This is a fixed contract to support the AMA in exploring income generation opportunities for Goose, an AI powered learning platform co-designed with heritage organisations for heritage professionals across the UK. Within this project we are looking to:

· Realise sponsorship opportunities for Goose

· Identify funding opportunities and submit applications to further develop Goose

We are looking to work with someone who has experience of fundraising and sponsorship within the heritage sector.

We have developed Goose as part of an Innovation project funded by National Lottey Heritage Fund. We’ve been working with developers Make Sense of It to build an AI tool that understands the heritage sector, knows about its seasonal challenges, diverse audiences, limited budget and the balance between preservation and accessibility that defines heritage work.

You can use Goose to :

· Create social media content that brings history to life

· Develop marketing strategies for exhibitions and events

· Write visitor-facing materials

· Plan community engagement programmes

· Generate fundraising content

· Explore different approaches to common challenges

Within Goose you have the opportunity to work with Thinking Partners, a team of specialist advisors available 24/7 – a Digital Marketing Manager who knows heritage audiences, a Community Engagement Manager who understands local partnerships, a Fundraising Manager familiar with heritage funding streams. You can bring them into your conversations to support your thinking.

Goose is proving especially helpful for small teams and individuals with a lack of resource and access to a full range of specialist skills. Innovative solutions from one museum can instantly benefit a historic house three hundred miles away. We are not using AI to replace heritage professionals, we are using it to amplify their impact.

Head of Marketing & Communications

About the role

The Head of Marketing and Communications plays a leading role in developing the gallery’s brand, growing and diversifying audiences, and strengthening the visibility of the organisation locally, nationally and internationally.  Working closely with the Director and Senior Management Team (SMT), this pivotal role is instrumental in helping to meet the gallery’s objectives to increase footfall and digital engagement, strengthen relationships with existing visitors and develop new audiences. This post-holder plays a central role with the Director in maintaining the artistic reputation and profile of Modern Art Oxford as one of the UK’s most ambitious and influential contemporary art organisations, and driving ambitious marketing and communications campaigns. 

The position is responsible for developing and delivering the gallery’s audience development, communications and digital strategies, and plays a central role in nurturing relationships with stakeholders, including press, partners, artists and audiences.  Ensuring compliance with data protection legislation and championing the gallery’s value of equality, diversity and inclusion are central to this role.

Reporting to the Director and forming part of the Senior Management Team, the Head of Marketing and Communications is a full time position which manages and is supported by a full-time Marketing Manager and a full-time Design and Communications Officer, with freelance support on press/PR and design as required for specific exhibitions and projects.

Principal Responsibilities

Marketing and Communications

• To grow and diversify Modern Art Oxford’s visiting and online audiences by leading audience development, communications and digital marketing strategies that will enable the organisation to build on its brand and profile, and strengthen its visibility in Oxford, the UK and beyond.
• To develop and oversee implementation of all marketing, communications and PR activity including media relations, social media and digital activity, development of marketing and branding collateral, and on-site interpretation.
• To formulate with the direction of the Director a transformational vision for the use of digital technologies to drive engagement and interaction with our online audiences.
• To manage effective and efficient relationships with any external PR and marketing consultants and companies.
• To develop and nurture key stakeholder, media and marketing relationships and partnerships and cultivate new relationships to ensure that our profile is high locally, nationally and internationally, and that our position as a leading tourist attraction in Oxfordshire and the South East grows.
• To strategically develop distinctive and innovative digital content, working closely and in creative collaboration with the Head of Exhibitions, Head of Communities, Participation and Practice as well as the wider Marketing and Communications team.

Fundraising and Finance

• To attend events at Modern Art Oxford and externally to represent the gallery and build relationships with key external stakeholders. Occasional weekend and evening work will be required.
• To ensure tight, clear, budgetary setting, control and regular re-forecasting against targets working with the Head of Finance.
• To work closely with the Head of Development to support new fundraising initiatives and partnerships as required.
• To regularly review all communications activities, suppliers and resources to ensure best value for money.
• To prepare reports as required by Arts Council England and Oxford City Council and other funders/stakeholders in relation to digital, marketing and communications activities.

General

• To support the work of the gallery in strengthening the equality, diversity and inclusivity of the working environment and practices.
• To ensure team management and cross-departmental work is effective and timely in achieving annual targets.
• To ensure that Modern Art Oxford complies with all aspects of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in relation to marketing and communication activities with audiences, stakeholders and any other third parties.
• To participate in training and development activities as required and assist with the training and development of colleagues.

• Experience of running a Marketing and Communications team at a senior level within an arts organisation or similar field

The Philharmonia Orchestra is seeking a skilled and versatile Digital Media Editor and Coordinator to join its Marketing and Communications team. The ideal candidate will have at least two years’ experience in a similar role, strong editorial skills, and confidence using key digital media creation platforms.

This new role will play a key part in the orchestra’s digital-first strategy, supporting the creation, editing, and distribution of engaging content across web, social media, and other digital channels. Working closely with the Social Media & Content Manager and Senior Producer, the postholder will help bring the Philharmonia’s concerts and activities to audiences worldwide. Focused on short form, social-first content, this role requires someone with technical proficiency, excellent organisation and a flexible approach to content capture.

Although based at Head Office, the role involves frequent time out of the office with the Orchestra – whether in rehearsals, at concert venues, or on tour. No two weeks will be the same.

Key Responsibilities

Planning and implementation: 

• Work with the Social Media & Content Manager and Senior Producer to plan and deliver the Philharmonia’s short- and long-form digital content in line with marketing and organisational priorities

This role combines administrative coordination, event support, stakeholder engagement, and public policy research. The post holder will play a key role in advancing the National Theatre’s public policy and advocacy objectives, ensuring effective delivery of projects, communications, and relationships that support our strategic goals. The post holder will work as part of the Policy team within the Communications department.

The Facilities Manager will ensure a safe, well-maintained, and welcoming environment across Charleston’s two sites at Firle and in central Lewes. The postholder will oversee the day-to-day facilities operations of both sites, including security, building maintenance and health & safety procedures.This role requires the post holder to carry out physically demanding tasks such as moving furniture and other manual handling.

Duties and responsibilities
Operations and facilities

• Responsibility for the management of Charleston’s buildings and facilities.
• Coordinate and oversee cleaning, maintenance, utilities, and supplies, ensuring smooth, cost-effective operations.
• Manage supplier and contracts relationships including waste management, building maintenance, cleaning and security; review chosen suppliers against Charleston’s criteria including value for money.
• Act as the main contact for tenants and ensure efficient resolution of queries.
• Oversee the relationship with the external IT provider to ensure organisational IT requirements are met and value for money achieved.
• Work closely with the Head of Collections and Research and Head of Exhibitions to maintain excellent environmental conditions for the protection of the house and objects.
• Proactively improve the sites in collaboration with the Visitor Experience Manager, leading on wayfinding, sustainability, and access initiatives.
• Actively manage and monitor the annual operations and utilities budgets, seeking cost savings and service improvements through regular contract reviews.
• Maintain records to ensure any discrepancies are followed up, allowing pro-active, timely review of invoices.

Site maintenance

• Schedule and manage routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance.
• Ensure regular inspections of plant and equipment to deliver safe operational standards, documenting results and addressing concerns proactively.
• Carry out maintenance requirements and lead on scheduling external contractors as required.
• Schedule regular contractors as required for servicing and maintenance visits.
• Hands-on approach with the ability and willingness to carry out minor repairs and fixes as needed.
• Actively manage and monitor the budget for site maintenance.
• Research and source cost effective and sustainable materials and supplies.
• Maintain records to allow proactive timely review of invoices and follow up of any discrepancies.

Health and Safety

• Lead annual health and safety reviews and ensure compliance with all regulations.
• Support the development of comprehensive method statements and risk assessments for all areas of work throughout the gallery, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Carry out operational maintenance work identified by Health and Safety assessments.
• Attend and contribute to monthly Health & Safety meetings.
• Work with the Visitor Experience Manager to ensure all facilities are accessible and inclusive for visitors with additional needs.

Emergency and security procedures

• Act as a keyholder and respond to emergency callouts as required.
• Manage building security systems and records and serve as Fire Marshal.
• Lead staff inductions on emergency and security procedures.

General duties

• To act at all times in the best interests of Charleston.
• Ensure that data capture, storage and processing related to finance and resources activity complies with Charleston’s policies and GDPR regulations.
• Undertake any other duties as agreed with your Line Manager.
• To work flexibly to best meet the needs of the organisation.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategically minded Experience Development Manager (EDM) to oversee the development and delivery of high-quality, visitor-focused products and experiences across the historic site.  As a senior member of the Commercial and Operations team, the EDM will contribute to the sustainable operation of the museum, support the preservation of the Trust’s heritage buildings and ships, and drive growth in visitor engagement and commercial income.

The role includes leading flagship events and experiences, including family activities, the Call the Midwife Official Location Tour, Mission Christmas, and major annual events such as Armed Forces Day.  The EDM will co-lead one of CHDT’s largest staff groups alongside the Visitor Operations Manager, ensuring a high-quality, safe, and cohesive visitor experience across all areas of the site.
