Senior Programme Manager

We are seeking a Senior Programme Manager to lead a flagship initiative shaping how capital markets deliver better outcomes for children and future generations.

Salary: £56,000–£65,000 (dependent on experience) + 30 days’ annual leave (pro rata) and 10% employer pension
Location: Central London (hybrid – 60% office / 40% home)
Contract: 12-month fixed term - (4 or 5 days per week)

About the role

This is a senior, high-impact position leading a flagship “Investing for Future Generations” Lab, focused on transforming how capital markets understand and respond to children’s lives and outcomes.

You will shape and deliver a market-leading programme designed to embed children’s outcomes into investment decision-making, moving them from a moral concern to a recognised financial consideration. Acting as a central coordinating “backbone”, you will bring together investors, policymakers and partners to drive system-level change.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the strategy, theory of change and delivery roadmap for the Lab
• Building and coordinating a high-impact cross-sector coalition
• Managing programme budgets, governance, risks and reporting
• Producing practical outputs such as investor frameworks, policy papers and insights

About the IRM

The Independent Review Mechanism for England (IRM) provides, on behalf of the Secretary of State for Education, review panels for potential and current foster carers and adopters when agencies have decided not to approve them as a foster carer or adopter, or to terminate or change the terms of their approval.

As an IRM Medical Advisor you will be providing written medical advice to caseworkers, panel members and the Contract Manager about individual applicant and their suitability to foster/adopt as well as ad hoc advice on occasions.

Usually, the need for a medical advisor’s report is requested either after:

• Health issues are identified which have been a primary concern for the agency and given as reasons in the qualifying determination letter
• The agency documents indicate health issues have been identified which may affect a person’s suitability to foster or adopt but this has not been initially noted as a primary concern for the agency
• During the course of preparing for an IRM panel, the applicant/s have a medical emergency which then needs to be considered alongside other concerns regarding suitability
• A request for information which may relate to a specific condition or general information, not related directly to the applicant/s

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 

Individual Giving 

• Lead the planning, execution and optimisation of individual giving efforts. Manage campaign setup, timelines, assets, and donor experience.  

• Monitor performance and analyse results to drive continuous improvement in participation, engagement, and revenue.  

• Collaborate with Admissions and Marketing, and other internal teams, to source and develop compelling content.

IDEAL CANDIDATE 

Essential: 

• Relevant degree, professional qualification or equivalent professional experience  

• Demonstrable experience in Individual Giving, Direct Marketing or Legacy fundraising, with an annual income return of 6+ figures  

• Proven track record of delivering successful multi-channel campaigns  

• Strong understanding of supporter journeys, acquisition and retention  

• Skilled in data analysis, performance tracking and forecasting   

• Proficiency with graphic design tools, experience with Canva would be an advantage.  

• Demonstrable experience with Raisers Edge, or similar CRM system 

• Ability to manage complex projects and programs and deliver to set KPI and timelines

The Role

You will implement Canine Partners’ trusts strategy with the aim of developing relationships to expand the funding base of trusts and grant givers, and increase overall giving. The Woodland Trust is looking for a Permanent Head of Campaigning and Programmes to lead our work mobilising public support for our vision of a world where woods and trees thrive for people and nature. 

The Role:
•    The Head of Programmes and Campaigning leads our UK-wide campaigning activity and several strategic delivery programmes including, but not restricted to, 
o    Trees For All, 
o    Woods Under Threat and 
o    Free Trees for Schools and Communities. 
•    The post holder will manage the teams delivering these campaigns and programmes and is responsible for achieving ambitious targets to mobilise both new and existing supporters and deliver strategic programme objectives.
•    As a Senior Leader, the role will contribute to the development and implementation of the Trust’s strategy, supporting the success of the Trust and its objectives.  
•    The post holder will work closely and collaboratively at all levels within the Trust to achieve this.
•    This is a hybrid position with a mix of home working, and from our head office in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Head office attendance would be required between 6 and 8 times per year.  Occasional travel to other offices and remote locations as well as overnight stays may also be required.
•    This is a permanent, full time position.

The Candidate:
•    Passionate about nature recovery, climate action, and equitable access to trees and green spaces, with a strong commitment to the charity’s mission, values, and ethical principles.
•    A sound understanding of campaigning and supporter mobilisation processes and of the role of campaigning as part of broader integrated influencing strategies and tactics.
•    An experienced, competent and empathetic senior leader with a proven ability to inspire and develop a growing team.
•    A proven organised, systematic approach to project and programme management with the ability to demonstrate working collaboratively across different teams to achieve successful outcomes.
•    A skilled and experienced relationship builder, with the proven ability to build, develop  and influence a range of audiences and represent the Woodland Trust at a senior level internally and externally.
•    Experience identifying, developing and leading campaigns, including partnership campaigns, ideally within the voluntary sector.
•    Highly developed influencer with demonstrable experience of effective collaboration with stakeholders at a variety of levels within a complex organisations.

We are seeking an experienced and strategic finance professional for this newly created position, which will strengthen our growing Finance team and offer a rare opportunity to lead high-impact consultancy projects across sectors such as housing, local government, and social care.

Reporting to the Finance Director, who leads this consultancy workstream, you’ll work directly with clients to provide expert financial advice, strategic business planning, and performance reviews. The role includes leading consultancy assignments from end to end, guiding multidisciplinary project teams, and helping clients navigate complex financial challenges with clarity and confidence. You’ll also support the continued development of our finance service offer and contribute to the company’s wider strategic direction.

About you

The ideal candidate will hold a recognised accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CIPFA, and will bring significant post-qualification experience in senior financial roles or financial consultancy.

You’ll have a strong track record in business planning, financial modelling, and strategic financial analysis, as well as experience working with complex, regulated organisations - such as in the housing, local government, or care sectors.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders are essential, along with sound professional judgement and a collaborative, values-driven approach.
