Are you ready for a new challenge?
We are looking for someone who is passionate about youth work and ready to help shape and grow our work alongside young people across Rhyl. You'll build positive relationships with young people, facilitate engaging activities, groups and workshops, and create opportunities for them to develop new skills, build confidence and have fun.
As we enter the next phase of the partnership, you'll work alongside young people to understand what belonging means to them and help create spaces where they feel safe, valued and part of their communities.
What is the service?
The Rhyl Co-op Partnership is all about helping young people create positive futures. Working alongside young people, schools, community organisations and local partners, we deliver youth groups, workshops, projects and events that focus on three key areas: improving wellbeing, increasing access to food and creating opportunities for young people to develop skills, try new experiences and build connections within their community.
Young people are at the heart of everything we do. We want them to have a say in the activities, services and issues that matter to them.
Food is an important part of the partnership and can take many forms, from cooking and sharing meals to exploring healthy food choices, improving access to food locally and bringing people together through food-based activities.
What does the role involve?
You'll work directly with young people aged 10-25 across a range of settings, including youth groups, schools, community venues and local events, leading our established youth group in Rhyl every Thursday evening.
In this role, you'll:
- Plan, deliver and evaluate engaging youth groups, workshops and activities for young people.
- Support the development of new groups, projects and opportunities across Rhyl, working alongside young people to ensure their voices influence the activities and experiences available to them.
- Build positive relationships with young people and create safe, welcoming and inclusive spaces.
- Work collaboratively with schools, community organisations and other local partners.
- Maintain accurate records and monitor outcomes.
- Recognise and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
- Supervise volunteers and sessional staff, contributing to the ongoing growth and development of the staff and service.
We'd love to hear from you if you:
- Are passionate about youth work and the futures of young people.
- Have experience of working directly with young people and confidence in facilitating groups, activities and workshops for a range of ages and needs.
- Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection, with experience of applying relevant policies, procedures and legislation in practice.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with young people, families, colleagues and partner organisations, communicating effectively with a range of audiences.
- Are organised and able to manage a varied workload.
- Bring creativity, initiative and enthusiasm to your work.
- Have inclusion and participation at the heart of your practice.
- Can communicate through the medium of Welsh (desirable).
