To provide an open access front door for AUKEL services during office hours.

To provide information and advice to older people and their carers on matters of social welfare, housing, health and social care etc.

To triage and allocate referrals and/or bookings for the service teams ensuring that referrals for case work are appropriate and within the scope of our service.

To provide information, advice and support to older people and their carers enabling them to access services and remain independent.

Purpose of role:
Citizens Advice Welwyn Hatfield has a vacancy for a highly motivated Advice Service Manager to lead our advice team. You will be responsible for the supervision, quality and monitoring performance of the advice team, who deliver multi-channel advice (face to face, phone and digitally) to Welwyn Hatfield residents on a wide range of advice issues including welfare benefits, debt, housing, employment, and discrimination. You may also be required to deliver advice and session supervision when necessary.
You will also be responsible for all aspects of risk relating to advice delivery, complaints handling, safeguarding and GDPR.

JOB PURPOSE
To inspire people with mental health conditions to progress, and to gain and sustain paid employment. Some Employment Specialists will support clients with common (mild to moderate) mental health conditions (e.g. anxiety, depression), whilst others will support clients with more severe and enduring mental illness (e.g. schizophrenia, bipolar, personality disorders).
Depending on what clients are right for you to work with, you will either work across the local NHS primary or secondary care network alongside NHS clinicians to secure client referrals.
To work with clients with more serious mental illness, you will need to be comfortable supporting people who have experienced / are experiencing serious mental health challenges, as well as possibly other serious difficulties in their lives. Although you will receive full training and support, it’s important you are aware of the potential impact this may have on your own mental wellbeing.
All Employment Specialists will follow the 8 principles of IPS, adhere to the IPS Fidelity Scale and achieve monthly targets and KPIs with the required administration and compliance.
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Engage a caseload of clients with mental health problems and establish trusting, collaborative relationships to support them into employment in line with contract targets and IPS fidelity.
2. Assess clients’ employment support needs; implementing and adjusting employment plans as necessary to support each client’s desired outcomes along IPS requirements.
3. Develop and deliver a range of practical services to meet clients’ needs including career guidance, job searching, CV preparation, interview skills, individual coping techniques or work coaching.
4. Build a constant flow of referrals to ensure a dynamic caseload.
5. Conduct weekly employer engagement activity in line with IPS Fidelity.
6. Understand the complex issues a client may face, recognise holistic support needs and work in conjunction with clinical staff.
7. Facilitate access to expert financial advice on welfare benefits and ‘access to work’ resources.
8. Provide support and reasonable adjustments if required, to employed clients to support them to stay and progress in work.
9. As requested, attend clinical team meetings to provide advice and information on employment and IPS.
10. Collaborate with community partners to raise awareness of employment and mental health issues and promote access to the service.
11. Maintain accurate and up to date records of activity and outcomes in line with service requirements, ensuring the IT database is up to date and paperwork compliant.
12. Update and maintain NHS database (IAPTus).

We are hiring an established Deputy Manager looking to progress and utilise their own skills and experience to make meaningful change. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a cluster of services and teams. Our services support homeless adults with complex and enduring needs. OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Line Management and Leadership

Risk Management

- Alongside the Service Manager, champion, and act as a point of reference for safeguarding concerns within the service(s). Ensure all staff attend relevant safeguarding and training and use knowledge to coach and advise the team.
Property and Housing Management
- Ensure the accommodation in which residents live is clean and maintained to a high standard
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance issues are correctly reported and managed through to completion.
- Ensure a provision of high quality housing management service is provided to residents.
Financial Management
- Support the Service Manager in managing the service budget and review monthly management accounts: Set budgets and ensure resources are maximised.
- Promote effective cost control mechanisms and other financial activities.
- Maintain financial management within the service.
Other
- Some of what else is included: Contract management and Internal auditing, admin, and general other duties as required.

KEY CRITERIA
What we are looking for:
- Understanding and/or experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, challenging behaviours
- Experience of working with and engaging with diverse groups of people from varying backgrounds
- IT Proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to navigate and learn new case management systems and other types of organisational software.

TAWS is an organisation in which change is a constant, and the successful candidate will need to be able to prioritise and change priorities very quickly. The HR Adviser will deputise for the Head of HR with the aspiration to be their successor in due course.

Main duties
- Work with our managers and leaders to deliver their people priorities. Aligning with the core TAWS values
- Support and coach Managers with ER matters, but ultimately work with managers to design systems and processes that encourage managers to take ownership of managing their teams
- Support managers and all employees to take ownership of their own performance, careers and learning using and enhancing TAWS systems.
- Produce and assist with analysis of people data and metrics
- Work with managers to identify and develop their talent and support succession and talent management processes.
- Support the Head of People in the handling of full employee lifecycle administration – including on-boarding, flexible working requests, family friendly issues, absence management, contractual issues, administration of the HRIS (currently Sage), benefits administration, occupational health, DBS checking maintenance, off-boarding and whatever else may appear.
- Work with the Head of HR and managers in respect of people related projects which may be initiated from time to time.
- Work with the Finance team with regard to payroll delivery (extent depending on experience).
- Deliver Diversity and Inclusion interventions to raise awareness, encourage open and honest conversations and allow our people to be themselves at work
- Work with people managers to support them to identify, build relationships with and attract future talent
Knowledge, skills and experience
Good general operational HR experience – CIPD level 5 (or equivalent experience). Experience in 3rd sector and/or a SME organisation would enable you to understand quickly the challenges and the opportunities. But what is more important is that you have the confidence to take responsibility and the agility to change in direction.

Our Archive collection contains both official and personal documents which reflect the experience of those who have served with the RAF and its predecessor organisations. It also includes technical drawings and material. Public Records are held and the Museum is a Place of Deposit.
The Archivist is a key member of the Archive, Library and Research team contributing to making the collection accessible to our audiences.
