The Governance and Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in enabling strong, effective governance, high-performing executive support and the smooth operations of the charity.
Overseen by the Director of Operations and working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, the postholder will ensure that Board and committee activity is well-organised, compliant, and aligned to the charity’s mission, legal duties, and funding obligations. The role will oversee the smooth delivery of end-to-end governance administration-supporting agenda planning, high-quality papers, accurate minutes, action tracking, and statutory and policy requirements-while also managing and improving executive support systems, prioritisation, and confidential coordination.
The postholder will help strengthen governance, operational systems and will provide executive support to the Executive Teams, and planning support for wider organisational activities. Alongside helping to create the structure, assurance, and operational grip that enables leaders and trustees to focus on strategic impact, safeguarding, risk management, and the delivery of safe, effective services.
The successful candidate will make sure that the organisation’s processes and policies are in place, up to date, understood, and used consistently by staff. A Senior Sous Chef position is needed to assist the Executive head chef in the everyday running and organising of the kitchen and to line manage assistant chefs and kitchen porters. Menu planning, food ordering, stock control, and event delivery.
This role is a fixed-term contract for one year, and the prospective post-holder is expected to commence in the role by April.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all the Lambeth Palace kitchen team are fully trained in the food safety management systems and procedures, implemented by the Executive Head Chef.

- Ensure that kitchen stock levels are maintained, rotated where appropriate, and that any need for replenishment is identified.
- Maintain kitchen equipment inventories, and reporting shortages, damage or required replacements in a timely manner.
- To conduct daily briefings with any additional or agency kitchen staff, ensuring they understand what is required of them, as well as the desired quality and production output for the day.
- To work closely with the wider Lambeth Palace hospitality team to ensure that we remain competitive and in line with current trends.

The Operations Coordinator will play an important role in the smooth running of the day centre and night shelter. The Brand and Strategic Communications team is a strategic, collaborative and creative function focussed on driving WaterAid’s advocacy, engagement and fundraising objectives. About the role
As our communications Manager, you will manage the delivery of communications strategies for corporate partnerships working closely with WaterAid’s Communications and Fundraising directorate and key partners to drive sustainable change.
In this role, you will:
- Manage the delivery of WaterAid’s corporate partnership marketing communications strategy to maximise influence and income-raising potential from the private sector.
- Lead a cross-functional delivery group and collaborate across WaterAid’s Communications and Fundraising directorate to deliver integrated corporate advocacy and partner communications activities, primarily targeting a private sector audience.
- Act as the primary communications contact for partnership managers, advising on communications opportunities, strategic messaging, content and tactics that deliver value for WaterAid and partners.
- Champion in-sight led and on-brand messaging and creative which resonates with target audiences.
- Advise on best use of project budget to meet objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of communications activity, fostering a proactive and positive approach to learning and improvement within delivery teams.
- Champion WaterAid’s commitment to equity, inclusion and safeguarding.
Requirements
To be successful, you will need:
- Demonstrable experience in developing, leading and executing high impact communications strategies for corporate partnerships, ideally for a non-profit organisation.
- Expertise in business-to-business or corporate advocacy communications, and an understanding of trends in corporate sustainability and social responsibility.
- Experience working in, or in partnership with, the private sector, advising on communications approaches to engage a range of audiences and delivering communications plans with shared objectives.
- Highly collaborative and able to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent time management skills, able to drive projects forward while navigating competing priorities.
- Ability to generate and develop creative and innovative ideas, with a good eye for brand, design, film and photography.
Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have:
- Experience of international development issues and/or working in the voluntary sector in a communications role.
- An understanding of the ethical issues surrounding communications for international development.

This important role supports the operational delivery of the charity’s busy events programme and supports the team and running the office.
The events programme is diverse - from drinks receptions and report launches to events at agricultural shows across the UK - and support on administration for the wider charity, including some communications activity. Through these events, we drive awareness of our work supporting family farms and rural communities. In doing so we also garner support from funders to tackle the issues facing the countryside, ensuring our work reaches a diverse audience to raise awareness.
Under the direction of the Head of External Affairs, and with support of the wider staff team, you will be responsible for coordinating and running all the charity’s events, including full administrative support, booking venues, the invitation process and guest lists, organisation of collateral (including marketing and promotional information), catering arrangements and researching and inviting speakers. You will be also ensuring effective follow-up to each event such as wider dissemination of event content, evaluation, and reporting.
Working on events will account for approximately 75% of the role. The remaining time will be spent working across the charity undertaking a variety of administrative tasks. This will include supporting the team with mailings, coordination of specific activities and some general office management. Whilst reporting to the Head of External Affairs, this role will work closely with several team members, particularly the Executive Support & Governance Manager, providing a unique opportunity to gain knowledge and experience of different aspects of the charity’s work.
What we are looking for
This is an important role, and we’d like you to have a sound working knowledge of end-to-end event management and office experience within a charity or other professional environment. This exciting role will lead all our digital marketing channels and activities, with responsibility for delivering high-quality, creative and engaging content to our digital audiences. Our new Digital Marketing Lead needs to be proficient in website management and development, managing social media marketing, content marketing, email marketing, with a big emphasis on delivering results through paid media, SEO, SEM, and PPC.

Main responsibilities

- Conduct keyword research, on-page optimisation and technical SEO audits.

Paid Media
- This is a vital and rapidly growing area for the charity, and this role will manage all paid-for digital marketing, including lead generation and acquisition (Meta, Google, etc.).
- Create advertising campaigns and ensure effective tracking, monitoring, improvements, evaluation, and reporting of campaigns.
- Oversee our Google Ads grant (PPC) and (CRO) Google Tag Manager.
- Manage our main Google Ads account and launch Search, Display, and YouTube advertising for our digital-first Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month campaign.
- Deliver detailed advertising reporting using Looker Studio or other similar digital dashboards.
Digital content
- Manage and maintain the content calendar, including planning and scheduling content that aligns to both Pancreatic Cancer Action and project objectives.
- Create and manage the sourcing of high-quality content for blogs, website pages, social media posts, email content and for all other digital channels.
- Write, edit and proofread content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment to Pancreatic Cancer Action’s Text and Brand Guidelines.
- Create engaging design assets for use across all digital channels, including video and animation.
- Responsibility for pixels and unique identifiers for analytics.
Social media
- Work with the Head of Marketing and Communications to develop a social media strategy and set goals to increase brand awareness and engagement.
