Just a Drop is an international NGO working to bring safe water, sanitation and hygiene education to communities in need, transforming lives. Our projects have benefitted almost two million people across 32 countries since we began in 1998.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Internship in our Programmes Team based near Gillingham in Dorset. Consisting of three Programme Managers and a Head of Programmes, the JaD Programmes Team oversees all aspects of project design and delivery with nine partners in seven countries.

We are looking for someone who would like to build their skills and experience in the International Development Sector. You will support a number of functions from project management to monitoring and evaluation. The successful candidate will also gain exposure to all aspects of JaD’s award winning work in the WASH sector.

Role Overview

The Programmes Intern (PI) will work with four other programmes staff in the Programmes Team and will support the team by undertaking a range of activities concerned with all aspects of JaD project design, coordination, delivery, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) and formal reporting.  The PI will also interact with our team of Technical Advisers, as well as liaising with members of our Fundraising and Communications team, providing support in securing funding for approved projects and assisting in the flow of information on the delivery of JaD projects and programmes to external audiences.

There is flexibility for the person in this role to work  part time (three days a week for ten months or four days a week for seven and a half months) or full time (five days a week for six months). The Intern will receive payment of £12.21 per hour, as well as NI and pension contributions. They will be expected to attend our Programmes Office near Gillingham in Dorset one day a week, with the remaining days worked from home.

Personal Specification

• Degree-level qualification or higher in International Development, International Relations, Environment, Hydrology, Health or other related discipline.
• Demonstrable interest in the international development and/ or WASH sectors.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to take on a variety of new tasks and work on own initiative.
• Excellent IT skills and experience using all standard Microsoft programmes including familiarity with Teams, strong knowledge of Excel is desirable.
• Some experience of CRM platforms such as Salesforce is desirable

The Role

• Manage relationships with external financial providers including banking and investment
• Manage outsourced payroll and ensure charity employees are paid accurately and on time
• Manage Energise Me’s financial and accounting functions and related policies, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards, regulations and procedures (Charity Commission guidelines, HMRC and financial regulations)

• Improving the identification and support for unpaid carers throughout the hospital discharge process;

• Shared Lives respite options for unpaid carers, including day support.

This role will be part of a small team of Peer Researchers, all of whom bring valuable insight from their own experiences and will work closely with the Lived Experience Coordinator to gather and reflect the diverse voices and stories of people across Greater Manchester.
 

Role Purpose

As a Peer Researcher, your role is to listen, capture, learn, and share. You will use your lived experience and connection to your community to gather stories from others, especially those who may feel overlooked or unheard.

You don’t need formal qualifications or previous experience in research as you’ll receive full training – you just need a genuine interest in people, the ability to listen, and a commitment to positive change.

By helping us understand what care and support really feels like on the ground, you’ll directly contribute to evaluating how well the ARF projects are meeting people’s needs – and what should be done differently going forward.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of a community research project by gathering people’s real experiences of care and support across Greater Manchester through one-to-one conversations, interviews, or group storytelling sessions.

• Record stories using approaches such as note taking, Dictaphone or video within an ethical and trauma-informed framework.

• Attend training and team meetings to build skills in community research, consent, safeguarding, and storytelling.

• Work collaboratively with the Lived Experience Coordinator and other Peer Researchers to curate the stories, reflect on emerging themes and contribute to the overall evaluation of the ARF programme.

• Help develop and share research findings in meaningful ways – such as reports, events, or creative formats – to influence local decision-making and service improvement.

This is a sessional (casual) role, which means you are not employed on a fixed contract or guaranteed number of hours, nor are you entitled to sick pay or other employee related benefits. What the job involves
We’re looking for a brilliant and proactive Senior Copywriting Officer to lead the creation of compelling written content that engages our audiences, strengthens our brand voice, and helps raise vital funds to support men with, or at risk of, prostate cancer.

As our in-house copywriting expert, you’ll help shape messaging and creative direction for products and campaigns and play a key role in shaping our tone of voice across all communication. To work across both community houses and High Support Schemes in Wandsworth support people with mental health problems in their recovery journey. To recruit and coordinate Peer Support volunteers from within the Wandsworth MH Rehabilitation and Recovery Service to co-produce Peer Support Groups, training sessions and to be a part of the local co-production Group. To ensure all volunteers are sufficiently supported, trained and stable within their own recovery. Providing hope and unconditional positive regard to service users. Supporting service users to increase their self-confidence and ability to self-advocate. Create a network of  community befriending

Here's what the team will be looking for

The ideal candidate will understand the impact of trauma on behaviour and be skilled in using effective de-escalation and engagement techniques. They should be able to work both independently and collaboratively, with a commitment to co-production.

They must be capable of assessing different learning styles and adapting training to suit varied needs, producing clear and accessible training materials. Strong IT skills are required, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet use, alongside excellent literacy and numeracy for accurate case notes, advocacy, reporting, and monitoring.

The candidate should be confident engaging with diverse audiences and have a sound understanding of safeguarding, with the ability to respond appropriately.

HR Coordinator 

Location: Based at one of our Centre 33 hubs (Huntingdon, Peterborough, Cambridge or Ely) 

Salary: £26,000 to £28,000

Hours 32-35 hours per week

The Human Resources Coordinator will be responsible for the HR Administration requirements for Centre 33, including recruitment, training coordination and maintenance of the HR database. As well as supporting the HR Senior Officer with the day to day running of the HR Service. 

If you are passionate about people, highly efficient and the ability to develop great working relationships with others, this position could be for you. You will act as the first point of contact for all recruitment and HR related queries from employees and volunteers. You will represent Centre 33 in your communications and be an approachable and open individual with great attention to detail conforming to employment law and internal polices. Ideally you will have experience with HR procedures and can juggle various administrative tasks in a timely manner. 

his role will work to Centre 33's values of being young people led, collaborative, inclusive and striving for excellence. You will also be an exemplar of our relevant polices, compliance and standards to help build a team culture.

Role description and core responsibilities 

The Office and IT Assistant plays a key role in the Foundation supporting a busy office, as well as providing hands on support to IT function.

This role goes beyond simply checking off tasks - It is about being confident, approachable, and unafraid to speak up when needed (yes, even with a lighthearted “Hey! Who left their mug in the sink?”).

Office Administration

· Act as first point of contact for general operational enquiries

· Manage post, deliveries and couriers for the Foundation

· Ensure that the office facilities are maintained to the highest of standards and any issues identified are escalated promptly and resolved

· Responsible for ensuring office supplies are maintained and ordered as required

· Responsible for reporting and following up with all office faults/issues to the Facilities Management Helpdesk

· Support office health and safety, including undertaking first aid and fire warden training

· Support Director of Finance and Operations and the Finance team with occasional ad hoc administration tasks as required

· Other general administrative support as required

IT Support

· Liaise with outsourced IT Support for devices setup for new and existing users

· Manage mobile phones for the Foundation

· Manage IT equipment (including Photocopier contract, AV Equipment) at the office and raise any faults with the relevant stakeholder

· Support the Business and Governance Manager with any other IT management as required

· Support Salesforce CRM Administrator with basic Salesforce administrative tasks

· Assist in the coordination of daily operational tasks and processes

· Maintain accurate records and ensure timely processing of orders, invoices, and inventory management

· Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure smooth communication and operations

Relevant knowledge, experience and personal qualities 

Knowledge & experience:

· Significant office administration experience ideally with broader experience in at facilities management and IT

· Demonstrable experience dealing with stakeholders at all levels

· Strong IT skills are essential, particularly with Microsoft Office 365, Windows, macOS

· Salesforce CRM experience is desirable.

· Interest in environmental sustainability

· Charity sector experience
