Job description

Charity: Scotty's Little Soldiers
Location: Remote-first (must live within 2 hours of Cambridge city centre)
Salary: £39,000–£45,000 per annum
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Closing Date: Friday 30th October 2026

Harris Hill is proud to be supporting Scotty's Little Soldiers in their search for a Head of Supporter Experience: Individual Giving and Fundraising to join their passionate and growing team.

Scotty's Little Soldiers is an incredible charity supporting children and young people who have experienced the death of a parent who served in the British Armed Forces. Through emotional, practical and educational support, the charity helps bereaved military families navigate some of life's most difficult challenges.

With ambitious plans to expand its reach and support even more families, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the charity's future.

The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves building relationships, improving supporter journeys and using data and insight to create meaningful engagement.

You'll be responsible for ensuring every supporter feels valued, connected and part of the charity's journey.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and delivering an exceptional end-to-end supporter experience.
  • Building long-lasting relationships with individual donors, community fundraisers and supporters.
  • Leading on supporter stewardship, engagement and retention.
  • Using CRM systems, data and technology to improve supporter journeys.
  • Overseeing community fundraising income, budgets and planning.
  • Supporting and developing the supporter care function.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and create a more personalised supporter experience.

About You
We're keen to hear from candidates with experience in supporter engagement, individual giving, community fundraising, relationship management or customer experience, particularly those who have improved engagement and retention.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Strong experience developing and improving supporter or customer journeys.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Experience managing income streams, budgets and performance.
  • Confidence using CRM systems, data and insights to drive improvements.
  • Experience supporting or leading others.
  • A proactive, organised and strategic approach.
  • A genuine passion for making a difference.

Previous charity sector experience would be beneficial, but candidates with relevant transferable experience are also encouraged to apply.

Location
This is a remote-first opportunity, offering excellent flexibility. However, applicants must live within two hours' travel of Cambridge city centre to attend occasional in-person meetings, collaboration days and events.

This is a brilliant opportunity to join a charity doing truly meaningful work, where you can make a real difference to the experience of supporters and ultimately help more bereaved military families access vital support.

Closing date: Friday 30th October 2026.
