Job description

Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Events Fundraiser to join our fundraising team and help deliver an exciting programme of events that raises vital income for local children and families.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive, organised and relationship-focused fundraiser who enjoys bringing people together and creating memorable events that make a real difference.

About the role

As Events Fundraiser, you will plan, coordinate and deliver a diverse portfolio of fundraising events, managing them from initial concept through to successful delivery. You will take responsibility for event logistics, budgets, income and participation targets, supporter communications and stewardship.

You will work closely with colleagues across fundraising, communications and volunteering, as well as external suppliers, venues, sponsors and supporters, to ensure our events are safe, engaging and financially successful.

You will also have the opportunity to develop new event ideas, identify additional income opportunities and help grow long-term supporter engagement.

About you

We are looking for someone with proven experience of planning and delivering events, ideally within fundraising or the charity sector. You will be highly organised, able to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines, and confident working to income or participation targets.

You will have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to motivate supporters and provide outstanding supporter stewardship. Experience of managing budgets, suppliers and volunteers is important, as is a good understanding of event risk management and health and safety.

You will be confident using Microsoft Office and ideally have experience of CRM systems, particularly Salesforce. Experience of Canva or similar design software would also be beneficial.

Most importantly, you will be passionate about the work of Alexander Devine and committed to our values of Determination, Empowerment, Valuing Others, Integrity, Nurture and Empathy.

The role requires a full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes, together with flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends when events take place.

Why join Alexander Devine?

This is an opportunity to join a passionate and committed team and play a direct role in raising the funds needed to provide specialist care and support to babies, children and young adults with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions and their families.

If you are an energetic and creative events professional who wants to use your skills to make a genuine difference, we would love to hear from you.
