HR Manager (Employee Relations)
Are you an experienced HR Manager with a focus on employee relations and policies? Are you looking for an opportunity within a purpose-led organisation?
My client is a leading men’s health charity dedicated to improving the lives of men affected by prostate cancer. They fund life-changing research, provide vital support services, and run national awareness campaigns to help more men survive and live well with the disease. With a strong focus on equity, inclusion and wellbeing, the organisation is committed to ensuring every man has access to the right information, care and support, while working towards a future where prostate cancer is no longer a life-threatening condition.
The charity is located close to London Bridge station, and they offer extensive hybrid working, going into the office only 1-day per week. You will be part of a friendly and high performing HR team where you will need to be able to make an immediate impact.
They are looking for an Interim HR Manager (Employee Relations) to play a pivotal role in delivering consistent, legally sound and people-focused ER support. This is an exciting 6-month FTC opportunity to take ownership of both complex casework and key improvement projects, helping to embed best practice and build manager capability across the organisation.
The HR Manager role paying £50,200 pro rata, is an interim position and will require the post holder to work closely with the wider People team and Learning & Development colleagues to deliver meaningful change.
Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:
- Providing expert advice and coaching to managers on a wide range of employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and probation processes.
- Leading complex and high-risk ER casework, including investigations, hearings, appeals, dismissals and redundancy consultations, ensuring fairness and compliance.
- Delivering improvement projects following an ER audit, translating recommendations into practical changes to policies, processes and ways of working.
- Reviewing, writing and updating ER/ HR policies and guidance to ensure they are clear, compliant and aligned with best practice and employment law.
- Setting and maintaining ER standards, templates and governance to drive consistency and quality across the organisation.
- Supporting a proactive approach to wellbeing and absence management, including sickness absence and family-related leave.
- Championing an inclusive, high-performing culture by promoting wellbeing, equity and collaboration across teams.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced ER/ Policy specialist who is confident managing complex casework in a fast-paced environment. You will bring strong knowledge of employment law, excellent coaching and communication skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
You’ll be collaborative, solutions-focused and highly professional, with a strong commitment to fairness, inclusion and employee wellbeing. Experience of policy development, improving ER processes and designing manager training would be highly advantageous. A CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience) is desirable.
The interview process will consist of two stages.
