Through a UK-wide network of children’s nurses, home and garden transformation projects and family support services, WellChild, who have Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex as its Patron, exists to ensure this growing population of children and young people have the best chance to thrive at home and in their communities.

WellChild is part of the Digital Services Consortium, a coalition of 12 charities and similar organisations all focused on driving digital inclusion for disabled or seriously ill children, young people and their families across the UK.

The Digital Inclusion Programme is a new project at WellChild with the aim of providing equipment and digital skills training to families who have children with complex medical needs, specifically targeting harder to reach and diverse families. Being digitally excluded has a negative impact on people’s access to health care and social engagement and this newly created and exciting role will make a real difference to the lives of those supported.

What we are looking for:

We are seeking an empathetic, enthusiastic, and self-motivated person to join our friendly and supportive team as a Digital Inclusion Officer to work directly with charity beneficiaries - parents and carers of children with complex medical needs who are digitally excluded.

Purpose of the role:

This is an exciting new role at WellChild, and the Digital Inclusion Officer will be vital to the success of this project, helping to shape it from the very beginning. This opportunity will see you delivering and facilitating targeted outreach and digital inclusion support, including training and workshops to those harder-to-reach and digitally excluded families helping them improve their digital skills. This will be achieved through development and provision of training utilising Good Things Foundation’s ‘Learn My Way’ resources enabling these families to become digitally included and supporting them to engage with our parent carer community – The WellChild Family Tree.

This will be achieved by networking with community organisations, services and groups with a particular focus on those harder-to-reach and digitally excluded families. This role is also an opportunity to develop a new volunteer programme for digital champions to help feed into and grow this new service area ensuring our digital inclusion offer is sustainable in the long term.

The Digital Inclusion Officer will also be responsible for developing ways to provide ongoing support to the service users, encouraging and supporting them to join our parent carer community, or working with the wider family team to create new tools to connect these families, reducing their isolation and providing them with peer support, guidance and opportunities to take part in activities and events offered through our WellChild Family Tree.

Working within the Families Team as part of the broader Programmes Team and reporting to the Family Programm Manager, this role will lead the development and delivery of our digital inclusion project.

There are three key parts to this role:

Outreach and identification of families – working with WellChild staff, external organisations and stakeholders to design and deliver ways to identify and recruit digitally excluded families to the programme so they can become digitally included and access much needed support and guidance.

Development and delivery – using a user-led, test-driven approach to shape WellChild’s digital inclusion offer to deliver, facilitate and coordinate support and workshops providing targeted training to improve digital skills to harder-to-reach groups. This will also include the provision of equipment and data enabling these groups to be digitally included.

Sustainability and engagement – Monitor and evaluate programme’s success and identify ways to ensure the digital inclusion programme can develop as a sustainable service by developing a network of volunteer champions to support the programme delivery, promotion and engagement of service users. Working with wider teams to create resources and connect families to our parent carer community – The WellChild Family Tree.

You will also be expected to help identify case studies that can be used to promote the work of the charity, whilst monitoring & evaluating activities and engagement, producing reports as necessary. Throughout your work you will embed safeguarding processes and policies to keep families safe.

You will be able to:

• Demonstrate recent experience in supporting vulnerable people.
• Demonstrate the ability, skills and/or experience delivering digital inclusion training, developing and shaping content to the needs of the service user.
• Build and sustain valuable relationships with our families so they feel engaged and supported from the moment they access support including those from harder-to-reach and diverse groups.
• Provide digital skills training to families enabling them to confidently become digitally included whilst identifying any additional requirements for data, equipment or assistive technology.
• Develop and network with key organisations/groups/services to build relationships and identify service users.
• Support and work with the Family Programme Manager to maximise strategies to grow the programme, including increasing our WellChild Family Tree membership base to include harder-to-reach and more diverse families.
• Recruit and support volunteers to sustain and enhance the digital inclusion programme.
• Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and ability to adapt to the needs of a new and growing service.
• Demonstrate commitment and ability for strong team working.
• Effectively prioritise and work calmly under pressure.
• Collaborate with other teams across the organisation such as Comms & fundraising to maximise promotion for the programme.

You will ideally have:

• Digital inclusion experience and/or knowledge to develop and deliver WellChild’s digital inclusion programme including monitoring and reporting.
• Proven ability to engage with families, children and young people in a sensitive and effective manner.
• Experience planning and delivering digital skills workshops and identifying new locations for groups/sessions
• Demonstrate experience and/or knowledge of the Learn My Way digital training resource or similar platforms.
• Experience planning and delivering outreach programmes.
• Experience recruiting and working with volunteers
• A passion for working with families with children who have complex medical needs.
• A desire and commitment to improve digital skills and therefore family’s ability to thrive at home, reducing isolation and improving their emotional resilience.
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• You will have experience using Client Management Systems
• A competent Microsoft Office user
• A full UK driving license and the ability to be able to travel throughout the UK in order to deliver the requirements of the project.

There will also be some travel to meetings and events required that might fall outside of normal working hours.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

The sanctuary offers a home-from-home environment for all our residents.  Under direction you will be required to always provide and maintain a high standard of care and quality of life for all sanctuary residents in a safe and happy environment.  To offer love, comfort, stimulation, compassion, stability and security to all residents including the wildlife, ensuring their environment is the perfect sanctuary.

Under direction, you will be responsible for the welfare and happiness of each resident, ensuring the physical and emotional wellbeing of all residents in your charge, through constant interaction, whilst still maintaining consistently high standards of hygiene for each resident and throughout the sanctuary with daily cleaning duties.

There are many physical elements including cleaning, grooming, lifting residents, bending and working outdoors, so the capability to carry out all such tasks is essential. 

A love of animals together with the commitment and dedication needed to enrich their time at the sanctuary, during their latter years of life, and for those pets undergoing palliative care is also essential.  Full training will be given.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under direction you will be required to:-

i. Care for each resident like your own family, to build bonds with each resident in your charge, to understand each individual character, their likes, dislikes, personality and needs, to be receptive and understanding and have the ability to spot when things are not quite right.

ii. Minimise the trauma to any resident at a time of illness with compassionate care and, if needed, staying with them to reassure and “not clock off” when the shift ends.

iii. Provide stability by way of a routine with regard to meal times, exercise, grooming and cleaning, so all residents feel safe and secure. 

iv. Provide meals, ie breakfast, lunch and evening meals as well as any extra meals required for residents’ needs.

v. Ensure bedding, towels and coats are washed, bowls, toys, grooming implements and curtains are cleaned.  The living quarters for all residents to be spotlessly clean, utensils washed, floors hoovered and mopped.  To be able to add the extra little touches to further enhance their living quarters and surroundings. 

vi. Pick up animal waste from rooms, patio areas and whilst out walking and dispose of in a safe and hygienic fashion.

vii. Daily cleaning duties to include outside areas of the sanctuary ie stables, aviaries, paddocks, yards and cat gardens having regard for the general tidiness and cleanliness of the entire sanctuary.

viii. Communicate with all residents throughout your shift, be compassionate, patient, gentle and fun.

ix. Prioritise own workload as well as work within a team, communicate effectively with other team members, give and receive emotional support at difficult times when a resident dies. 

x. Meet and greet visitors to the sanctuary as and when required.

xi. Liaise with all other staff of the Trust in a flexible manner.

xii. Be familiar with and adhere to The Trust’s procedures, disciplinary and applicable rules and ensure compliance with legislation (Health and Safety, Data Protection, especially the privacy of members, petitioners and volunteers alike).

xiii. At all times to ensure and maintain a compassionate, professional and efficient public image for the Trust.

SPEAR is a lifeline to hundreds of people each year who are experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness across six London boroughs. We provide essential outreach support, a variety of accommodation options, tenancy support services and vital health programmes. In 2024 we supported 804 people experiencing homelessness. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Corporate Fundraising Manager to lead and grow our corporate giving and partnerships income stream. Corporate Giving at SPEAR comprises just over 20% of our fundraised income, with a mix of direct giving, local COY partnerships and employee fundraising. This is a key role within the Fundraising and Engagement team, responsible for developing and managing relationships with corporate partners to generate sustainable income and deepen engagement with SPEAR’s mission.

As an Employment Advisor, you will sit within the Employment & Careers team, supporting the direct delivery of our employment service by recruiting beneficiaries through outreach and supporting them to secure or progress in employment.
 
Reporting to Head of Employment & Careers you will be required to manage and support a varied and challenging caseload into employment by providing high quality information and guidance. You will be expected to conduct in depth and comprehensive initial assessments in order to produce SMART and tailored action plans. 

Your role will also require meaningful weekly contact with beneficiaries, conducting regular reviews of agreed actions and setting revised actions where applicable. It is imperative that you are able to demonstrate and encourage a positive mind-set among beneficiaries by adopting a strengths based approach to their journey into employment. 

As an Employment Advisor, you will be expected to conduct employer engagement activity for the service, as well as support the delivery of job fairs and sector specific workshops. The role will also require you to ensure the service is at capacity levels by establishing and maintaining a network of referral partners and attending outreach events. 

You will have at least 1 year of experience working in a similar post supporting disadvantaged groups back to work and/or training and education. The Children’s Trust is the UK’s leading charity for children with acquired brain injury, providing expert rehabilitation, education, therapy, and care at our national specialist centre in Tadworth, and to children and their families across the UK, via our Brain Injury Community Service.

Job Purpose

The Business Support Officer will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to the day to day running of the business. They will support the delivery of projects whilst working with Project Managers. • To support parishes as they develop their mission and vision, adding value such as in facilitating vision and planning events, linking with partners and external bodies. 
• To build capacity for mission across the Episcopal Area with different church traditions and practices  

TEAM  

• To enjoy playing a full part in the Area Staff Team, sharing in decision making and development of the program of culture change. 
• To work strategically with particular parishes and clergy from time to time as they identify opportunities for making a difference within their local communities.
• To join the Diocese team of Deans of Mission at their monthly meetings and in ongoing collaboration and cross-border working. 

MAINTENANCE OF SERVICES

• To work with the Area Deans in the delivery of particular mission plans and initiatives in their Deaneries that relate to and will result in services of worship taking place in these churches.
• To encourage churches in their community engagement and social action initiatives, including partnership working across the Area and on specific local projects, sharing best practice so that new and existing services of worship will develop and be maintained to address their needs. 
• To provide support for clergy in the delivery of project work in relation to buildings so they will draw new people into worship services. This will include working through the purposes for which the buildings were established and their interpretation of that in the maintenance of services today. 

RESOURCING  

• To work alongside churches in vacancy to remain focused on mission and to plan for appropriate future leadership, supporting the Bishop and Archdeacon in running vacancy and appointments processes. 
• To help parishes access the support available from the Diocese of London’s Ambition and Priority teams, noting in particular support for new incumbents
• Ambition teams: Confident Disciples, Compassionate Communities, Creative Growth (CCX) – and how they link with maintaining church services. 
• Priority teams: Growing Younger, Safer Churches, Racial Justice 
• To provide advice and support to enable successful church revitalisation including work with current and potential Resource Churches in discerning how their strengths and gifts can be best used in support of planting and other parish support and that new services will be established to serve those currently less well reached. 
• To develop prayer initiatives and resources to support mission in the Area. 
• To ensure the necessary provision of training for missional engagement and useful sources for theological reflection on mission.  

GENERAL  

• Other tasks as assigned by the Bishop as part of his team.
• In addition to an involvement in a parish the post holder is invited to active involvement in the life of the Archdeaconry and Area Deans in a cycle of church activity, training and engagement with clergy and lay leaders in the Area.

Person Specification 

Essential 

• Parish experience, including church growth/ revitalisation at first hand
• Experience of developing and leading teams
• A demonstrable ability in strategic thinking and project planning
•  Experience of constructing and forming mission action plans  
• Vision and ability to enhance racial justice within churches and in their mission
• A high degree of people skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire
• High level of discretion and ability to keep confidentiality
• Able to relate to churches of different traditions across the Area
• There is an occupational requirement for the successful candidate to be a practicing member of the Church of England
• A good eye for detail and process
• Consistent ability in keeping to deadlines
• Warm and positive communication skills, oral and written
• An imagination and flair for problem-solving and innovation as we seek to ‘proclaim the faith afresh in [this] generation’.
• The person will require an enhanced DBS check

Desirable 

• Experience of coaching and mentoring
• Wisdom in handling issues of pastoral complexity
