Job description

Job Overview

Kidscan Children’s Cancer Research is dedicated to finding safer treatments for children diagnosed with cancer. After years of success in the North West Region, we are now in a position to drive the charity forward with the goal of becoming a national charity.

We are therefore looking for an experienced Fundraising Manager who has the drive and ambition to help steer Kidscan through this exciting time.

Your main responsibility in this role will be to lead a team of fundraising officers to ensure the effective delivery of fundraising activities in a range of areas. In addition, you will be expected to champion our fundraising across the country building regional and national fundraising committees as well as identifying new income and funding opportunities.

This hands-on role will rely on you being an outgoing and reliable individual who has the confidence to engage with supporters whilst effectively managing a team. You will also be bursting with ideas and keen to input into the overall charity strategy.

Although you don’t have to be a mathematician you must have a good understanding of budget management and ROI in order to effectively manage your team. You must be confident in your writing capabilities and have the ability to “hit the ground running”, but most importantly you must have the energy, drive and ambition to truly thrive in the third sector.

Detailed Job Description

Kidscan Children’s Cancer Research operations with a flexible working philosophy, so the list of your responsibilities is not exhaustive, as we are a small team you will be require to assist other members of the Kidscan team when required, this may include out of hours working.

Working directly with the Head of Operations and Marketing as well as the CEO – the main purpose of this role is to drive community fundraising. Responsibilities include:

  • Direct responsibility for B2C income streams
  • Management of the Fundraising officers to ensure the effective delivery of all community fundraising activities including our tin scheme, volunteers, community fundraisers and sponsored fundraisers.
  • Research and identify new fundraising streams and opportunities
  • Provide fundraising insight to the marketing team for the development of lead generation campaigns
  • Work with the marketing department to capitalise on PR Opportunities
  • Maintain Kidscan’s supporter information through Kidscan’s CRM system, in line with Kidscan policies and GDPR guidelines
  • Work with the marketing department to ensure a smooth stewardship process is in place.
  • Work with the CEO to develop regional and national fundraising committees
  • Maintain Kidscan’s supporter information through Kidscan’s CRM system, in line with Kidscan policies and GDPR guidelines
  • Work closely with the Kidscan Marketing team to feedback community stories and identify PR opportunities.
  • Working in line with Kidscan Social media policy and strategy, utilise social media to engage with community supporters.
  • Work with the Head of Operations and Marketing to manage fundraising budgets
  • Work with the marketing team to develop the Kidscan Education Programme and Ambassador Programme.
  • Work with the Fundraising Officer (Volunteers) to develop a full volunteer programme.
  • To represent Kidscan at External events in consultation with the Head of Operations and Marketing and CEO
