Salary: £38,000

Contract: 2-year fixed term contract

Hospice UK’s head office is based in London. This role will have full web-based connectivity to the central office, with regular opportunities to engage with the line manager and colleagues via email, face-to-face meetings, video calls, and telephone.

Whilst we work flexibly, because we work with decision makers in Wales, there will be an expectation that you can travel around Wales at short notice if required.

We may send assessments and questions to you in advance so that you can prepare. Please let us know if you have any specific needs to be able to fully engage with the process.

Job Information

The Role

This is an exciting time to join the hospice sector in Wales. Hospices Cymru represents Wales' fifteen charitable hospices, which provide essential care to more than 20,000 people affected by terminal illnesses each year. Hospice UK and Hospices Cymru have been working to secure a more sustainable future for hospice care in Wales, including increased Welsh Government funding and commitments to develop a commissioning framework and sustainable funding model.

As Hospices Cymru Collaborative Manager, you'll play an important role in bringing hospices together and strengthening how they collaborate, share good practice and work collectively. You'll help develop Hospices Cymru's partnership working and governance, support working groups, and make sure members remain connected and informed.

You'll also lead work to improve how hospice data and evidence are collected, interpreted and used across Wales. Working alongside Hospices Cymru members and colleagues at Hospice UK, you'll help turn data into meaningful insights that support decision-making, policy development and the wider recognition of hospices as important health and care system partners.

A further focus will be supporting work towards a sustainable national commissioning model and funding settlement for hospices in Wales, ensuring hospices are meaningfully involved and their collective and individual priorities inform this work.

About you

We're looking for someone who is collaborative, organised and motivated by bringing people together to make a difference. You'll be confident building positive relationships with a wide range of people, navigating different perspectives and priorities, and turning conversations and ideas into practical action.

You'll be comfortable working with complex information and data, drawing out what matters and communicating it clearly to different audiences. You'll be a strong organiser and networker who can coordinate activity across different organisations, manage competing priorities and see work through from idea to delivery.

You don't necessarily need to come from the hospice sector. We're interested in the skills, understanding and potential you can bring to the role, including your ability to work collaboratively, learn quickly and understand a complex environment. An understanding of health and social care and commissioning arrangements in Wales is important, while knowledge of the hospice sector would be an advantage.

You'll be comfortable offering respectful challenge and will share our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, as well as Hospice UK's purpose and values. Welsh language skills would be welcomed but are not essential.

More information is available in the candidate information pack, which is available on our website to download.
