What you’ll be doing

As our HR Administrator you’ll play a key part in ensuring our candidates have a smooth onboarding from start to finish.

Day to day, your to-do list will be filled with everything from initiating references and DBS checks through to creating offer letters and employment contracts, and ensuring new employee’s details are entered into our payroll system accurately so they can be paid correctly.

We are a small, friendly, and busy team. While there is a plenty of work to do and a high standard of accuracy required, we all work together to achieve what needs to be done.

The Salvation Army are partnering with the University of Stirling via the Salvation Army Centre for Addiction Services and Research to deliver a trial for the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). This unique and innovative social care trial will examine the effectiveness and cost effectiveness of a Peer Navigator/peer support intervention for people experiencing homelessness and problems with substance use. We are now looking for a Peer Navigator (lived experience practitioner) within our Homelessness service to deliver a relationship-based intervention to those experiencing drug and alcohol problems and homelessness, providing both practical and emotional support.

The primary responsibility of this role is to facilitate and coordinate employment case-working support for CTP (Assist), Service Leavers (SLs) and Veterans, up to 2 years post-discharge and job role reports to CTP (Assist) Manager. The goal is to assist them in finding appropriate and sustainable civilian employment or other suitable vocational outcomes.

The Role is based at MoD Personnel Recovery Centre (Catterick) / MoD Personnel Recovery Unit (PRU Catterick) and hybrid.

This part-time, permanent position involves a 28-hour work week and offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of Service Leavers (SLs) and Veterans.

​

The first round of interviews will be conducted face-to-face at Catterick PRC on 21st June 2024.

Principal Responsibilities:

​

• Deliver specialist vocational case-working support to allocated CTP (Assist) clients in order that they achieve their Preferred Vocational Outcomes (PVOs).
• Provide effective CTP (Assist) case working support using the CTP (Assist) Work instructions and database.
• As a member of the Recovery Units CTP (Assist) casework handling team, work with relevant MoD staff to deliver the employment aspects of CTP (Assist) Individual Recovery Plans (IRPs).
• Act as the CTP (Assist) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to PRU staff and local units, working alongside another SEC.
• Provide career, employment advice and guidance to allocated CTP (Assist) clients in accordance with their IRPs and Vocational Assessment (VA) provided under CTP.
• Coordinate CTP (Assist) client access to training opportunities, supporting their applications for additional training grants as necessary.
• Identify and source suitable Personnel on Recovery Duty (PRD) specific work based training and work experience opportunities within the geographical area in accordance with their IRPs. 
• Ensure all CTP (Assist) employment, training and vocational opportunities sourced are fed into the affiliated regional Employer Relationship Manager (ERM), thus ensuring a joined up and integrated CTP employer engagement approach.
• Delivery/Facilitation of SEC components of Recovery Transition Workshop courses and support CTW+/CRE courses as requested.
• Identify and subsequently engage with Training and Adult Education providers to identify opportunities that meet clients’ requirements in accordance with IRPs.
• As required, provide in work support to ensure client vocational outcomes are sustainable.
• Monitor successful employment placement success for CTP (Assist) clients as a key component of overall outcomes.
• When required and appropriate, work closely with regional teams such as:

•            CTP Regional Resettlement Centre (RRC) & Career Consultants (CCs)

•             Future Horizon Employment Advisor (s)

•             FEC Ex-Forces Employment Advisors (Veterans)

• Maintain accuracy and integrity in all interactions with the CTP BMS, Job site, and the CTP website and tools, ensuring timely recording of all client and employer engagement activity.
• Attend MDT’s and work with wider organisations in order to support the PRD you are working with (when required).
• ​Co-ordinate employment and vocational aspects of the recovery process with other supporting military charities.

What you will be doing

This role supports the delivery of our Individual Giving programme, specifically in support of our Puppy Sponsorship Scheme. The delivery of exceptional supporter care across multiple channels lies at the heart of the Supporter Services team and forms an integral part of the Individual Giving retention strategy. In many instances, you will be the first line of enquiry either by telephone, email, social media, or letter (and occasionally face-to-face) for Hearing Dogs’ supporters.

• Present a professional, positive, and proactive approach to supporter care and adherence to best practice regarding stewardship and supporter engagement.
• Be proactive in stewardship process improvement and development, maintaining up-to-date guidance notes for areas of your work.
• Ensure all interactions with supporters are logged in the CRM system and where appropriate passed on to the relevant team(s) in a timely manner.
• Use KPIs and SLAs to track, measure, and report on performance to ensure supporter care consistently meets our high standards.  
• Process telephone, post and email enquiries/donations regarding and related to the Puppy Sponsorship Scheme, and ensure that all queries are responded to and resolved within recommended stewardship guidelines and timeframes for the team.

Migrateful runs cookery classes led by refugees, asylum seekers and migrants who are on the journey to integration and gaining access to employment. Our cookery classes provide ideal conditions not just for learning English and building confidence, but also for promoting contact and cultural exchange with the wider community.

Since its establishment in 2017, Migrateful has made a profound impact on the lives of 92 cookery class teachers. Together, they have conducted over 3500 classes, sharing the rich tapestry of their cultures and cuisines with over 40,000 participants.

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you will support the Head of Chef Development in the organisation, recruitment, and facilitation of our Cookery Teacher Training Programme. You will also be responsible for developing, writing, and amending class documents for our cookery class experiences, including recipes, class plans, and allergen matrices.

Over time you will forge the skills to monitor classes and provide nuanced, effective feedback to Cookery Class Teachers to maintain and improve the quality of their teaching.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Working with Chef Development and Operations Team to manage and distribute class feedback, update any changes to class documents and feedback to chefs
• Offering general support where needed to the Operations and Chef Development Team

Working at our Big Purple Bus locations, you will be seeing clients face to face and also providing telephone and digital support.

Main purpose of post

• Act as first point of contact on the Big Purple Bus for any requests for information and support from the public or professionals (drop-in, appointment, phone, email), triaging more complex requests appropriately. 

• Manage professional and self-referrals to the service and triage appropriately, including to internal colleagues and services and partner agencies, ensuring people referred receive timely and coordinated information and support.

• Meet with people on the Big Purple Bus predominantly to provide face to face support when accessing the service (patients/clients, carers, relatives, professionals), providing high quality information and support within defined level of competence in relation to cancer.  This will include assessment of service users’ information and support needs (Holistic Needs Assessment/Cancer Care Review), provision of written or verbal information, supportive listening and action planning to facilitate self-management. 

• Act as a single point of contact for any on-going Big Purple Bus support services liaising with the individual being supported and any professionals and agencies involved in their care. 

• Work proactivity with primary and secondary care and voluntary sector partners to promote Weston Park Cancer Charity and build awareness of the support available for people living with and beyond cancer.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic person to join a growing and dynamic team that provides excellence in supporting people living with and beyond cancer and their families.  The post has been created to support the expansion of cancer support services.Applications are welcome from health, social care and voluntary sector professionals with experience of personalised care and understanding of the wider determinants of health, including, social, economic and environmental factors. 

The postholder will be part of a team which provides a ‘Single Point of Contact’ for people living with and beyond Cancer and professionals such as clinical nurse specialist, GPs, social workers and voluntary sector partners, in Sheffield and surrounding areas.  They will manage referrals to the Big Purple Bus service and triage appropriately including to internal colleagues and services and partner agencies, ensuring people referred receive timely and coordinated, information and support. 

The postholder will provide personalised information and support about cancer and cancer services, within their level of competence, which will enable people to navigate the health and social care system and make choices that are best for them.  The post holder will employ a What Matters to You? approach, using Holistic Needs Assessments and Cancer Care Reviews to support collaborative and person-centred practice.

The postholder will be expected to take an active role in contributing towards the development and implementation of Big Purple Bus support services, have the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a wider team, adhering to excellence in service delivery and customer service. 

We are looking for someone with a highly organised and flexible approach to work.  You must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to adapt your approach to the needs of the people we support.

Posts will have a primary base at the Big Purple Bus but with some occasional working from one of our other locations (Cancer Support Centre & Charity Hub) dependent on service need.

What you do:

Delivery of Information and Support to people living with and beyond cancer and their families. 

The post holder will: 

• Act as first point of contact on the Big Purple Bus for any requests for information and support from the public or professionals (drop-in, appointment, phone, email), triaging more complex requests appropriately. 

• Manage referrals to the Big Purple Bus service and triage appropriately, including to internal colleagues and services and partner agencies, ensuring people referred receive timely and coordinated, information and support.

• Act as single point of contact for any on-going support services liaising with the individual being supported and any professionals and agencies involved in their care. 

• Provide information and support within level of competence of the post (Macmillan Levels of Intervention Criteria L1,2, and L3 under supervision; NICE approved four tier model of psychological support Level 1).

This will include: 

• Assess the needs of individuals attending / contacting the Big Purple Bus service and identify the required level of intervention. 

• Support users sensitively to help them understand basic clinical information they have been given (e.g. around diagnosis, treatment, effects of the illness and treatment, cancer terminology), helping to resolve situations where users feel they have been given conflicting information. This will include addressing concerns and queries and working to resolve them and the ability to recognise and work within the limits of own competence and responsibility is crucial, referring issues beyond these limits to relevant people.

• Provide basic supporting information around topics such as reducing the risk of cancer, cancer screening, healthy living, the impact of cancer, in the most appropriate format (e.g. written, verbal, and others as appropriate to overcome any barriers to communication). 

• Provide information on topics such as e.g. benefits, travel insurance, and facilitate access to services e.g. specialist benefits advice, complementary therapy. 

• Liaise with relevant staff at all levels as appropriate both within the charity and externally to address issues identified, and seek advice with more complex issues, directly involving others where necessary, e.g. Cancer Information and Support Advisor or Senior Advisor; Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS).

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of effective relationships with partner organisations in primary and secondary and voluntary the sector via networking, also giving talks and presenting at relevant groups.

• Deliver awareness raising activity to promote the service. 

Operational delivery 

The post holder will: 

• Collect and collate data regarding contacts with the service users in person and produce reports of activity as required. 

• Contribute to events and displays externally liaising with departments and agencies as required. 

• Provide general administrative support to the Health Care Professionals and Outreach Service Manager [FM1] [PM2] 

• Work flexibly in order to deliver the objectives of the cancer support service, including attending events and outreach sessions across South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire and Bassetlaw.

• Assist in the development of leaflets, posters and other materials, e.g. To publicise the service, recruit volunteers, support cancer awareness and other events.

• Facilitate open and effective communication with multi-professional teams, both internally and externally. 

Management & Leadership 

The post holder will: 

• Seek advice and support from senior colleagues on clinical matters.

• Adhere to policies and protocols relevant to the post, contributing to their updating and development as appropriate.

• Adhere to systems and processes to promote a healthy, safe and secure working environment and maintain accurate documentation and report any concerns. 

• Contribute to the continuous improvement and development of the service, identifying areas for change / improvement and suggesting new approaches and implementing changes in practice identified through other routes e.g. annual service review or user feedback.

We currently have an immediate excellent opportunity for flexible and proactive individual to join our Nightingale Home from Hospital service, which provides support to older people over the age of 65 living in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames on their return home from hospital or when they have become unwell in the community.

The team is involved in organising and delivering tasks which facilitate a speedy hospital discharge / make the home safer to avoid readmission and avoid admission in the first place. This includes preparing the home for discharge; fitting keysafes; moving furniture; shopping; arranging travel and providing advice.

The role will involve:

- Managing a caseload of clients.

- Developing a holistic plan of support, and directly delivering aspects of it.

- Liaising with hospitals, social workers, volunteers, family members, carers and other voluntary sector organisations and services.
