To do this, we are seeking a Commercial Sales Manager to join our Commercial Sales team to be at the forefront of our commercial strategy, driving revenue and profitability across our range of commercial activities.  

Playing a key part in managing and developing client relationships, this role is ideal for someone who thrives on building relationships. It’s a pivotal role with a focus on diversifying and increasing our income, identifying new business opportunities whilst ensuring the sales strategy is aligned with charity goals.

This is a visible, field-based role with a requirement to travel across the UK, working closely across the charity with other team members and externally with our partners, ensuring efforts are aligned, providing feedback to influence our product and service offerings.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets 
• strong commercial acumen
• the ability to analyse markets trends and competitor activity, proactively identifying new and exciting opportunities for us to explore
• excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build new and strengthen existing relationships
• competent market research, report writing and financial analysis skills and will use these to support your activities and contribute to the overall business reporting environment.

This role will work across the UK and therefore a flexible approach is required to support our commercial activities and there will be some occasional evening and weekend working as required within the scope of the role.

Purpose Of Role

This is a newly created collaborative and integral role within the Joint Finance Team across the Dioceses of Winchester and Portsmouth. The Dioceses of Winchester and Portsmouth (DBF) act as the custodian trustee for our parishes (PCC) across both dioceses and manage funds in excess of £30m across c.620 funds.

This role will be responsible for seeking ways to identify the purposes of these funds and creating a bespoke database to assist with the day-to-day oversight.  Reporting to the Heads of Finance, the role will support the Finance Officer and Finance Assistant with the delivery of treasury functions to our parishes, through enabling prompt identification of the relevant information to enable investment transactions to take place. 

Job Summary

· Create a master list of the funds and related account details with the relevant investors. 

· Review the electronic and paper archive information for details of restrictions around funds and confirm the accuracy and completeness of the information.

· Identify funds where restrictions may no longer be relevant and provide guidance on how these may be wound up.

· Identify small / low value balances where Charity Commission rules may allow alternative action to be taken with the fund.

· Identify endowments where permission could be sought to spend the capital, if income flows are insufficient for requirements. 

· Identify any small trusts with similar purposes where there may be opportunity to combine trusts to alleviate some of the administrative burden. 

· Produce an action plan based on the findings of the above and work with the Heads of Finance to implement the plan. 

· Review the PCC annual accounts for accurate reporting of their funds, based on the details of restrictions around the funds. 

·  To provide other assistance as may occasionally be required by senior members of the Joint Finance Team.  

Key role requirements

This is an office-based 12-month fixed-term part-time role of 21 hours per week, with the expectation to work from the office 2 days per week.

You will need to be/have:

· An understanding of charity finance, different fund types and Charity Commission guidance in relation to these is essential. 

· A background in finance or bookkeeping is desirable. 

· An ability to understand and interpret legal or trust documentation is desirable. 

· Experience of Xledger accounting systems would be advantageous but not essential; experience of working with Microsoft Suite applications and financial accounting systems is essential.  

· Knowledge and experience of working in a large and complex organisation is desirable

This is a critical role that will develop and grow a high-performing Legacy Giving programme at The Hospice of St Francis.

You will personally identify, cultivate and steward legacy pledgers through an inspiring engagement programme that both raises awareness of legacies, encourages new pledgers and shows the impact they have on the Hospice’s services.

With a solid understanding of the administration of wills, you will liaise with executors and professional advisors and advise colleagues and the Board on best practice legacy administration.

The Bridge Renewal Trust, in partnership with the NHS, are delivering care navigation services for frail patients in Haringey.

As a Care Navigator, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support frail patients in Haringey by providing individual holistic assessments and directing patients to appropriate services, including activities that may help to promote their health, wellbeing and independence.

About you…

To be successful in the role you will need to:

· Able to engage with hard to reach groups

· Experience of using different mediums to gather the views of children and young people

About the role:

This is a varied role that would suit an individual who has sound knowledge in childcare legislation, advocacy and participation and is passionate about making meaningful relationships to achieve change.

We are offering this role on a fixed term basis for external applicants.  Internal staff would be offered a secondment opportunity to further develop skill sets/knowledge.  Approval from current line managers must be sought before applying.

The role will require you to be able to work flexibly, which will include evenings and weekends to accommodate the needs of our children and young people.

Please note the successful candidate will require a full driving licence to travel around Rutland and the wider area.

The opportunity.....

You will play a pivotal role in growing income across the Hospice and leading new, relationship-based approaches to fundraising.

With responsibility for Major Donors, Trusts and Foundations, and Regular and Mid-Value Giving you will create and lead a new strategy to develop these areas and manage and grow a portfolio of high-value relationships.

You will also work hand in hand with Hospice colleagues to identify and curate exciting fundraising propositions, helping to raise strategic funds for our services.

As a leader in the fundraising team, you will provide coaching and management to your team and deputise for the Director Fundraising.

You will be central in forming close working relationships across the Hospice and with the Board of Trustees, enabling a whole hospice approach to fundraising.

The must haves:

• Fundraising Success: At least six years’ experience operating in a Major Gifts or Trusts and Foundations role and a track record of personally securing and stewarding five and six figure gifts
• Strategic thinker: Experience of researching, developing and implementing new strategies, and associated budgets and KPIs, and of developing portfolios, and prospect management tools
• Leading and inspiring: At least four years’ experience of inspiring, managing and developing 1+ line reports
• Proposition development: Creative in outlook and with experience of developing donor-centric fundraising propositions

• Regular Giving: Experience of developing and managing Regular Giving and mid-value programmes
• Team Management: Experience of managing, motivating and supporting a team
• CRM knowledge: Knowledge of DonorFly
