Beder is looking for an ambitious, entrepreneurial and hands-on Head of Fundraising & Partnerships to lead the next stage of our growth.
Beder was established in memory of Beder Mirjan, who sadly took his own life in 2017 at the age of 18. Since then, we have spent the past eight years working to raise awareness around mental health and suicide prevention, challenge stigma and, increasingly, provide tangible support to people who need it.
The focus of our work is the Beder Therapy Voucher programme, through which we fund free therapy for people (18+) across the UK as we all need someone to talk to with demand for that support growing significantly.
Until now, much of Beder's fundraising has been founder-led, supported by an incredible network of ambassadors, partners, businesses and individuals. We have built exciting partnerships across sport, business, entertainment and hospitality whilst creating a charity with an engaged community and an ambitious vision for the future.
We are now ready to build a dedicated and sustainable fundraising function so we are looking for someone who can take ownership of that journey.
This isn't a role for someone who simply wants to manage an existing fundraising programme as we are looking for someone who enjoys building one. Whilst working closely with our founder, trustees and wider team, you will develop and execute Beder's fundraising strategy, building sustainable income across corporate partnerships, major donors, trusts and foundations, individual giving, campaigns and events.
You will inherit a compelling cause, an established brand, strong relationships and a growing pipeline of opportunities – but you will also have the freedom to shape how Beder approaches fundraising for the future.
We are looking for someone who is equally comfortable developing a fundraising strategy, writing a compelling funding proposal, meeting a potential corporate partner and picking up the phone to a prospective supporter.
Above all, we want someone who believes in what Beder is trying to achieve and wants to roll their sleeves up and help us build something special.
Our immediate objective is to develop a diversified fundraising programme capable of sustaining our Beder Therapy Voucher service enabling Beder to meet the growing demand for free therapy while continuing to expand our wider mental health and suicide prevention work.
The successful candidate will have significant autonomy to develop the strategy, partnerships and fundraising infrastructure required to achieve that.
We are open to candidates from a range of fundraising backgrounds and would particularly welcome experience across corporate partnerships, philanthropy/major donors, trusts and foundations and strategic fundraising.
Experience within mental health is welcome but is not essential.
What matters most is that you are an outstanding relationship builder, an effective fundraiser and someone excited by the opportunity to help take a small, ambitious charity into its next chapter.
Provides free therapy for those 18+ nationwide whilst taking a unique approach to softly raising awareness around mental health and suicide prevention

About you
You will have extensive experience securing major gifts of $500k+, together with a sophisticated understanding of global philanthropy, and the gravitas to represent The Elders with very senior audiences.

What we can offer you - Employee Benefits:
**************************************************************
Under the Equality Act 2010, we are required to make any reasonable adjustments. If you have a disability as defined under this act and/or have special needs, please email the Talent Acquisition Team via the Advance website and will aim to make the necessary arrangements to accommodate your needs.
Diversity, Inclusion and Equal Opportunities
We are committed to providing equality of opportunity and actively seek to recruit people from groups underrepresented in our current team. We have policies and processes in place to ensure that all employees are offered an equal opportunity in recruitment and selection, promotion, training, pay and benefits.
Safeguarding
Advance is committed to safeguarding and creating a culture of zero-tolerance of harm and expects all staff, including volunteers to share this commitment. We believe all individuals have the right to live their life free from violence and abuse and the right to feel and be safe. We have a suite of safeguarding policies, procedures and practice guidance, accessible to all staff, which promotes safeguarding and safer working practices across all our services and activities. When we recruit staff, we follow rigorous safer recruitment practices, this involves carrying out pre-employment checks including references, Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks, and identity checks. We ensure all staff undertake mandatory safeguarding training relevant to their role and responsibilities, to empower them to be competent and feel confident in recognising and responding appropriately to safeguarding issues and promote wellbeing.
Our vision is a world in which women and children lead safe, equal, violence-free lives so that they can flourish and actively contribute to society.
