What you’ll do

As Senior Practice Tutor, you will support the delivery of postgraduate training in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for clinicians working with children and young people, helping to drive transformation in mental health services. You will facilitate skills-based learning, provide supervision, and guide trainees to develop high-quality clinical practice within an inclusive and collaborative environment. It also includes supporting trainee wellbeing, ensuring academic standards, and participating in departmental meetings, all within a hybrid working model and in collaboration with UCL.

 

What you’ll bring

Essential skills and experience:

  • Accredited CBT qualification at practitioner level (BABCP) and a recognised core mental health profession.
  • Extensive clinical experience delivering CBT with children, young people, parents, and families.
  • Significant experience providing CBT-specific clinical supervision for mental health professionals in CYPMH and Wellbeing Services.
  • Knowledge and experience in delivering clinical training and/or university-level teaching..
  • Ability to create an inclusive learning environment, being culturally self-aware and fostering opportunities for reflection.

 

Key details

Hours: Part-time (7 hours per week): usually on Mondays during term time. There may be occasions where you are requested, or you may request, to work flexibly and on a different day of the week to support peak points in the academic cycle, e.g. to meet marking deadlines.

Salary: £52,000 per annum FTE, plus 6% contributory pension scheme.

Location: Hybrid working (a mixture of onsite and home/remote working). Staff are working onsite for at least 20% of their working hours at our London site (4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH). Flexibility will be required to attend in-person teaching days during term time.

Contract type: Permanent.
