We are now seeking a skilled and proactive Management Accountant to join our Finance and Operations Directorate and play a pivotal role in strengthening our financial insight, supporting strategic decision‑making, and ensuring the organisation’s financial resilience.

As outlined in the job description, this role is central to “delivering timely, accurate, and insightful management information to support effective strategic decision‑making across the organisation” and to “maintaining robust financial accounts, ensuring that all financial data is reliable and up to date.”

 

The Role

This is a key position within the charity, responsible for producing high‑quality management information, partnering with budget holders, and driving continuous improvement in financial systems and processes.

You will lead the month‑end process, oversee cashflow forecasting, support the annual budget cycle, and develop financial models to inform strategic decisions. You will also deputise for the Director of Finance and Operations when required, ensuring continuity and operational resilience.

The role includes line management of the Senior Finance Officer and the opportunity to contribute to cross‑organisational projects, including impact measurement, funding bids, and organisational change initiatives.

About You

You will be a qualified and experienced management accountant (CCAB, CIMA or equivalent) with a strong track record of producing high‑quality financial analysis, business partnering, and driving improvements in financial systems.

You will bring:

· Substantial post‑qualification experience, ideally within the charity or not‑for‑profit sector

· Experience designing management accounts, dashboards and KPI reporting

· Strong financial modelling skills and advanced Excel capability

· Experience leading or contributing to digital transformation or process improvement projects

· The ability to translate complex financial information for non‑financial colleagues

· Experience preparing financial statements and supporting audit processes

· Knowledge of charity SORP and sector specific compliance requirements

We’re now looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join our Finance team. You will provide an effective management service to budget holders, senior managers and our executive directors and in turn help strengthen and shape the way we support our people.

As the Senior Management Accountant, you will:

• Maintain up-to-date, accurate and appropriate accounting records for the Hospice, produced in accordance with the Hospice procedures and timetable
• Help to lead and manage a small team
• Provide comprehensive financial and business advice to one or more directorates
• Monitor budget performance and suggest service improvements
• Prepare and complete statutory business information returns and/ or income and expenditure accounts in accordance with monthly and annual timetables making sure the date is complete and accurate
• Contribute towards the production of the annual plan and budget setting

Overview

Working closely with the Finance & Resources Director, this newly created role will be a key member of UP’s Finance team, supporting the charity to successfully deliver the charity’s strategic plan. You will provide accurate financial information, robust accounting controls and support for budgeting and programme costing, helping the charity operate efficiently and sustainably.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in charity or not-for-profit finance, confident in accounting software (Xero) and with strong Excel skills. You will be highly organised, detail-focused, and able to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues.

You will support the Financial Accounting and Control team to maintain a robust internal control environment, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the ledger and monitoring compliance. You will take primary responsibility for ensuring that the month end close process is tightly controlled and managed, ensuring the completion of all relevant balance sheet reconciliations and other control processes to maintain the integrity of finance data on a monthly basis.
You will also support the preparation of the annual financial statements for the NCIs and their subsidiary companies, taking responsibility for some of the subsidiary entities, and working with the Senior Financial Accountants (who each focus on different NCIs) to support with the more complex accounts. You will also be closely involved with the external audit process, supporting the Senior Financial Accountants with the management of audit requests and queries.
You will work collaboratively with the rest of the Finance Accounting and Control team to develop a high-quality finance service to the NCIs, including best practice external reporting, robust balance sheet controls and compliance, timely and accurate period-end processes, and effective banking and cash management.

As a newly qualified or part-qualified accountant, you will have strong financial accounting skills and a good understanding of the financial control environment. You will be a confident Excel user and be able to quickly manipulate high volumes of data efficiently and build reports which can be quickly and easily produced. You will also have good attention to detail, able to identify anomalies and issues, and adopt a thorough and diligent approach to resolving them.
An effective communicator, you will be able to explain financial issues to non-finance staff and to help people to use financial information well. You will deliver relevant training and support across departments to help improve financial literacy and ensure compliance with relevant financial control procedures. You will be someone who is always looking to improve processes and worker smarter, collaborating with your finance colleagues to drive best practice in everything we do.

An established charity in the cultural sector is seeking a Financial Accountant for a 6-month interim role. You’ll join a supportive finance team and play a key role in delivering high-quality statutory reporting and technical accounting during a period of organisational change.

About the role

You will focus on core financial accounting responsibilities, including consolidated accounts, fixed asset management, IFRS 16 implementation, tax compliance and supporting the year-end process. You will also provide technical guidance to colleagues and ensure strong governance and reporting standards.

As the Financial Accountant you will need:

• ACA or ACCA qualified with post-qualification experience gained within a complex, multi-faceted organisation.
• Significant experience preparing consolidated statutory accounts in line with Charity SORP.
• Strong experience managing large fixed-asset portfolios, including multi-million-pound land and property valuations.
• Proven experience implementing IFRS 16.
• Strong understanding of VAT, Corporation Tax and other charity-related tax matters.

We are looking for an Assistant Financial Accountant to play a key role in supporting Purposeful Ventures’ day-to-day financial operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their finance career who wants to build a strong foundation in accounting, whilst studying towards a professional qualification, in a supportive and purpose-driven environment. You’ll gain hands-on experience across the finance function, and Purposeful Ventures will support you to gain a Level 4 Professional Accounting Technician Apprenticeship, covering the cost of your professional study. This will allow you to complete on-the-job training, and be part of a vibrant finance team, whilst gaining your Level 4 AAT, ACCA or CIMA Diploma.

You will be at the heart of the organisation’s financial operations, gaining exposure to a wide range of finance processes including purchase ledgers, expenses, payments to banking, month-end processes and finance systems. You will also be able to support in the production of management accounts and provide information for the annual audit, helping give you a strong foundation in core finance processes

This is a role for someone who likes working with numbers and loves getting into the detail. You’ll be trusted with responsibility from day one, but you’ll also have the support and guidance you need to propel your finance career forward. You will have had some exposure to a finance function, but are now looking for a role where you can grow and be supported to gain a formal accounting qualification.

Responsibilities and duties

Purchase Ledger and expenses

• Maintain the Purchase Ledger to process, code and enter invoices for payment in line with agreed terms.
• Process all expense claims, ensuring that all the necessary supporting documents are authorised by the relevant manager.
• Oversee and initiate automated payment runs, including purchase ledger payments, examine payments and staff expenses, ensuring all pre-payment checks and authorisations are correctly captured within the system.
• Set up new suppliers and update bank details for existing suppliers.
• Resolve supplier and internal staff finance-related queries in a timely manner.
• Own the organisation’s credit card and pre-paid card process to update users, allocate funds, code payments and reconcile receipts.
• Ensure receipts are submitted within agreed timelines by encouraging the wider employee base to submit these on time.

Month end and year end

• Assist with bank reconciliations and posting daily bank transactions.
• Post journals for accruals, prepayments and other financial adjustments as directed by the Finance Manager.
• Support the preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Assist the Finance Manager with audit preparation.

Other

• Assist in managing financial administration procedures and contribute suggestions to improve efficiency and processes.
• Set up new users on multiple internal systems.
• Ensure internal systems are being used and are beneficial to staff by supporting them with queries on their use.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone who is ready to take the next step in their finance career and develop through a Level 4 Diploma. You’ll be eligible to enrol by having a minimum of either five GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C) and A-Level and/or BTEC qualifications or a Level 3 apprenticeship, and will be motivated to deepen your technical knowledge while gaining practical, hands-on experience.

You’ll already have some exposure to core finance responsibilities such as processing invoices, supporting expense claims, assisting with reconciliations and working with financial systems. You understand the importance of accuracy and take pride in your attention to detail and time management.

We are also looking for someone who is methodical, proactive and curious. You’re comfortable using systems and technology and are comfortable with driving improvements in both finance processes and your own skills. Most importantly, you’ll be someone who is motivated to learn and sees this role as an opportunity to develop your technical finance knowledge alongside your apprenticeship and to build a strong foundation for a long-term career in finance.

 10 Windsor Walk (10WW) is a Community Interest Company established by local therapists concerned to address the provision of intensive psychological services for those most in need.

We support psychoanalysts, psychotherapists and the local community by providing psychotherapy treatment rooms and space for training and events related to developing psychological services.

More than this, we are a hub where therapists and psychoanalysts can meet, work together and exchange ideas on developing the practice as a whole.

Our work includes:

Affordable treatment – We run low- and no-fee psychotherapy for those in need in the local community, alongside trainees from the Institute of Psychoanalysis who offer low-fee psychoanalysis.

Community programmes – We run a weekly therapeutic playgroup for parents and toddlers seeking sanctuary in South London, alongside public events such as the Psychoanalytic Film Club and Maudsley Lectures.

About the role:

We are seeking a part-time Finance Officer to support the financial management of the organisation and strengthen our internal financial systems.

Working closely with the Programme Manager and Finance Sub-Committee, the Finance Officer will maintain accurate financial records, support grant reporting and provide financial information to support organisational planning and governance.

This role is particularly suited to someone with strong bookkeeping experience who enjoys working in a small mission-driven organisation and contributing to the development of robust financial systems.

Summary of tasks:

·Day-to-day bookkeeping and maintenance of Xero

·Managing payments

·Updating and maintaining cashflow forecasts

·Support the review of the Reserves Policy

Working relationships

Terrence Higgins Trust is seeking a motivated, fully or part qualified Assistant Management Accountant to support the delivery of high quality financial data and reporting across the organisation. Assistant Financial Accountant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Assistant Financial Accountants to join a well-established public sector organisation, supporting the delivery of high-quality financial reporting, technical accounting and statutory returns. Sitting within a corporate finance team, these roles offer the chance to play a key part in the production of the statement of accounts and audit process, with opportunities to specialise in either VAT or capital accounting.

Working as part of a collaborative and forward-thinking finance function, you will gain exposure to a wide range of technical accounting areas while contributing to continuous improvement and strong financial governance.

What you’ll do

• Support the delivery of the annual statement of accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory deadlines
• Lead on technical and capital accounting entries, applying relevant regulations and best practice
• Partner with stakeholders across the organisation to provide clear financial advice and insight
• Act as a key contact for internal and external audit, resolving queries efficiently
• Take ownership of balance sheet reconciliations, maintaining strong financial controls
• Develop financial models and support statutory returns, including VAT submissions
• Support and mentor junior team members within the finance function
• For the VAT-focused role, prepare and review VAT returns, ensuring accuracy and identifying discrepancies
• For the capital-focused role, maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate classification and depreciation

What you’ll need

• AAT Level 4 or part-qualified with a recognised accounting body
• Experience working within a finance environment, ideally within the public sector
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with the ability to apply this in practice
• Experience using financial systems such as Oracle and advanced Excel skills
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-finance stakeholders
• Exposure to VAT and or capital accounting would be advantageous

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing statutory accounts in line with UK GAAP and Charity SORP, supporting the Head of Finance.
• Managing the year end external audit, coordinating responses to external audit requests, preparing schedules and ensuring timely sign off.
• Owning capital and overseeing lease accounting, reviewing and updating policies and improving month end and year end processes.
• Ensuring tax compliance across Corporation Tax, Gift Aid, VAT and overseas sales tax, and approving tax returns.
• Reviewing and documenting policies and procedures, producing clear technical guidance and embedding controls.
• Supporting the design and implementation of the new finance system to align reporting and tax processes with operations.
• Leading and developing the finance team, line managing the Financial Accountant and collaborating with management accounts and business analyst.

Essential Criteria:

• You’re a qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with strong technical accounting knowledge and recent hands‑on experience using FRS 102 in statutory accounts preparation.
• You’ll have practical knowledge of VAT and tax issues relevant to UK charities or non‑profits, able to interpret guidance and apply it in practice.
• Proven experience managing audits, preparing audit schedules and liaising effectively with external auditors and internal stakeholders.
• Excellent written skills, able to produce clear, structured process documents, policies and procedures.
• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, able to collaborate across teams and challenge the status quo constructively.
• Organised and adaptable, able to manage multiple workstreams and projects with a positive, solutions‑focused approach.
• Line management experience or demonstrable people leadership skills, with a supportive, development‑focused style.

Terms and Conditions

• Type of contract: Permanent
• Hours of work: Full time (37.5 hours per week)
• Location: Hybrid. This role will be expected to work Monday and Fridays from home and Tues/Weds/Thurs in the office. ENN will consider requests for further flexible working arrangements, including part time working. This will be considered on a case-by-case basis, balancing ENN’s needs with a candidate’s other commitments.
• Holidays: 25 days plus UK Public Holidays, increasing by one day per annum after two complete years of service to a maximum of 27 days per annum. Pro-rata for part-time staff.
• Salary: up to £60,000 per annum (FTE), dependent on experience
• Pension: Auto-Enrolment to ENN scheme with a generous Employer contribution of 5%

Purpose of the role

The Finance (FM) contributes to ENN’s vision through strategic management and governance of its financial resources and budgets.

The Finance Manager is responsible for finance strategy, planning and oversight, reporting, regulatory compliance and aligning finance strategies with organisational goals and operations.  The FM is a member of the management team, provides key insights to support business decisions, liaises with the board of trustees and holds the position of Company Secretary.

Responsibilities

· Develop ENN’s finance strategy in support of the delivery of its 5 year strategic goals.

· Proactively enhance ENN’s financial systems to manage and oversee project budgets, forecast trends, identify opportunities, and analyse organizational performance through data-driven decision making

· Strategic Support – Provide management information and financial insights to the management team and trustees including identification and mitigation of strategic and operational financial risks.

· Line Management – Line manage and mentor the finance team (currently 1 management accountant) and ensure positive, productive, and supportive team relationships

· Oversee the core finance functions; including multi-currency (GBP, EUR and USD) payables , receivables, bank reconciliations, cash flow and general ledger reconciliations

· Budgeting & Forecasting - Lead the annual budgeting process and track financial performance of the organisation as well as budget variance analysis of project P&L’s

· Manage finance year end and the Charity’s annual and other audits, including holding the relationship with auditors and preparing the appropriate statements

· Contribute to the organisation’s income generation ambitions, supporting partner due diligence and in providing advice, guidance and assistance, and in preparation of funding proposal budgets that meet ENN’s requirements

· Internal Controls & Compliance - Advise the management team on any measures required to ensure that financial systems (including payroll and banking systems), policies, procedures and controls are robust and adhere to regulatory requirements and implement these procedures where appropriate.

· Manage effective payroll, including: Preparing payroll calculations, submissions on Bright Pay pension administration, payroll year end schedules and PSA calculation and submission.

· Charity Governance – Company Secretary duties ensuring timely and accurate statutory filing with Companies House and The Charity Commission

· Maintain high quality records in line with regulatory requirements and GDPR

· Other tasks reasonably requested by the CEO

Person Specification

Essential

· Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

· Extensive experience of leading financial management for organisations in the non-profit sector, with a thorough understanding of charity specific financial obligations.

· Demonstrated experience in reporting to and engaging with management teams and/or trustees on matters related to financial risk management, including presenting complex financial data, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations.

· Experience of building and managing grant funded project accounting with proportional allocation of staff costs to funds.

· Experience of developing funding proposals with a variety of funders, including institutional funders, foundations and NGO’s

· Experience of managing payroll.

· Experience in line managing a team including appropriate delegation, performance management, staff engagement and development, and effective coordination of team workload

· Ability to work both autonomously and as pro-active business partner to members of a dispersed team.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

· Proficient user of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and a range of commercial financial software (ENN use iplicit accounting software)

Desirable

• Specific experience with international institutional funders, foundations and International NGO’s would be an advantage
• Experience in managing income and expenditure in multiple currencies
• Experience of iplicit accounting software, BrightPay payroll software

Reporting Lines

The Finance Manager is a member of ENN’s Management Team and reports to the Chief Executive Officer and has line management responsibility for a small team (currently 1 management accountant).

Eligibility to work  

The successful applicant is required to demonstrate they have the Right to Work in the UK. This includes evidencing a UK NI number and that they are a UK tax resident. A Certificate of Sponsorship and relocation package are not available for this position.
