Age UK Wandsworth is an independent local charity. We've been working in the local community to help older people for over 60 years. We have dedicated staff and over 300 volunteers helping us to deliver services and activities for older people in Wandsworth.

A rare opportunity has arisen to join our caring and experienced day centre team as a driver and support worker. You will be driving clients to and from their homes each day in our minibus and then working with them at the centre during the day.

You will be assisting older people and/or vulnerable adults to improve or maintain their overall wellbeing and stay independent for longer whilst enabling them to retain, gain or regain independence.

Could you help

· To provide assistance with personal care and support, daily living tasks or with activities to clients within our day centre.

· To drive clients to and from their homes and the day centre.

Both full-time and part-time roles are available.

Please note that a clean driving licence is essential for this role. You will need a D1 driving licence or we can train you to drive one of our mini-buses.

Community Support Worker – The Role & Responsibilities:

Job Summary

To be the initial point of contact for customers accessing Huddersfield Mission services. To provide initial stage advice and assistance on a variety of needs. To work within the Advice Team to ensure the smooth running of Huddersfield Mission’s drop-in service, responding to requests for advice and support to customers and triaging them to the correct team member for support.

Main Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for clients referred in to the service, ensuring that comprehensive impact and risks assessments are completed and a tailored response to each client’s needs is provided.

• Regularly update electronic case records using our Lamplight – our CRM system to enable continuity of casework, monitoring and information retrieval.

The Role

The post holder will be part of a small team who have a shared interest in making a difference to the lives of unpaid carers throughout Southampton city. The post holder will offer front line support to unpaid carers. This will mainly be undertaken by phone, with some face-to-face work, and include carers assessments and reviews (training will be provided).They will actively listen to carers and provide them with information, advice, and support to enable them to continue living their lives to the fullest and reduce any negative impacts of their caring role. The post holder will also deliver some ‘outreach’ in the city. This might involve attending groups to talk to carers and raise awareness. They will be expected to assist with the planning and delivery of carer events eg. monthly carers lunches, and carry out other reasonable tasks in order to support Southampton’s unpaid carers.

This role is subject to a basic DBS check.

Age UK's Telephone Friendship Service is recruiting for Assessment Coordinators to join our dedicated team!

We crucially support thousands of matches between older people and trained volunteers, who together enjoy a regular weekly telephone chat. Our service makes a huge difference to the lives of older people who are lonely and isolated - giving them a chance to make a new friend from the comfort of their home.

As Assessment Coordinator, the successful candidate will play a vital role supporting older people through the initial stages of the service, ensuring processes run safely and efficiently.

We support older people all over the UK - so you'll need to be comfortable spending a lot of time on the phone and communicating by email - and have excellent conversational and customer service skills. You'll also need to be passionate about supporting older people and have a good understanding of older people's needs.

This role can either be based at our office in Blackpool, or in Ashburton Devon. We offer a hybrid model of home and office based-working, so you will need to be within a reasonable distance of either the Blackpool or Ashburton office and be willing to travel there regularly. As a guide, the team currently work from the office once or twice a week but please be aware this could increase.

You will work a 35-hour working week, 5 days out of 7 with start and end times between 8am and 6pm. It will include weekend and bank holiday shifts, which will be arranged on a rota basis.

We are seeking a Senior Community Support Worker to join our Newbridge day service in Stockport, which supports adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Complex Needs. The Senior Community Support Worker will also work flexibly across two other services based at Newbridge – an evening Youth Club and a Saturday Club for children with complex health needs.

The purpose of the role is to provide high-quality, person-centred support that meets the individuals needs with physical, health, emotional and social needs.  You will assist in the development and maintenance of their support plans as required, along with developing positive and engaging interactions.

You will provide line management to a small staff support team, developing their capability through demonstrating the right values and behaviours, mentoring staff and supporting their ongoing development.

Safeguarding vulnerable adults is a priority for all employees within the Trust.

Working Pattern – 37.5 hours per week, worked flexibly over five days. Weekend working will be required.

Starting Salary – £27,590.00 per year (£14.15 per hour) with biennial increments.

Additional Enhancement - weekends paid at 25% premium on the hourly rate.

About the role

Working as part of a team, providing support to people within a service and in the community, our Support Staff are responsible for assessing individual needs and developing agreed support plans to ensure we are providing a service that meets each individual’s needs and supports their aspirations. Support Staff be required to follow risk assessment as well as contribute to risk management planning. In line with our core values our support staff will work in a manner that promotes respect, individuality, choice and rights.

This role includes providing intimate Personal Care, including personal hygiene support and you will be working across 3 days a week (12.5 hour shifts). It is also essential you hold a full UK driving licence. 

We will give you all the training and support you need to do the role including a qualification in health and social care if you don`t already have one.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist people to live independently and maintain valued friendships and family networks. Reporting to appropriate professionals where this is possible.
• Create opportunities and enable people to develop and widen their social, educational work experience and leisure networks.
• Helping individuals to make decisions about their own lives by working within the guidelines of the Association’s person-centred approach.
• Complete paperwork demonstrating that outcomes described in individual plans are being achieved.
• Follow agreed risk assessment and contribute to risk management planning highlighting any changes in risk to more senior staff and other professionals.

Your role

As Assistant Shop Manager at Scope's Middlesbrough shop, you’ll work alongside the Shop Manager, and use your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment. Our retail roles are full of variety, and every day is different! One day you might be be generating and processing stock and designing an eye-catching window display. The next day you might be recruiting and training our wonderful volunteers. Every day there will be a different challenge that you’ll find extremely rewarding. You may also deputise and be responsible for running the shop when the shop manager is absent. A great attitude and willingness to learn are just as important as relevant experience.

About you

You’ll be a dedicated team player with a strong work ethic and committed to providing excellent customer service. You do not need specific retail experience. But we do ask that you are business minded and have worked in a fast paced, service environment where you put the customer’s needs first. You’ll also need to showcase a great attention to detail, solid IT skills and have a creative eye for displays. You will also demonstrate an appreciation of Scope’s values and ambition of achieving Everyday Equality for disabled people.

They will be warm and compassionate, yet also able to demonstrate healthy boundaries and professionalism. They will have experience of successful work with vulnerable people and an understanding of health and social care systems. They will be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication, in addition to sound IT skills. They will have resilience – and a sense of humour is also a must!
