lead and support the implementation of projects focused on flood risk management.
• Community Engagement: Engage and empower at-risk communities, ensuring they have the tools and information to co-create solutions to flood risks.
• Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with key community stakeholders and partners.
• Data Management: Provide data to help evaluate and support engagement activities.
• Support the Senior Team: Assist in broader tasks and activities as required by the senior team.

The Role

This is a key role in acting as a delivery partner on our projects, working on streams of community support across the London and Home Counties (including Thames Valley area), and within the staff team. 

Responsibilities

• Projects and Workstreams: Overseeing and ensuring outstanding delivery on multiple community projects through NFF Flood Support and Flood Action Group process. Support and manage data collection that meets the aims of each project.
• Community Engagement: Engage and empower flooded and at-risk communities, supporting and representing them and pushing for the best outcomes.  Being ambitious on their behalf and advocating for change.
• Business Engagement: Proactive engagement with businesses to support flood risk reduction to affected communities.
• Report Writing: Ensure reports are on time and are to depth and quality required.
• Staff Training: Support staff and training manager to ensure comprehensive and appropriate training takes place to ensure continuous professional development. 
• Team Management: Line manage staff, fostering a collaborative and productive environment. Modelling behaviours and driving forward team development.
• Stakeholder Relationships: Manage and develop key stakeholder relationships, ensuring strong partnerships and leading on communications.

- Lead and manage the full lifecycle of technology change aligned with the Solution Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC)
