Global Strategic Events Manager
About us
We are an independent, global organisation of investigators and campaigners using cutting edge investigative methods. We shine a light on the financial and political systems that enable corporate abuses of power that harm people and planet.
About the role
Events play an important role in raising our profile, building relationships with funders and key stakeholders, and strengthening our campaigning and influence.
You’ll plan and deliver a diverse range of events, from donor gatherings and stakeholder briefings to high-profile panels and installations at major global convenings, including COP and London and New York Climate Weeks.
Working collaboratively with colleagues across Global Witness, including the CEO and Leadership Team, you’ll identify strategic opportunities, manage budgets and external suppliers, and ensure our events are engaging, inclusive and aligned with our organisational priorities.
You’ll combine excellent project management with creative thinking to maximise the impact of our events and make effective use of our resources.
The role will also involve developing internal guidance and processes to support colleagues in delivering high-quality events.
About you
You’ll have proven experience of managing events from conception through to delivery and evaluation, ideally across different countries, formats and audiences. You’ll be highly organised, with excellent project management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities, budgets and tight deadlines.
You’ll bring strong communication and relationship-building skills, with experience of working collaboratively with diverse internal and external stakeholders. You’ll be confident solving problems, managing unexpected challenges and identifying opportunities to improve how events are delivered. You’ll also understand the importance of creating inclusive, accessible and culturally sensitive experiences.
We’re particularly interested in candidates with experience of fundraising events and an interest in Global Witness’ work on climate, environmental protection and human rights would also be valuable.
