Job description

About Working Well Trust

Working Well Trust is a mental health and employment charity in London. All of our projects share the aim of improving the lives of people with mental health support needs, learning disabilities and/or complex issues through training and employment.

We are recruiting a Co-Team Lead for our Newham IPS WorkWise Team, working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, reporting to the IPS Operations Manager.

You will work on site at least three days per week, including one day at our Head Office in Cambridge Heath coordinated with your fellow Co-Lead, with an optional two days working from home.

What you'll be doing

You will jointly lead a team of Employment Specialists supporting people with mental health conditions to find and sustain employment. You will line manage approximately half the team while sharing responsibility for the whole service’s outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with your fellow Co-Lead on team meetings, planning and consistent service delivery.

  • Providing supervision, coaching and field mentoring, including employer engagement.

  • Monitoring KPIs, discussing performance clearly with staff and supporting improvement.

  • Leading recruitment, induction and probation for your direct reports.

  • Maintaining data quality, preparing reports and leading IPS fidelity reviews.

  • Building stakeholder relationships and involving service users and carers in service development.

What you'll need

  • Experience as an IPS Employment Specialist, consistently meeting KPIs.

  • Sound knowledge of IPS principles and fidelity standards.

  • Strong collaboration skills, including sharing information promptly and resolving differences constructively.

  • Understanding of IPS supervision, line management and staff development.

  • Excellent communication, organisation, IT and data management skills.

  • Knowledge of relevant employment legislation, confidentiality, data protection and safeguarding.

  • A belief that anyone can succeed in employment with the right support.

What we offer

You are joining a team who strongly believe in making a positive impact to wellbeing and work, who are committed to ensuring a diverse and inclusive offering to our clients and within our own team.

  • 30 days annual leave plus public holidays (FTE)

  • Flexible, paid Wellbeing Hour every fortnight (FTE)

  • Paid company closed days at the end of the year (FTE)

  • 6% employer pension contribution

Working Well Trust is an equal opportunities employer and Confident about Disabilities.

What's next

Before you apply, please note the following:

  • We actively recruit and carefully review all applications. Due to rapid service expansion, we have onboarded 20 external hires in the last six months.

  • To ensure we can best support the people and communities we serve, we progress applications only where candidates provide meaningful answers to the screening questions.

  • Career development is real here: in the past year, 10 colleagues have progressed internally into Senior roles, Project Lead, Team Lead, and Operations Manager positions. We value ambition and celebrate progression.

  • If you require any reasonable adjustments at the interview stage, for example due to a disability, learning difficulty or health condition, please let us know in advance so that we can make appropriate arrangements.
