We are seeking a Finance Officer to carry out day-to-day financial administrative tasks using Rock UK’s Xero accounting system, ensuring accurate and up to date financial data is available. The role requires regular contact by phone and email with staff and suppliers and it is essential that the post holder can be personable, professional and can genuinely represent the Christian ethos and values of Rock UK to both Christian and non-Christian stakeholders. 

The successful applicant will have an AAT Level 2 qualification in Bookkeeping or Accounting (or equivalent), experience of using accounting software, good written and verbal communication skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

ABOUT THE ROLE

 Variety is looking for a Trusts and Foundations Executive to join our Fundraising and Marketing Team. Reporting to the Trusts and Foundations Manager, the role will be vital in growing our income to fund life-changing practical support to disabled and disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

You will be responsible for building and sustaining Variety’s growth across our Trust and Foundations portfolio by expanding our low and mid-sized supporters. You will pro-actively approach, secure and steward a pipeline of Trusts and Foundations (ranging from £500 to £20,000) and support the Trusts and Foundations Manager on larger applications and impact reporting.

You will be working with a supportive and knowledgeable team who regularly work from our office in the heart of Camden, London. This role will also require a DBS check.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Income generation

·Managing relationships with existing funders to secure repeat funding.

·Preparing and submitting high-quality funding applications for varied projects.

·Independently managing a well-developed pipeline of prospective funders.

·Leading on delivering small Trust mailings throughout the year.

Prospect Research

·Proactively researching and evaluating potential grant funders using funding databases.

Stewardship

·Building and maintaining strong relationships with funders to secure grants and increase capacity to donate.

·Working closely with programmes team to gather insight, data and evidence to fulfil reporting requirements for projects funded by Trusts and Foundations.

·Attending face-to-face events with donors, including occasional visits to schools for Variety Sunshine Coach Presentations.

Administration & Management

·Ensuring that donations are accurately coded and acknowledged in a timely manner.

·Monitoring income performance against agreed targets. This will include pro-actively updating the Trust and Foundations Manager on progress, risks or emerging income generation opportunities.

·Assisting with the creation of fundraising templates for our various projects using our marketing templates.

·Updating salesforce and maintaining accurate records and donor information in our CRM systems.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

 Essential

· Experience working within a fundraising team at a charity.

· Experience engaging with supporters across the cultivation cycle. For example, researching potential donors, engaging with or stewarding them.

· Good interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate clearly, persuasively, and confidently in-person and on the telephone.

· Strong creative writing skills, with experience gathering and simplifying complex information into accessible content.

· Excellent IT proficiency skills and confidence using Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Desirable

· Experience of working within a Trust and Foundations fundraising team.

· Demonstrable success writing funding applications.

· Demonstrable competence working with a CRM database.

We are searching for a Peer Support Worker to join our mental health services. The role is a peer support worker, who use own lived experience of mental health difficulties to support others on their recovery journey through the facilitation of group based, peer support.

Our peer support and recovery services are a key element of the services we offer, and we are looking for someone who can use their own lived experiences to provide support to help individuals achieve their goals.

Service Delivery

• Facilitate Peer Support groups and ensure outcomes which support individuals with mental health and wellbeing needs across Luton in line with Mind BLMK’s agreed peer support model and service’s KPIs and contract requirements.
• Support the Service Manager, when required, by assessing individual’s suitability for attending the peer support service in the line with the organisations Access to Services process.
• Signpost individuals to wider services and encourage and support people to access local activities and community services.
• Use own lived experience of mental health challenges to show hope, empathy and understanding in a safe space where people feel accepted. Share ideas and approaches that support the improvement of mental health and wellbeing and embed this in working practices as a peer.
• Work closely with Service Manager to ensure that our peer support service meet the needs of Luton’s diverse community.
• Encourage and support client engagement with Mind BLMK through the influence and participation process, Guarantor Membership, and training opportunities.

The successful candidate will have an understanding the wellbeing needs of and working with people with mental health needs, including those from culturally diverse communities, personal lived experience of mental health difficulties and recovery and the interpersonal skills required to maintain both working relationships with a wide range of people and appropriate peer relationships with service users.

Education Workers are based at one of our IntoUniversity learning centres and work directly with young people, schools and families on a daily basis. It is therefore not a hybrid role and is based full-time in our centres.

About the Role

As Grants and Information Officer, you will play a central role in delivering our services. You will manage grant applications from initial assessment through to decision and award, contribute to committee processes, and support the wider operations of the charity.

Key Details

• Reporting to: CEO
• Hours: Part-time (21 hours per week)
• Working pattern: Flexible and hybrid working available (minimum one day per week in the office, typically Thursday)
• Salary: £28,000 – £31,500 FTE

Key Responsibilities

Casework

• Manage applications from initial assessment through to committee review
• Liaise with beneficiaries and maintain accurate, confidential records
• Prepare agendas and take minutes for committee meetings
• Signpost applicants to other appropriate sources of support

Finance

• Administer grants within agreed limits
• Arrange payments to beneficiaries and service providers
• Support audit processes

Grants Management System

• Maintain and update the grants database (Benefactor)
• Produce reports and review system content as required

Administration & Resources

• Update and maintain internal resources, including application forms, guidance, and standard communications
• Support website content updates
• Maintain standard operating procedures
• Provide general office administration support

Additional Duties

• Attend and support the AGM and other organisational meetings
• Represent the charity externally when required
• Support the CEO with fundraising strategy and policy development
• Undertake other duties as required in a small team environment

About You

You will be:

• Educated to degree level
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Experienced in working with databases and updating websites
• Familiar with fundraising applications and/or the charity sector (ideally benevolent funds or welfare services)
• Knowledgeable about the UK statutory benefits system
• Familiar with accounting software such as Xero or Dext (desirable)
• Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise a varied workload
• Adaptable and comfortable working in a small team
• An excellent communicator, both written and verbal
• A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Confident in problem-solving and decision-making
• Sympathetic to the charity’s mission and values

You will shape financial strategy, support high-level decision-making and ensure the Gallery remains financially sustainable, well-governed and able to deliver its ambitions. The role
You will lead the Gallery’s financial strategy and planning, ensuring robust budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management. You will provide clear financial insight to support senior decision-making and oversee high-quality reporting.

You will ensure strong financial governance and compliance with Charity SORP, manage risk, and lead the annual audit. You will also oversee tax and regulatory matters, including VAT, PAYE and Gift Aid, and manage relationships with auditors, banks and funders.

You will lead and develop the Finance Team, while supporting financial understanding across the organisation. As part of the senior leadership group, you will help shape priorities and ensure resources are aligned to deliver impact.

About you
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with senior-level experience. Experience in the charity or cultural sector is helpful but not essential.

You will bring strong expertise in financial strategy, planning and governance, and be confident advising Boards or Trustees. You will be able to translate complex financial information into clear insight and build effective relationships across the organisation.
