We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Development Director to join our high performing charity team.

Your role will be to develop a strategy that increases our supporter acquisition, improves our donor retention and maximises that support to reach our goals.
 
You will need to be a strategist and a detailed analyst, excel with budgets, reports and presentations, and lead a team of committed fundraisers across a range of income streams.
 
You will be a natural and enthusiastic leader, who can direct, support and inspire a high-performing team.
 
With experience of working in a complex environment, you will be organised with a high-level of attention to detail, plus have the ability to work alongside adjacent departments in Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
 
We are looking for someone who is dynamic, creative, ambitious and team-oriented, with proven experience working for a fast-paced organisation.
 
As well as evidence of high-level strategic thinking, you will be comfortable diving into the day-to-day work, and so a broad skill set is a must together with a sharp focus on delivering return-on-investment, demonstrating impact of campaigns on revenue, and building our audiences.
 
This is a complex role requiring a high level of political acumen, excellent relationship skills and a desire to improve our ability and capacity to generate income at every level, from digital fundraising to major gifts.
 
The Charity has been serving the Hospital Trust for 17 years and has given over £60m funding for specialist equipment, medical research, enhancements to the hospital environment, and staff wellbeing and support programmes.

About the role 
We are looking for someone who wants to make a real and lasting difference to people’s lives, taking the lead on generating the income required to deliver the Farm’s services and maintain our central functions and infrastructure. With support from the Farm’s Director, who is an experienced fundraiser, you will develop and implement the fundraising strategy for the Farm, leading on the delivery of key activities, initiatives and opportunities. 

You will confidently take on the leadership of the Farm’s well-established fundraising from trusts and foundations, growing our unrestricted income base and attracting multi-year funding to support our projects. Your experience will also enable you to take the lead on establishing a new individual giving programme for the Farm, creating and implementing a stewardship strategy alongside the Marketing, Events & Communications Operational Manager. We anticipate that the postholder will spend 75% of their time managing and growing our existing trusts and foundations portfolio and 25% on building a new individual giving programme. We are looking for someone with experience (or demonstrable transferable skills and knowledge) and a willingness to work on both areas. 

As a member of the Farm’s Leadership Team, you will work closely with the Director and Operational Managers to ensure that our fundraising strategy enables us to deliver against our objectives, as well as supporting project managers and other staff to contribute to the development of relevant fundraising opportunities.

Camphill is a worldwide movement with over 100 independent charities (often referred to as 'communities') supporting individuals with additional support needs to lead meaningful lives and to reach their fullest potential. The organisation began here, in Scotland, in 1939 through a group of Austrian refugees. They sought societal change in the way disadvantaged and vulnerable people were treated and cared for. 

There are 11 Camphill charities in Scotland, from Aberdeen to Dumfries and Galloway, supporting over 500 people from early childhood through to older age. In Aberdeen, Camphill Estates owns the land occupied by 6 of them. They are independent charities but work together under the Camphill Estates umbrella for the common good. 

Historically, Camphill Estates had one Fundraising Manager to generate voluntary raised funds and to support all of the communities to fundraise for themselves.  This all changed three years ago when this new post was created, representing a sea change in the organisation’s thinking. 

It followed a master plan which was drawn up with the help of consultants who reviewed the needs of the estate. This process produced a lengthy list of capital build projects for 5 of the 6 charities that are necessary to improve the buildings and the opportunities for the service users. The cost of delivering those projects was an estimated £15million with the focus on improvements to Camphill School and the residential units. 

A highly experience fundraiser was appointed to create and lead the capital campaign to raise the required £15m funding, within a ten-year period.  Three years on, the campaign has met with great success - £4.5m has been raised already.  They also built a very strong and focussed fundraising team of five, raised the profile of the campaign in the local area and built strong working relationships with all the five partner charities.

Sadly, the current capital appeal fundraiser is moving on from Camphill Estates to live overseas, and Camphill Estates are looking for a new senior fundraiser to lead the appeal and carry on the good work. In the three years since the appeal was launched, further capital requirements have emerged, and a new charity (Murtle Market) has been created.   The appeal total has therefore been reset at £15m and again, ten years has been set as the timescale.

The Board has set aside a healthy budget which allows the Director of Fundraising to build a team to deliver success.   It will be up to the Director to devise a strategy and manage the team of five fundraisers to reach the new income goal. 

Crucially, Board do not see this appeal as an end in itself.  Such a varied and evolving group of charities will always have a capital fundraising requirement and are therefore happy to offer this role as a permanent position, not linked to the current appeal target or length.

UNIVERSITY OF OXFORD - Senior Fundraising Executive

We are looking for an experienced fundraiser, to lead on Neuroscience related fundraising for the Departments of Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences as part of the friendly team working across the Medical Sciences Division at the University of Oxford.

The Medical Sciences Division at Oxford has been ranked number one in the world for the last twelve years in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for clinical, pre-clinical and health sciences. Recent accomplishments of the Medical Sciences Division include its research into the COVID-19 pandemic, most notably through the delivery of the Oxford–AstraZeneca vaccine, which is estimated to have saved over 6 million lives.

About the role:

This fundraiser will work closely with the Heads of Departments and academics in the Departments of Psychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences. The post will focus primarily on funding for research, academic posts, scholarships and infrastructure related to Neuroscience which includes Mental Health and neurological disease (e.g. Motor Neurone Disease, Dementia, Parkinson’s, Stroke and Epilepsy). The fundraiser will work on special projects including the possible major capital redevelopment of the Warneford site. While an interest in medical research and neuroscience is essential, you do not need to be a sciences graduate, just an enthusiast for knowledge.

You are an experienced development professional with a strong track record of securing major gifts, a confident approach and the ability to think creatively. You will lead on major gift fundraising (£100k-£1m+) working with a range of donors (corporates, trusts and individuals).

The role 

We have experienced an exponential growth in income from public fundraising leading to an increased awareness of fuel poverty. To build on this success and maintain increased unrestricted income from a wider fundraising mix, we are recruiting a new Fundraising Assistant to offer vital support for all fundraising activities. You will have demonstrable experience of working in fundraising, business development, customer service or a similar background.

With such an array of opportunities you will need to have a high attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and be exceptionally organised.

You should be based in Newcastle upon Tyne or within a commutable distance, with some infrequent travel on an ad-hoc basis.

ROLE DETAILS 

Standing Voice is looking for an experienced Fundraising Manager based in or near London to join our UK team. This is an exciting and challenging role in a creative and focused working environment, within an organisation with multiple programmes and funding streams across 3 countries. This position suits an ambitious and experienced fundraiser, equipped with excellent written and oral communication skills and a depth of donor management experience. 

The successful candidate will report to the Executive Director and be tasked with advancing & implementing Standing Voice’s Fundraising Strategy including writing grants proposals; diversifying & scaling-up the organisation’s income streams; and managing donor relations and reporting. As well as working alongside UK fundraising, programmes and finance colleagues, the Fundraising Manager will work directly with our teams in Tanzania and Malawi to design and generate project proposals. 

Suitable candidates will demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills; a high level of organisation and accuracy in their work; and concrete experience of generating income through trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, institutional donors, philanthropy partnerships, and individual giving. Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop SV’s Fundraising Strategy

• Identify, research and implement innovative funding methods to diversify and strengthen SV’s income base

• Secure funding from a diverse portfolio of new and existing donors, including: trusts and foundations; corporate partnerships; institutional donors; philanthropy partnerships; and individual giving

• Host meetings with philanthropists and foundation directors to generate interest in SV’s work and secure support 

• Manage SV’s grant research to maintain a database of viable funding opportunities for the organisation

• Lead the development and writing of concept notes, proposals, presentations and pitches to prospective donors

• Draft funder reports in collaboration programmes and finance teams, and manage report submissions in line with funder agreements

• Work effectively with the Head of Programmes and Partnerships and Finance Manager to collate project information, in order to enhance funding applications and reports

• Manage SV’s donor management tools

• Build relationships with our donors to foster long-term partnerships

• Identify and execute funding campaigns, including our annual Big Give Christmas match funding challenge

• Track and monitor fundraising progress, trends, and insights, and provide reports to executive management and the Board of Trustees

• Recruit new staff and volunteers to the fundraising team in line with available budget

• Delegate effectively to fundraising team members, ensuring tasks are clearly defined, properly supported and well monitored 

• Remain abreast of current trends in fundraising and donor interests

• Adhere to the Code of Fundraising Practice and all internal policies at SV

• Undertake any other reasonable duties at the request of the line manager

The Volunteer Administration Executive will sit within the CoppaFeel! Education Team and will work closely with the Volunteer Community Executive and the Volunteer Community Manager. They will provide administrative support volunteer recruitment and onboarding; induction and training; support and supervision; and reward and recognition.

This is a remote-first role, which means you aren’t expected to come into the office. The only days you would be required to attend the office would be for our quarterly team meetings, quarterly department meetings and in person training. We will provide plenty of notice for when you are required to be in the office. Although the role is remote-first we have an office space where you are also welcome to work from.

About our volunteer community

We have over 250 volunteers involved in our core education volunteer programmes as well as opportunities across fundraising and events. Our volunteers include university students, former fundraisers and supporters. 

Volunteers are at the heart of our community value and play a vital role in helping us to deliver our key education programmes. The main aim of this role is to ensure our volunteers have a positive experience during their time with us and are supported to spread our lifesaving message.

About CoppaFeel!

CoppaFeel! exists to educate and remind every young person in the UK that checking their chest isn’t only fun, it could save their life. We are the first breast cancer charity in the UK to create awareness amongst young people, with the aim of instilling a new  healthy habit that could one day save their life. We are a small team which, collectively, has one almighty big voice. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Play a key role in overseeing the day to day administration of volunteer programmes
• Be the key contact and link between volunteers and external organisations who wish to book an awareness talk, stall or other volunteer-involving activity
• Communicate with volunteers, assisting with questions and requests through the management of shared email inboxes
• Coordinate bookings and scheduling for awareness talks, stalls or other volunteer-involving activity using our volunteer management platform and related digital tools
• Support the Volunteer Community Executive with the administration of recruitment, induction, onboarding, training and supervision of volunteers, including support for community events.
• Oversee the administration for thanking volunteers across the teams, taking an active role in CoppaFeel! thanking events, gifting and post
• Maintain volunteer records using our database and report against volunteer activity
• Manage volunteer kit including monitoring stock, ordering and reviewing resources
• Process volunteer travel and expense claims
• Assist with the administration for the set up and delivery of new projects and volunteer opportunities
