Senior Psychological Therapist

Salary: c£42,000 | Contract: Full-time, permanent | Location: Based at one of our centres in Penrith, Cumbria, Littlehampton, West Sussex or Chudleigh, Devon.

We are looking for a Senior Psychological Therapist to join our Services team and help shape psychologically informed support for the fire services community.

This is an opportunity to work autonomously within clear clinical frameworks, managing a focused caseload while receiving regular supervision and contributing to the development of group, early intervention and service improvement activity. 

About the role

• Conduct structured initial assessments, manage risk and formulate appropriate clinical pathways.
• Deliver brief, evidence-based psychological interventions on a 1:1 and group basis, online and face-to-face.
• Work with service users experiencing mild to moderate, and some emerging complex, mental health needs.
• Maintain high-quality clinical records and work within organisational policies, governance frameworks and ethical standards.
• Provide guidance, consultation and clinical support to colleagues, contributing to safe decision-making and effective care delivery.
• Support service development, including structured programmes, group interventions, outcome measures and psychoeducational content.

About you

You will bring a Level 5/6 qualification in counselling, psychotherapy or equivalent professional experience, alongside registration with a relevant professional body such as HCPC, UKCP, BABCP or BACP. 

You will have significant post-qualification experience of working with moderate to complex presentations, including trauma, comorbidity, safeguarding and clinical risk.

We are looking for someone who can work independently, adapt therapeutic approaches to meet individual needs, communicate sensitively with a wide range of stakeholders and contribute to a supportive, inclusive and reflective team culture.

Additional information

The role includes participation in the senior clinical escalation on-call rota, with a requirement to provide a minimum of six weeks of cover per year. Occasional daytime coverage for the Crisis Line may also be required to support team capacity and continuous service delivery. Occasional national travel may be required, and enhanced safeguarding checks will be undertaken.

We are looking for a proactive self-starter to sit within a high-performing team working to raise awareness of SSAFA’s support in the South West Region of England to those in the Armed Forces Community who need it most.

With the ultimate objective being to grow SSAFA’s presence, profile, and identity, the role is responsible for all marcomms activation in the region. The role holder will work to deliver the central Fundraising, Marketing & Communications strategy.

This role reports to the Head of Communications with close alignment with colleagues across the marcomms directorate. The marcomms manager will be responsible for managing marketing campaigns in the South West Region of England and promoting SSAFA’s fundraising initiatives and services. You’ll identify the areas of greatest impact and cut through, deliver integrated awareness campaigns and secure media coverage of fundraising events. Crucially, you’ll be able to identify stories which resonate with our target audience and write calls to action.

With a heavy focus on media and PR activity, key to the role is building strong relationships and contacts with relevant stakeholders in your region including media representatives, employees, volunteers, and case study beneficiaries.

About the team

The Communications team is a small but dynamic group of individuals with strong skillsets across Public Relations, Storytelling (case studies) and Internal Communications. The team is a mix of ex-forces and civilians, and they are always sharing knowledge and expertise with each other.

The General Assembly of Unitarian and Free Christian Churches (GA) is the central charity that supports its member congregations, ministers and societies in England, Scotland and Wales. This is a new role, being the operational engine to strengthen the organisation at a time of change. Shifts in the wider Unitarian movement with patterns of innovation, rebuilding, and growth alongside congregational vulnerabilities and closures mean that the GA’s operational function must adapt. 

This role would suit someone who is excited to manage governance, systems, and data as strategic enablers in a values-driven organisation, who can drive change while delivering operational excellence.

What core skills and experience you’ll have 

Essential: 

• Senior operations leadership experience in a purpose-led or membership organisation, with a track record of building capacity through periods of organisational change. 

• Experience leading complex organisational change and systems transformation, including the people dimensions of change. 

• Experience managing contracted delivery of services by third parties 

• Financial literacy sufficient to own management accounts, lead a budgeting process, and act as a critical friend to trustees on financial governance.

• Must be comfortable interrogating financial information and holding external providers to account; accountancy qualification not required 

• Experience of leading the implementation or significant improvement of CRM, financial management, or other organisational systems — including managing migration risk 

• Experience of people management, and good HR / employment practice

About The Role

This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity to step into a senior leadership role within Supporter Services at a crucial point of transformation. As Senior Supporter Services Manager, you’ll act as deputy to the Head of Supporter Services, providing steady operational leadership across a busy, multi faceted function while a major CRM programme is delivered across Fundraising. It’s a role for someone who’s comfortable operating at pace, holding complexity, and making sure the day to day never loses momentum while change is happening around it.

Are you passionate about using GIS and data to support nature recovery?  Do you have strong technical skills, excellent attention to detail and  an interest in freshwater conservation?

This full-time, three-year fixed-term role will support the Data and Monitoring Team in maintaining accurate spatial and tabular datasets, developing and supporting GIS tools and workflows, and ensuring robust reporting to our funder and Natural England.

Working closely with our conservation delivery team, you will support the development and completion of compensation sites, maintain ArcGIS and QGIS tools, assist with data collection systems such as Survey123 and Field Maps, and help troubleshoot GIS-related issues. The Individual Giving Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to increase individual giving donations (regular giving and one-off donations at relatively lower level) and philanthropic support (major gifts from ‘philanthropists’). This role will involve building relationships with donors, managing fundraising campaigns (including targeted mailouts/email-outs, social media campaigns and events), and ensuring effective stewardship of donor contributions (‘looking after’ donors, communicating the difference their donations make, keeping them engaged to inspire further donations/increased support).

The role will also oversee our event fundraising include at the London Marathon.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute individual giving and philanthropy strategies to meet fundraising targets.

Single Homeless Project's (SHP’s) Camden Housing First service is expanding, and we’re looking for a passionate and skilled Project Worker to join an innovative team supporting people with long histories of rough sleeping, multiple exclusion and co-occurring needs. This includes a new and important focus on supporting couples who have been rough sleeping and will be accommodated separately in their own self-contained flats, while receiving intensive, relational and trauma-informed support.

Based from King’s Cross, you’ll work across the community and in people’s homes, carrying a small caseload so you can offer flexible, persistent and person-centred support that is shaped around each person’s strengths, safety, needs and goals. You’ll build trust with people who may have had difficult experiences of services, working at their pace while keeping a strong focus on housing sustainment, wellbeing, risk, choice and recovery.

You won’t be doing this work alone. You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team and will work closely with statutory services, housing partners and specialist colleagues including health, psychology, Solace, occupational therapy and perpetrator support. With safety at the heart of the work, you’ll play a key role in supporting people where relationships, trauma, exploitation, abuse or external risk may be part of their lives. • You have experience supporting people facing multiple disadvantage, including homelessness, trauma, mental ill health, substance use, contact with the criminal justice system or long-term exclusion from services.

• You understand the links between severe and multiple disadvantage, VAWG, coercion, abuse, exploitation and safety, and you can respond in a way that is trauma-informed, boundaried and safeguarding-focused.

Job Purpose

Carers Manchester Contact Point (CMCP) is the first point of contact for unpaid carers seeking information, advice and support to help them with their caring role.

The service delivers a free confidential helpline for carers Monday to Friday. Helpline opening times are subject to change, based on the needs and requirements of carers using the service.

The aim of this role is to be part of a team providing a comprehensive information, advice and support to carers in Manchester. The post holder will work alongside colleagues from Gaddum and potentially other organisations to be the first contact in a busy service providing advice via a telephone advice line and managing referrals made through digital sources. They will provide information and advice and refer more complex issues to the appropriate agencies delivering the Manchester Carers Pathway.

Key responsibilities 

Advice giving

· Answering telephone calls into a central helpline offering support and guidance to unpaid carers in Manchester.

· Provide relevant and meaningful support and information to unpaid carers utilising internal and external resources.

· Inform carers about carers assessments and refer where necessary.

· Inform carers about emergency grants available and refer where necessary.

· Ensure all advice and support given is delivered in a timely manner to suit the needs of carers calling the helpline whilst balancing waiting callers.

Follow-up support

· Refer unpaid carers to local services to access local and culturally appropriate support in their area.

· Refer carers to Adult Social Care for Carers Assessments to discuss and improve their caring situation.

· Signpost carers to relevant services in Manchester suited to their individual need.

· Complete relevant grant applications for carers using the service where needed.

· Use Carers Manchester Contact Point and other reliable and accurate resources to find, interpret and communicate relevant information to carers

· Research and explore options and implications so that carers can make informed decisions.

· Write and maintain detailed case records for all casework completed.

· Collect required data for statistical monitoring and report preparation.

· Complete the required training to comply with quality assurance processes.

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.

The post-holder will be required to undertake other tasks as reasonably directed by the CMCP Coordinator, which will usually be commensurate with the skills and experience of the post-holder.
