About the Role

We are looking for a Cleaner to join our Team.

Our 627 sqm facilities host over 40 members and staff each day, providing a vibrant space for support services, creative projects, and events. As our Cleaner, you will be responsible for the cleaning and general upkeep of the centre and offices of Headway East London. You will play a vital role in maintaining a welcoming, clean, and safe environment for our community. Your work will ensure that our centre is not only a functional space but a place where people feel valued and cared for.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Working with an agency cleaner to perform cleaning duties as per the cleaning schedule, to ensure satisfactory levels of cleanliness throughout the building.

• Contribute towards retaining our 5 Star rating kitchen standards by supporting the kitchen team with post lunch cleaning.

• Work flexibly to support with ad hoc cleaning around out of hours events.

• Update the admin team when supplies of consumables are running low, ensuring that basic supplies are always available.

• Update the Admin and Premises Manager with any observation of health and safety risks and concerns.

• Assist the Admin and Premises Manager to improve and maintain our health and safety standards.

• Secure the building at the end of the day.

In Preston, Resurgo is partnering with Preston Minster where Spear acts as a key part of the church’s mission to change the culture of the town by bringing hope to unemployed young people.

Preston Minster’s vision is to play their part in the re-evangelisation of the nation, the revitalisation of the church, and the transformation of society. In 2019 they were sent from Holy Trinity Brompton, London, to help people in Preston find their home, find their purpose and transform their city. A vibrant church in the heart the city centre, with a mission to see lives changed by Jesus. The important stuff 

Salary: £25,000 pro rata, plus defined contribution pension scheme

Hours: Part time, 20 hours per week, between 9.30am – 5.30pm, Monday – Thursday (with some flexibility and occasional evening or weekend work for events such as Spear Celebrations)

Key Responsibilities

Spear Programme

• Lead group sessions of up to 10 young people, using coaching skills to transform their mindsets, and to maximise their potential in stepping into the world of work
• Prepare and deliver coaching sessions on a weekly basis and find creative ways of developing ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees. This includes running application workshops with past Trainees as well as maintaining records and reporting on statistics

Relationship management

• Build and manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, and other organisations
• You will support with job fairs, mock interview days and welcoming external visitors to the centre

Church Community

• The Spear Coach is directly employed by Preston Minster, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community
• You will be required to establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement and backing of church members
• Supporting the Centre Manager in ensuring Spear is a key missional feature of the work of the church; this may involve attending church events and speaking at services
   

Centre operations

• Support the wider Spear team and senior leadership team in developing the financial sustainability of Spear Preston e.g. gathering data for funding applications, organising community fundraising events
• Work with relevant members of the ministry team, particularly youth and student ministries to further embed Spear into the life of the church
• Liaise with relevant staff locally on-site issues and work to resolve them as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training rooms are safe and tidy working spaces in line with health and safety policies and safeguarding issues are reported in a timely manner

£28,000 - £32,900 per year

What we want from you

We’re looking for a curious, motivated Data Insight Analyst to join our dynamic Customer Insight Team.

If you’re someone who loves using data to solve real-world problems and help shape organisational strategy, you could be just who we’re looking for. You’ll need to be comfortable working with large datasets, putting your data mining and analytical skills to good use.

Experience-wise, we're looking for someone familiar with analytics tools like Tableau, Faststats, or similar. You should also be comfortable with SQL and skilled at making the most of data from a variety of sources. First-hand experience with CRM systems such as Raiser’s Edge would be advantageous, especially in the charity sector, and if you're curious about data science or even have experience in this area, even better.

As well as excellent analytical skills, you’ll have a naturally inquisitive mind and a passion for problem-solving. We’re looking for a strong communicator, comfortable at delivering your analysis outcomes whether that’s to a room of colleagues or one on one with stakeholders, your ability to convey complex insights in a clear and compelling way will be highly valued.

Tasks and Responsibilities

You will support the Director of Operations and the wider staff team by:

• Handling day-to-day administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, booking travel and venues, ordering supplies, and keeping systems and records up to date.

The direction of travel should be broadly determined by our recent strategic review.

You will work closely with our CEO and our Board of Directors to prioritise project ideas. You will develop partnerships, refine project ideas, identify sources of funding (Trusts and Grantmakers, Corporate Giving), draft bids and cost delivery on a full cost recovery basis, submit bids and if funding is awarded, mobilise the team to deliver the work. This role provides a big and exciting challenge for someone who knows the energy sector, understands the opportunity of community and grassroots solutions, who brings excellent written communication skills and is willing to learn how to fundraise.

Responsibilities:

Grant Fundraising Support:

• Work with the Selce community (the board, staff, volunteers and other stakeholders) to generate new project ideas that support our strategic mission 
• Research and identify potential grant-making trusts, foundations, and statutory bodies that will fund project proposals
• Prepare high-quality grant applications; this includes calculating budget requirements, formulating proposals, writing proposals
• Manage the grant administration process and maintain accurate records of funding opportunities and applications in the fundraising calendar.

Commissioned Work & Tendering Support:

• Assist in researching and identifying opportunities for commissioned work.
• Support the preparation of tender documents and proposals, including gathering necessary information, budgeting and formatting submissions.
• Provide administrative support for contract negotiation and agreement finalisation.

Community Share Capital

• Draft community share offer brochures and associated documentation
• Support the implementation of strategies to raise community share capital.

Skills & Experience:

The ability to imagine and innovate and thereby build fundable project-based solutions working in partnership with stakeholders is more important that fundraising experience per se. This post would suit an Energy Policy graduate that has experience of either community energy or journalism (and therefore brings strong writing skills) or environmental projects

• Knowledge of the Energy Sector: Understand the energy markets and the energy industry. Also bring a good understanding of community energy, fuel poverty, and energy efficiency
• Strong Writing Skills: Ability to write clear, concise, and compelling content for proposals, reports, and communications.

We’re looking for a flexible, compassionate and organised Project Worker to join us from October. You’ll support our Winter Night Shelter, assist with guest services and casework, and lead on communications through social media and newsletters.

This varied role offers a unique insight into frontline homelessness work, while building skills in project delivery, volunteer management, and digital content creation.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Staffing 2 evening shelter shifts per week (Nov–Apr)

• Supporting volunteers and guests during shelter operations

• Assisting guests with appointments and move-on support

• Managing bookings for showers, laundry, and wellbeing sessions

• Running C4WS social media accounts and producing content

• Providing admin and reporting support to the team

• Helping with community programmes and practical logistics

Personal Specification: 

Essential skills, knowledge and qualities: 

1. Experience of working in a customer, member or client facing role

3. Experience of using a CRM management system, preferably Salesforce
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to positively communicate with a wide range of people in a professional setting, with demonstrable ability to communicate effectively in challenging situations

6. The ability to analyse data and produce reports
7. The ability to take a proactive approach to independent working, managing your own workstreams effectively, and the confidence to take responsibility for tasks and decisions

About the Role

As Team Leader, you will be directly involved in managing a 4 bed specialist short stay Home and looking after children aged 12 to 18 years old with complex needs; including Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), Mental Health Disorders, Substance Dependencies and Learning Disabilities.

Whether shift leading or joining in with daily activities, you will also share in the leadership of the team, helping to develop staff by modelling high standards of professionalism. 

The successful candidate will have:

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care or equivalent
•  GCSE English and Maths grades A-C.
• One year’s experience working at a level of responsibility with children and young people in a residential setting.
• An understanding of the regulatory framework relating to the provision of residential services for children and young people.
• Good understanding of the needs and risks regarding children in care.
• An understanding of trauma  informed practice.
• Experience of taking on leadership responsibilities in a teamwork setting.
• Ability to build genuine and trusting relationships with young people maintaining at all times high personal and professional standards.
• Excellent communication and team working skills.
• Ability to work shifts, including alternate weekend working and occasional sleep ins.
