Job Title: Head of Member Acquisition and Engagement
Reports To: Associate Director: Partnerships
Salary: £40,000- £44,000 FTE (pro-rata based on hours) depending on experience
Contract: Part-time, permanent. We are open to discussing flexible working options.
Hours: 21 hours per week (0.6 FTE).

This role will support us to deliver an excellent service to our members and those engaged with our CPD pathways, publications and research activity.
Requirements
We are looking to recruit a Head of Member Acquisition and Engagement on a part-time contract. This is an exciting new role that will play a key part in our continued growth and will make a real impact on the teaching profession; we are looking for someone who believes in our mission and the work we do.
Working closely with the Deputy Chief Executive, Associate Director: Partnerships and the Marketing and Communications Manager, the Head of Member Acquisition and Engagement will take a lead on activity related to attracting and retaining our individual teacher members, including developing, rolling out and evaluating recruitment and retention programmes, initiatives and campaigns for current and prospective members. The successful candidate will be confident using data to inform decision-making and monitor progress towards membership growth targets and have the ability to work well independently and within a team.

Main area of work
The majority of your time will be spent developing, implementing and evaluating strategies to secure individual membership growth, including through retaining current members and attracting new members.
The role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships externally and working with a range of colleagues across the organisation. You’ll be an expert on our products and services, and you’ll use our CRM system and other data sources to understand membership trends, challenges and opportunities.
You will ensure the Chartered College of Teaching is responsive to the needs of the sector, making sure that we understand our members and ensuring that every member gets maximum value from engagement with our products and services.
Additional areas of work
- Working closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager, planning recruitment campaigns and strategising content and resources for membership initiatives
- With the Associate Director: Partnerships, ensuring join-up between group membership sales and individual member sales
- Promoting and representing the Chartered College to potential members at events
- Working with the Membership Manager to ensure a seamless experience for members from their first interaction with us
- Recording, presenting, formatting and analysing data in a variety of ways to report to colleagues and stakeholders, including against KPIs.
- Performing other activities as and when required to support the wider team to achieve the charity’s goals.
Alongside your main areas of work, you will also participate in meetings and be encouraged to participate in CPD learning activities and training to maintain and develop your knowledge and skills.
You don’t need to have expertise in absolutely all areas, but we’re looking for someone who is motivated by our vision and truly passionate about membership growth and supporting teachers. Systems you would be using include Salesforce, DotDigital, Google Workspace, Zoom, Submittable and Slack.
Experience and skills:
- Experience in a sales or business development role (essential), with experience of membership or subscription sales highly desirable
- Experience working in the education sector (highly desirable)
- Experience of developing, delivering and evaluating sales initiatives and campaigns (essential)
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills (essential)
- Experience of Salesforce or other CRM systems (essential)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (desirable)

Job Purpose:
The Fundraising and Administration Officer role primarily focuses on providing excellent supporter care and administrative support within the fundraising department. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining supporter relations, optimising fundraising efforts, and ensuring efficient administrative processes are in place.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporter Care:
- To be a first point of contact for the Fundraising Department, answering the phone and meeting and greeting people who arrive to the office.
- Respond to enquiries from supporters, prospective supporters and volunteers via telephone, e-mail, and post, maintaining excellent supporter relations.
- Ensure timely and appropriate acknowledgments, using both standard and bespoke correspondence.
- To adhere to administrative procedures to ensure the delivery of a high-quality service which is compliant with all relevant legislation, policies, regulations, and guidelines.
- Provide admin support for Direct Mail letters and appeals, including the use of mail merge, when required.
- Assist with the ongoing stewardship of Regular Givers.
Community Fundraising:
- Co-ordinate the recruitment and appropriate use of volunteers to support fundraising.
- Develop relationships with volunteer fundraisers, with the aim of maximising the funds they raise through challenges, events and talks.
- Support the formation of volunteer fundraising groups.
- Support ongoing and new events within the UK, which may include occasional weekend and evening work.
- Take the lead with the co-ordination and administration of public collections in the UK.
- Take the lead in monitoring fundraising merchandise, and liaise with suppliers, for fundraising materials, including Christmas Cards.
Digital Marketing:
- Support in developing UK digital fundraising opportunities.
- Administer digital acquisition campaigns in the UK e.g. through digital advertising, to generate new donors.
Database Management (Training will be provided):
- Create and maintain contact records on Salesforce, ensuring supporter information is kept up to date by recording changes to mailing preferences, gift aid eligibility and contact details etc.
- Database maintenance and housekeeping e.g. identifying and merging duplicate records, removing, or archiving redundant data, adhering to GDPR protocols.
Finance Administration (Training will be provided):
- Efficiently process and reconcile incoming donations, received daily by post, online and phone. Bank cheques and cash on a weekly basis, and process credit card and CAF donations.
- Record all donations to Salesforce, ensuring the accurate coding of income to the correct source and supporter.
- Administer new Direct Debit instructions.
- Support monthly and quarterly reports demonstrating fundraising income received against budget, to inform the management team and provide accurate forecasting.
- Scan and upload credit card statements and invoices for payment by the Finance team.
- Record and reconcile petty cash expenditure.
- Assist the Finance team in the reconciliation of all income received, responding to any queries.
General Office Administration:
- Order office stationery and fundraising supplies, as required.
- Co-ordinate general office maintenance, as required.
- Arrange accommodation for staff travel to Shrewsbury.

Campaign Management

Finance and Reporting

· Non-financial KPI trend reporting - such as opt-in rates and quality scoring.

The Role

As our first in-house resourcing specialist, you'll lead on recruitment, talent management and workforce planning across our expanding, multi-site organisation. HOURS: You’ll work 37.5 days per week Monday to Friday. We can consider 30 hours per week (across at least four days) if you would like to work part-time.

The role will work across both businesses following their partnership agreement in January 2023. ICT / HR
- Leading on the development and delivery of an effective ICT and Telecoms Strategy which supports mobile and agile working and customer relationship management that underpins our drive for excellent business

We have an exciting opportunity to join the thriving and dynamic SARSAS team as our Fundraising Manager.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to help SARSAS realise it’s vision of a world without sexual violence, through our ambitious strategy to extend our preventive programmes and maintain our essential high-quality services. Through developing and expanding income generated through trust and grants, corporate giving and individual giving, you will help us to be part of the systems change to end gender-based violence.
You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and team leads to understand funding priorities, identify potential funders and donors and develop compelling funding bids, proposals and appeals. This will include collaboration to develop partnership proposals.
You will undertake new prospect research and develop and nurture excellent donor relationships. You will seek opportunities to strengthen and build on existing and lapsed funding relationships and be proactive about identifying further development opportunities.
In order to realise our ambitions, we need to extend our programme of fundraising growth, so we can increase our annual income from circa £3 million to in excess of £3.5 million.
About you

Key responsibilities
Fundraising delivery and development
- Develop, monitor and manage a fundraising portfolio capable of generating in excess of £500k per annum, establishing a fundraising pipeline and a range of KPI’s that can be tracked and will enable you to make informed projections regarding future income.

Staff management
