We’re looking for a Research Manager who combines exceptional ability in research and report-writing, with a real passion for (and experience in) peacebuilding. We offer flexible hours and working from home, anywhere in the world. It will be vital that you have an excellent grasp of the context in the Central African region, which will require time spent there and, ideally, significant prior knowledge.
In the first months of the programme, the team will consult at least three thousand people, with a combination of key informant interviews, individual questionnaires and focus groups to build both quantitative and qualitative datasets.
This will add to a dataset of over ten thousand consultations over 6 years, so you’ll have a unique evidence base at your disposal. We believe that, with your expertise and support, we could make better use of the rich information in these datasets, and we feel we owe that to the women and men we’ve consulted. The reports you produce will help amplify their voices, providing decision-makers in government and the international community with clear recommendations for activities that will address root causes of conflict and promote sustainable peace and development.

About You

About the role 

You’ll build relationships to influence improvement in care and support NHS services across Wales. You’ll work alongside Parkinson’s Nurses, Consultants, Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) and Service Managers to support the development of Parkinson’s services in a way that reflects the things that matter most to people with Parkinson’s. You’ll also work with NHS staff and Parkinson’s UK colleagues to monitor and respond to threats to Parkinson's services and effect positive change to address them. 

You’ll use your quality improvement expertise to support health & care professionals with change projects and programmes, equipping them with the latest tools, resources, evidence and data to develop and improve services for people with Parkinson’s. 

 Finally, you’ll support a vibrant network of healthcare professionals across Wales via the Parkinson’s Excellence Network to share best practice, provide resources and education and drive improvements to services for people with Parkinson’s and their families.

What you’ll do:

• Support health and care service redesign and improvement projects in collaboration with clinicians, Parkinson’s UK staff and people living with Parkinson’s, drawing on the principles of co-production.

• Support NHS professionals to develop and implement service improvement plans, using the results of the 2022 UK Parkinson’s Audit as a lever. 

• Promote the funding opportunities available via the Parkinson’s Excellence Network and provide support where appropriate to the development of business cases and grant applications from NHS teams across Wales.

• Respond to threats to services in collaboration with the Wales Team, the UK-wide Service Improvement and Grants Team, people affected by Parkinson’s and health and care professionals.

What you’ll bring:

• Experience and expertise in service redesign and effecting change within health and / or social care.

• Knowledge of NHS and social care structures in Wales.

• Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and manage constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, particularly Parkinson’s Nurses, Consultants, Allied Health Professionals and Service Managers.

There will be a two-stage recruitment process for this role:

• Stage one will take the form of a presentation-based task. Candidates will be asked to deliver a 10 minute presentation on a specific topic. Following the presentation, candidates will take part in a Q+A session with the panel. This will be held via Zoom.

We’re looking for a Country Manager who is, at heart, a peacebuilder. You will be someone willing to lead by your example, coaching, inspiring and giving technical support as you spend time with peacebuilding teams across the north of CAR, including three Hub Peacebuilding Managers in local offices in the borderlands, up to eight programme officers and over 300 local peacebuilders who form our Advisory Groups.

Living in Bangui, you’ll report directly to the Regional Director and work collaboratively as a key part of the Regional Leadership Team to shape the strategic direction of Concordis’ future work across the Central African region.

The needs in CAR are immense, and we need you to have the vision and motivation to look beyond programme delivery, as important as that is, and to identify new opportunities and new funding for additional programming. You’ll support the team as they design, develop and source funding for new work that will a deliver measurable change for peace.

You will be someone who is curious and keen to spend time with people in the borderlands, where conflict is fought and felt. You will also have the confidence and ability to be part of high-level meetings with ministers and ambassadors, amplifying voices that are often ignored by decision makers, leading to evidence-based, conflict sensitive policy making.

Role Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for technical peacebuilding aspects of Concordis’ work in CAR

• Responsible for leading on all aspects of peacebuilding in delivering an ambitious but realistic borders programme to time and to budget, meeting all contractual requirements of the donor
• Responsible for providing managerial oversight in developing and delivering strategic work plans in accordance with donor log frames to achieve delivery of all activities and outcomes, reporting on these to the donor
• Develop opportunities to use the significant flexibility built into this contract to maximise impacts for peace, beyond pure contractual terms, negotiating these with the donor
• Visionary leadership with the staff team, key stakeholders and international donors to identify gaps in peacebuilding provision and to develop opportunities for future work that will meet identified needs, be locally owned and deliver measurable impact

Influence policymaking and advocacy

• Represent Concordis in CAR with high-level engagement with local, national, regional and international decision makers, using evidence from the programme to influence policymaking
• Build and maintain relationships with key decision makers, then use this access to amplify voices that are often ignored, engaging with Government officials, Diplomatic staff, Regional bodies that support Central African countries (eg COMIFAC, ECCAS, CEMAC, OFAC etc), UN and multilateral agencies and humanitarian and developmental staff
• Participate actively in regional conferences and negotiations to ensure that the voices of people in the borderlands are heard, and that locally-led and conflict sensitive solutions are reflected in strategic decision-making

Responsible for strategic programme development

• Building and maintain relationships that may lead to new funding opportunities from bilateral, multilateral and other institutional donors
• Provide strategic support to fundraising providing timely information to support the development of new bids and engaging directly with donors

Leadership responsibility in the Regional Team

• Member of the Central African Regional Senior Leadership Team and will lead the CAR Country Senior Leadership Team supported collaboratively by the CAR Finance Manager
• Responsible for line managing three Peacebuilding Hub Managers
• Responsible for giving coaching, mentoring and technical support to the peacebuilding team in CAR, inspiring them in their roles and focusing their efforts to deliver rapid and sustainable results, whilst ensuring that staff development needs are met
• Promote clear lines of communication between staff members and offices, across the Central African Regional programme and with staff in the UK. Lead or participate in a system of team meetings, one-to-ones and informal gatherings
• Responsible for ensuring that staff development needs are met including training and appraisals
• Responsible for ensuring that CAR project staff understand and adhere to staff safety, security policies and plans and that such plans are kept up to date. Closely monitor the security dynamics in target areas and report to the Regional Director on significant changes in the security context
• Work collaboratively with finance staff to manage project resources, prepare project budgets, review and monitor spending and submit regular reports to the donor
• Work with Regional Head of MEAL to prepare regular donor reports to the donor

About This Job

Press and PR:

Job Title: Trust Fundraising Manager

Contract: Permanent, Full-time (35 hours per week)

Location: Anywhere in the UK, we are a remote-first organisation

Our mission is to tirelessly support and champion how parents can participate in education and have their voices heard.  We want to be a powerful force for good in education in the UK that strives to bring homes and schools together for the good of all children and society.  We have ambitious plans to increase our impact and are establishing a central fundraising strategy for the first time.  Therefore, we are looking for an experienced trust fundraiser to play a key role in delivering organisational growth. 

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our fledgling Fundraising Team and develop a trust fundraising programme from the ground up.  We are looking for someone with experience in raising funds from trusts and foundations, who is an excellent communicator - spoken and written – and who can undertake research to effectively identify appropriate prospects.  You will help to develop our case for support and develop a suite of proposals and reports that will convey to funders what Parentkind does, what the parents and schools we work with want, and how we support them.  Attention to detail is key, as is the ability to manage your time and prioritise your work.

You’ll have

• A minimum of two years of experience in trust fundraising
• Demonstrable success in securing four and five-figure gifts
• Experience in managing funder relationships, and developing them into longer-term partnerships
• Strong research skills to help identify suitable prospects whose mission aligns with Parentkind
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders at all levels
• Excellent communication skills - strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality written applications, and proposals and deliver impactful presentations

· Attending charity training sessions with charity clients, and replicating these sessions with teams, as well as helping individuals develop dialogues pitching these charities to prospective donors.

· Producing and delivering skills-based training for our internal teams, to help them maximise their potential.

· Produce and deliver refresher trainings addressing key issues with individuals and teams.

· Accurate and regular upkeep of training records

Job Purpose

The purpose of the Programme Coordinator is co-ordinate with all parties (Community Engagement Manager, the Programme Manager, LMK Leaders and the host organisations) to enable LMK to deliver high quality workshops for young people/youth work professionals/workplaces. 

Acting as the lynchpin of the organisation’s delivery team, the Programme Coordinator takes the workshop brief from the LMK Community Engagement Manager and then works with the Programme Manager to secure facilitators (LMK leaders), ensures the host organisation receives all supporting information, and provides LMK Leaders with the resources they need to deliver the workshop effectively. This role is also responsible for regular reporting about workshop bookings and delivery. 

Reporting to our CEO, the successful candidate will be part of LMK’s core staff team. You will work with LMK staff, LMK Leaders, members of our Youth Advisory Board, trustees and key stakeholders to develop and implement our long-term strategy. 

Key responsibilities: 

• Provide excellent customer service to organisations who are hosting LMK workshops, ensuring that all communication is timely and accurate, and any questions are responded to in full.

• Liaise with the Programme Manager and LMK Leaders to ensure there is clear understanding around their areas of expertise, availability and any specific considerations that need to be taken into account when delivering workshops.

• Open up opportunities to deliver workshops to any Leader applicable, ensuring the allocation of workshops is done fairly and consistently.

• Ensure LMK leaders have the information and resources required to deliver their workshop.

• Work closely with the Research and Evaluation Manager to ensure that the correct evaluation surveys are made available to workshop participants. 

• Work with our Head of Fundraising to track workshop delivery against funder commitments.

• Keep the CRM system data up to date in a timely way.

• Produce regular reports for the CEO on the booking and delivery of workshops, as well as any ad-hoc reports requested. 

• Share Leader evaluation feedback from workshops with Leaders.

• Check invoices submitted by LMK leaders, and work with the Programme Manager to get them approved. 

• Support the Programme Manager to organise LMK Leader Huddles and training events.

• Comply with our policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, confidentiality, complaints and data protection.

Person specification

• At least 2 years’ experience in an event management/admin management/executive assistant/operations role where there was a strong requirement to work with multiple stakeholders internally and externally.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an excellent track record of customer service.

• Proven ability to work well within a team.

• Highly organised to manage a diverse workload with excellent time management and ability to pay attention to detail.

• Excellent organisational skills, with a keen attention to detail.

• Creative thinker with the ability to problem-solve and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
