Job description

Age UK is hiring a Portfolio Support Officer! This role will support the delivery of funded programmes, projects and activity, providing support across a portfolio of activity linked to the delivery of services and projects across the Age UK Network.

You'll be supporting with elements of activity and reporting across multiple areas, providing support to the wider Delivery team with communications, general administration, project administration. You will likely play a role in supporting activity reporting, working with colleagues in the Delivery team to contribute to status and performance reporting.

We operate a hybrid-working model, a blend of home and office working. This role will include regular days working from our London office (EC3N 2LB) - currently at least once a week and may involve travel across the UK. Travel costs to the London office are the responsibility of the postholder and are not covered by the charity.

Please note this role is being offered as a Fixed Term Contract ending 5th October 2026.

Experience

  • Co-ordinating activities to ensure projects and work programmes are delivered on time and on budget. A, I

  • Managing large volumes of communications through multiple channels, including emails, Microsoft Teams, phone calls. I

  • Experience in preparing governance and progress reports across different streams of activity, projects and programmes. A, I

Skills and knowledge

  • Excellent organisational skills and proven ability to track progress of deliverables. A, I
  • Excellent IT skills, in relation to Microsoft packages, which should be proficient at a high level. A
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to report on progress in writing and verbally. A, I

Personal attributes

  • Confident dealing with people from different levels and backgrounds. I
  • Able to work flexibly as part of a team. I
