We’re looking for a skilled and values-driven Training Manager to design and deliver an accredited development programme supporting ex-service users to progress into Refuge Case Worker roles.
You’ll lead a 3-month accredited training programme followed by 6 months of supported, on-the-job development, with two cohorts each year over a three-year funded period. Managing the programme end-to-end. The training programme will be engaging, directly delivered by you alongside specialist partners. You’ll ensure it is trauma-informed, culturally competent, survivor-led and accredited, combining face-to-face and online learning with structured placements in our refuges.
This role is central to strengthening our workforce, creating safe employment pathways for Black and minoritised women survivors, and building a sustainable, skilled refuge workforce.

The Western Forest is a bold new initiative forming part of England’s National Forest Network—connecting landscapes across Avon, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. Together with a wide network of partners, we’re working to restore nature, improve wellbeing and generate green growth.
As a Farm & Tree Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in planning and delivering woodland creation, supporting our ambition to establish 2,500 hectares of new woodland by 2030. You’ll be working directly with farmers and landowners to bring tree‑planting projects to life—ensuring the right trees are planted in the right places, supported by the right grants and funding.
You’ll be joining a friendly, supportive team in Avon or Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust, supported by the Western Forest team expertise and embedded in a region‑wide nature recovery network.
�� What You’ll Be Doing
- Acting as an on‑the‑ground representative of Avon / Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust and the Western Forest
- Identifying new tree and woodland creation opportunities with existing and new farmer and landowner contacts
- Building and developing strong, trusted relationships with farmers and landowners in your area
- Delivering a one‑stop shop advisory service for tree planting, including site visits, planting design support and grant guidance
- Producing tree creation plans that deliver benefits to the farming system and wider land use
- Managing multiple landowner projects simultaneously—mapping, costing, planning and reporting
- Preparing and submitting grant applications and navigating regulatory requirements
- Working collaboratively with forestry agents, farmers, partners, and other environmental NGOs

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a well-regarded and innovative project contributing to achieving positive outcomes for some of the most vulnerable families in England and beyond whose sick children are being treated at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital (GOSH) We also provide an ‘open door’ service to our GOSH partners such as social workers and family support officers in our areas of expertise.
You will be expected to deliver high quality holistic advice and in-depth casework to families with children who are patients at GOSH across all Citizens Advice issue areas and this will include complex housing issues and with benefits cases up to appeal level.
Whilst we are keen to provide paid to train opportunities where we can, this role is not suitable for a trainee and such applications cannot be considered. Please check the person specification below to ensure you meet the requirements for the role before applying.
Being available onsite is an important aspect of this role and so this role is hybrid working.The exact split between remote/onsite working will be by agreement with the line manager and to meet the needs of the project which could change over time. ABOUT THE ROLE
Team: Estate Management (Infrastructure)
As the Estate Supervisor, you will be key in supporting and organising land management and maintenance activities throughout the Yorkshire region.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing our estate – carrying out and planning works on our Estate to ensure safety for path users and positive biodiversity management.
- Project management – planning projects and safe and costs effective delivery, including supervising contractors and involving teams from other areas.
- Line Management – line managing a Level 4 apprentice
- Estate development – contributing to route and estate plans and their implementation
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a variety of outdoor work working in a small team and practically solving problems.
A full clean driving licence is required as the role holder will be driving works vehicles and driver operated site plant as required. We note that this is a physically demanding role.
