Aquilas is delighted to be working with Royal Papworth Hospital Charity to recruit a Corporate and Philanthropy Managerto develop and manage high‑value income streams, including corporate partnerships and support the Head of Philanthropy with major donors and philanthropic giving.

Location: Cambridge, 1 day a week in the office.

Reports to: Head of Philanthropy

This is a full time, permanent role to work from their Cambridge office (one day per week in the office)

Royal Papworth Charity exists to enhance the world‑leading care delivered at Royal Papworth Hospital by funding projects that go above and beyond NHS provision. Our work supports pioneering research, innovation, patient experience, staff wellbeing and the creation of exceptional environments for patients, families and staff.

The Charity is undergoing a period of growth and evolution as it continues to broaden and strengthen its fundraising capability which has grown significantly over the last 18 months and deepen the impact of it’s on the hospital, funding research, innovation, patient experience, staff wellbeing and the creation of exceptional environments for patients, families and staff

Purpose of the role

The Corporate & Philanthropy Manager is responsible for developing and managing high‑value income streams, including corporate partnerships, COTY (Charity of The Year) partnerships, Online Gifting, Workplace giving and supporting the Head of Philanthropy with major donors and philanthropic giving. This is an income generating role, responsible for the generating a new income stream of over £500,000 over the next 5 years. The postholder will identify, cultivate and steward supporters capable of making significant contributions, building long‑term relationships that deliver sustainable income for the charity.

Working closely with clinical teams, senior Trust leaders and the wider fundraising team, the postholder will develop compelling cases for support, manage a portfolio of high‑value prospects, and contribute to the development and delivery of the charity’s fundraising strategy.

What we’re looking for:

• Highly developed specialist knowledge in corporate fundraising, major donor fundraising, business development or high value relationship management supported by both theory and experience, developed through Master’s level equivalent training and experience.
• Demonstrable track record of securing significant income or partnerships.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, donors and partners.
• Strong strategic thinking and ability to identify and develop opportunities.
• High level of organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work independently and exercise initiative within defined procedures
