Harris Hill Charity Recruitment Specialists
Birmingham (Hybrid) 13.64 miles
£37,000 - £40,000
Full-time
Permanent
Job description

Harris Hill is delighted to be supporting a wonderful charity in recruiting a Senior Executive Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established, award-winning organisation working across the West Midlands to support migrants, refugees, and vulnerable people. As the organisation continues to grow and develop its services, this is a pivotal role providing high-level support to its senior leadership team and Trustee Board, helping to strengthen executive effectiveness, governance and organisational accountability.

Offered on a permanent, full-time basis, the position is predominantly office-based in Birmingham, with the flexibility to work from home one day a week. There will also be occasional travel to other sites across the West Midlands.

The Senior Executive Coordinator will work particularly closely with the CEO and Executive Director of Services, taking responsibility for complex diary management, coordinating competing priorities and ensuring senior leaders are fully prepared for key meetings and commitments. You will play a central role in supporting the effective operation of the Trustee Board, including preparing agendas and papers, attending meetings and producing accurate, high-quality minutes. Beyond traditional executive support, you will maintain oversight of key decisions, actions and deadlines, ensuring commitments are followed through and potential risks or issues are identified and escalated appropriately. You will also coordinate executive-level reports and briefings, manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and support a significant new asset development project involving a range of professional advisers and external partners.

We are looking for an experienced executive support professional with a strong track record of supporting senior executives in a complex organisation. You will bring excellent diary management, minute-taking and organisational skills, alongside the confidence and judgement to manage sensitive information and competing priorities. Previous governance or Board-level support experience would be highly desirable, as would the ability to prepare clear, concise reports and briefings. Importantly, this is not simply an administrative position: you will be proactive, intellectually curious and comfortable constructively challenging senior colleagues, following up on commitments and identifying potential gaps. You will thrive in a culturally diverse environment, demonstrate empathy and cultural sensitivity, and understand the importance of working respectfully with an organisation supporting vulnerable beneficiaries. Above all, you will combine emotional intelligence with people skills, being able to manage internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

To apply, please submit your up-to-date CV by 15 November at 23:59. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to submit a tailored cover letter after reviewing the full job description.

Please note that only applicants with an unrestricted right to work in the UK will be considered for this position.

Please note, only successful applicants will be contacted with further information.

As a leading charity recruitment specialist and a certified B Corp™, Harris Hill is committed to high and ever-improving standards of equitable and inclusive recruitment. We actively welcome applications from all sections of the community regardless of age, disability, gender, race, religion, sexuality and other protected characteristics.
