In recent years violent crime has risen significantly. Homicides, assaults, robberies and offences involving weapons have all seen sustained growth. We have also seen large increases in violent crime involving children and young people. This is a tragedy. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.
The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment and a mission that matters. We exist to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. Key responsibilities

Hybrid working details

This is an exciting and varied role requiring an eye for detail and engagement across all departments within the organisation. The Finance Manager is a key role, responsible for the day-to-day finances and responding to queries as they arise for the organisation. Reporting to and working closely with the Finance Director, the Finance Manager will ensure the systems and procedures in place that safeguard the Charity and its subsidiary companies (ESC Catering Ltd and Royal Court Theatre Productions Ltd) are the most effective they can be. They will share the ambition and enthusiasm to enable and drive change in the department to meet the needs of this busy producing theatre that is constantly evolving.
The Finance Manager line manages the Finance Assistant ensuring the transactional detail is accurately and efficiently processed in a timely manner. Working in a fully paperless operation the Finance Manager will take the lead on several of the systems used to produce all the records in Xero. The jobholder will also be a key player in producing for example: first draft Management Accounts, Catering accounts, departmental reports and help colleagues with analysis against budgets.

About this key role
As one of the Finance Assistants in the team, you will be responsible for providing day to day accounts and to process all transactions to Trial balance level. As part of your role your duties will include but are not limited to: producing a daily reconciliation of bank accounts (receipts and payments), advising the Finance Manager of weekly balance, raising customer invoices in a prompt manner, managing and monitoring all direct debits and processing monthly payroll and weekly wages.
What we are looking for:
- Significant experience of working in a similar finance role, including producing financial claims, monitoring finances and reconciling payments against claims
- Experience of working with Sage Line 50 or similar finance accounts package
- Experience of operating office and information systems such as diaries, word processing, spreadsheet, e-mailing, information searching
- Knowledge of relevant computer packages such as Word, Excel, Access, Power point and Outlook, with a minimum of intermediate level in MS Excel and Word
- Able to demonstrate a significant level of financial literacy
- Excellent communication skills

About the role
We have an opportunity for a Safeguarding Officer to join our very busy team!
The organisation has a strong safeguarding ethos promoting the overall safety, safeguarding and welfare of all of our members. We are seeking individuals who have experience of the voluntary youth or community sector or other relevant professional field and have direct practice experience of working with children & young people in a safeguarding context. You will have experience and knowledge of statutory requirements, understand Early Help and best practice guidance, relating to the safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
Our safeguarding team operates centrally in London where we are responsible for providing support, advice and guidance to our volunteers relating on all safeguarding matters across the UK. Our safeguarding Officers act as our lead professionals in managing safeguarding casework in line with our policy, procedures and statutory duty.
We aim high and strive for excellence in our practices to safeguard children, young people and adults at risk. We are continually evolving and seeking ways to improve and enhance our safeguarding practices and have a number of ambitious plans and projects to support this development as we move forward.
Whilst this is a Monday- Friday full time position, a flexible approach to work and working patterns is a must, as is the ability to work effectively and respond appropriately in challenging circumstances.

- Support, guide and coach SCC volunteers to implement a local response to safeguarding concerns
- Effective and skilful management of an allocated caseload
- Lead professional – Allegation Management
- Action referrals to statutory agencies e.g. Local Authority Designated Officer, Police, Children’s Services, Social Care or equivalent across the UK (including DBS, PVGS)
