Role Overview
The Talent Set are delighted to partner with Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT) on a fantastic Head of Marketing & Communications role. We’re looking for an experienced marketing and communications professional who understands brand, and the role brand, marketing, and communications plays in enabling not only fundraising success, but success for the whole charity.
Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT) exists to make their outstanding hospitals even better. They raise vital funds to support Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie hospitals — connecting generous people with projects that go beyond the boundaries of NHS funding and help deliver the very best in patient care, clinical outcomes and research.
ACT is entering a defining chapter: alongside supporting their existing hospitals, they are helping to bring to life two once-in-a-generation pioneering new hospitals: the Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital and the Cambridge Children’s Hospital. Together, these hospitals will transform healthcare locally, nationally and globally, placing Cambridge at the heart of medical innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic planning and execution of brand, marketing and communication campaigns to raise awareness and enhance the charity’s reputation.
- Develop compelling messaging tailored to diverse audiences across various channels, including digital, print, and events.
- Manage the creation and delivery of content that reflects the organisation’s values and impact.
- Build and maintain relationships with media, partners, and stakeholders to maximise visibility.
- Oversee brand management, ensuring consistency and alignment with organisational goals.
- Monitor and analyse campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Lead, inspire, and coordinate a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality marketing initiatives.
- Stay informed on sector trends and incorporate innovative approaches to communications strategies.
Person Specification
- Proven experience in leading marketing, brand and communications functions within a charitable or similar environment.
- Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with a focus on measurable outcomes.
- Excellent team management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, partners, and external agencies.
- Demonstrable leadership and team management capabilities.
- Proficiency with digital marketing tools, social media platforms, and analytics software.
- Organisational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- A passion for the charity sector and commitment to the organisation's mission and values.
What’s on Offer
- Salary: £55,000-£60,000
- Permanent
- Hybrid, 2 days/week in Cambridge
