The Major Giving team consists of 12 people with five direct reports, leading the sub-teams of Philanthropy, Trusts and Foundations, Strategic Partnerships and our Events function. Your team sits within the Income Generation Directorate, and you’ll work closely with colleagues across that Directorate and with our Policy & Campaigns  Engagement and Community & Network Directorates. The role

As Head of Operations, you will lead all operational functions of Foxglove. You will ensure that our finance, HR, legal compliance, fundraising, systems and internal processes enable the organisation to carry out its mission effectively. You’ll work across Foxglove and closely with leadership, as well as with external partners to build a resilient and well-governed organisation, able to manage growth and complexity while staying mission driven. This role manages one member of staff and multiple consultants.

Financial Management & Accounting

Legasee is a charity committed to ensuring that future generations can learn about our history through the personal recollections of the men and women who witnessed it first-hand. We provide students, teachers and researchers with unique access to a high-definition video archive of interviews with veterans and civilians connected to British military conflict from 1939 to the present day.

We are now seeking to recruit a committed and organised Project Officer to support the delivery of a major new oral history project focusing on the Aden Emergency, made possible thanks to a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. At its heart, the project will record the oral histories of 30–40 veterans and civilians whose lives were shaped by service in, or connection to, Aden during the final years of British rule.

Working closely with the Project Manager, the Project Officer will play a key role in the on-the-ground delivery of the project in Blackpool and the wider Northwest. The role has a particular focus on face-to-face volunteer coordination and the digitisation of archival material from the Aden Veterans Association, alongside supporting local events, interview days and community engagement activity.

The Project Officer will act as a local point of contact for volunteers, veterans and partner organisations, ensuring that activity is well organised, welcoming and delivered to a high standard. This is a practical, people-facing role, suited to someone who enjoys working directly with communities and supporting volunteers to develop new skills and confidence.

The recorded testimonies and digitised materials will form a permanent digital archive, supporting public engagement, interpretation and learning, and ensuring that the experiences of those connected to the Aden Emergency are preserved for future generations. The Project Officer will support quality assurance, accessibility and good archival practice throughout this process.

Education and community engagement are central to the project. The Project Officer will contribute to activity delivered in partnership with local schools, libraries and community groups, helping to create meaningful opportunities for people to engage with oral history and local heritage.

The role is home-based but requires regular in-person working in Blackpool and the surrounding area, including attendance at volunteer sessions, events and meetings. Flexibility around working hours is essential to meet the practical needs of the project.

Why this role matters

 Alexandra Rose run practical place-based food system transformation projects based around a voucher for fresh fruit & veg. We currently have 9 projects across the UK, and we’re aiming to scale in the coming years. Each project operates the same model, but each project adapts to work with different communities, different languages, different community support infrastructure, different retail options, and more.

At the core, we work with local trusted community organisations who distribute our vouchers to local families on low incomes with young children, and in some areas to local adults on low incomes managing food related health conditions (diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, etc). Voucher distribution is linked to a range of wider wrap around services to ensure that our projects support people in getting out of poverty in real and long-lasting ways. Our vouchers area accepted exclusively by local, independent healthy food businesses, ensuring that we are also supporting a fairer, healthier local food economy.

Our model directly tackles the barriers of affordability and accessibility to the most nutrient dense and most expensive element of a healthy diet. We change the health outcomes of young children and adults living with food related health conditions. We actively change the food environment that is available to a range of people who have been disadvantaged for decades.

As we grow nationally and expand the reach of our projects across multiple regions, we need strong operational leadership to ensure we can deliver consistently, efficiently and with confidence. You will help shape the systems and structures that support our operations, building on the strong work of our existing project teams.

This role is central to developing an operational approach that is both standardised and adaptable, supporting diverse communities while ensuring high-quality delivery, compliance, data collection and organisational resilience. As a senior leader, you will be an active part of the organisation’s Senior Management Team, and play a vital role in guiding the organisation through change, whether driven by shifts in policy, political context, funding environment or community need.

 Key Responsibilities

 Operational Leadership & Systems Development

• Build on the strong work of our project teams to develop consistent, scalable systems and processes that support effective delivery across different communities.
• Lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of robust operational systems: data management, compliance, monitoring, reporting, risk management and quality assurance.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (including data protection/GDPR), charity governance requirements and internal administrative standards.
• Work closely with external tech support and internal teams to maintain and improve our digital platforms and tools.

 Project Oversight & Delivery

This is an exciting opportunity to join Citizens Advice Doncaster’s advocacy service, supporting both Deaf and hearing people in Doncaster to ensure their voices are heard and their rights upheld.

The role focuses on statutory and non-statutory advocacy, supporting people to understand information, participate in decision-making, and navigate social care, health, and mental health systems. This role does not involve personal care.

You will provide advocacy support to Deaf and hearing people through a range of methods, including face-to-face meetings, online platforms, and email. You will attend meetings with professionals and ensure that Deaf people can fully access and understand complex information using British Sign Language (BSL), while supporting hearing people using appropriate communication methods.

Working hours are flexible, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide advocacy support to Deaf and hearing people in Doncaster

• Support people to participate in meetings with health, social care, housing, and other professionals

• Help people understand information and contribute to decisions about their care and support

• Represent individuals under statutory advocacy roles including IMCA, IMHA, Care Act advocacy, and Relevant Person’s Representative (RPR)

• Support people subject to the Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS), and Mental Health Act

• Obtain and represent the views and wishes of people who may lack capacity

• Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with data protection requirements

• Identify and report safeguarding concerns

• Work independently and remotely, while remaining an active member of the advocacy team and the wider VCSE community in Doncaster

About You
