Duties and Responsibilities

• Initial set up 8:00am at orchard site each day 
• Carry out Dynamic Risk Assessment each morning
• Meet, greet and check in volunteers on arrival
• Support volunteers with way finding from train station to farm
• Introduction and H&S briefings for volunteers
• Manage all aspects of picking, stacking, loading of fruit
• Arrange lunch and refreshments for volunteers
• Liaise with farmer/on-site contact day-to-day
• Liaise with Haulier to arrange collections and deliveries 
• Liaise with the depot teams regarding deliveries
• Lead & support where necessary on all farm outreach activity
• Any other duties as directed by line management

Hours/Days per week: 37.5 hour per week, 8.5 hours per day (between 8am - 8pm). Monday – Saturday (5 days on, 2 days off). Operating hours of the kitchen are, Monday-Thursday 7:30am-8pm, Friday 7:30am-6pm, Saturday 8am-4pm. Most working days will be between 8am-6pm for this role.

Purpose of the Job 

We are looking for the Assistant Kitchen Manager to play a key role in the Kitchen team.

Felix’s Kitchen is the longest running Production site we have here at The Felix Project, the staff and volunteer team in the kitchen, turn surplus food into almost 5,000 meals a day. These meals are cooked and packed on site and then go into our network of depots and on to some of the 1,200 community organisations we support.

This role is support in the managing of the day to day running of the kitchen, its team, the food production and packing of the meals and all aspects related to these responsibilities. Assist The Kitchen Manager in all aspects of the operation and planning for the kitchen.

No two days are ever quite the same in our kitchen, we work with volunteers and surplus food this means we adapt and thrive in a fast and changing environment. This role supports and oversees the entire operation, from the kitchen and chef team to the packing room and packing team, our volunteers and engaging and organising within the wider Felix Project.

Duties and Responsibilities

Your normal duties and responsibilities will be set out in your job description. However, the charity may require you to perform other duties from time to time. 

• Support all kitchen staff so they can fulfil their role
• Assist in the smooth running of the kitchen and packing area, taking a hands-on approach
• Ensure that the operation hits its agreed targets of production
• Responsible for the quality control of the cooked and packed meals, and that all correct HACCP procedures are followed
• Responsible for Health and Safety in the kitchen, food safety and record keeping and keeping all records up to date
• Oversee kitchen maintenance and cleaning
• Overseeing shift planning and the rota for the entire kitchen team
• Ordering of all food and other materials needed in the kitchen
• Connect and work closely together with the team at the Poplar Depot, we are attached to
• Ensuring all staff and all volunteers have all relevant training and are well supervised & supported
• Maintain relationships with the wider Felix team and key connections of the Felix kitchen
• This role will be operational, with some management and administrative duties

Person Specification

This is a truly unique role, and we are looking for someone to bring their own skills, experience and flair to the role. We are looking for someone to help set and maintain very high standards in the kitchen.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is eager to continuously improve, whether this be food quality or process or working relationships. The kitchen has achieved some great successes over the last 4 years, but we are looking for someone to continue that improvement and the impact we can have across London.

• Experience in hospitality/catering management and/or kitchen management role
• Eagerness to improve processes and solve problems
• Comfortable with all aspects of H&S, Food Safety and HACCP procedures or a willingness to learn

Engagement Officer

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Locality Impact directorate and focus on Engagement in their area.

Position: S11308 Engagement Officer

The Role

Reporting to the Engagement Lead, the Engagement Officer will work with colleagues across the locality to deliver against engagement activity.

Key responsibilities will include:

· Planning, facilitation and evaluation of the online Stroke Information Programme

About the role

Your challenge? To act as an external face for the charity and meet agreed annual and long-term financial targets by cultivating high value partnerships with UK and Scottish grant-makers to fund Shelter's work in Scotland. You'll also work closely with our Directorate Leadership Team in Scotland to develop compelling and strategic funding propositions and ensure the high quality stewardship of all Trusts and lottery donors.

The Partnerships & Fundraising section in the International Relations Sector (IR-DS-PFU) coordinates and conducts fundraising at or on behalf of CERN and the CERN & Society Foundation, as well as the dissemination of, and compliance with, CERN's fundraising standards, including the Ethical Policy and the Policy for the Recognition of Donors.

The CERN & Society Foundation, established in June 2014, is the charity through which charitable gifts for CERN & Society projects are raised from companies, trusts/foundations and individuals.

As an Individual and Digital Fundraising Officer, under the supervision of the Head of the Partnerships and Fundraising section, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to grow individual donor revenue, both through direct relationship management and digital campaigns. This role blends donor cultivation and stewardship with online fundraising initiatives, ensuring a seamless and engaging donor experience across platforms.

Core Tasks and Key Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Head of Partnerships and Fundraising section and in close collaboration with the other members of the team, the Individual and Digital Fundraising Officer will contribute to the following tasks:

Individual Giving:

• Management of a portfolio of individual donors and prospects, focusing on mid-level and emerging major donors.
• Development of personalised cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies and donor-journeys to deepen donor engagement.
• Preparation and execution of annual and mid-level donor campaigns, including appeals, thank-you strategies, and impact reporting.
• Identification of opportunities to upgrade donors and convert digital supporters to long-term donors.

Digital Fundraising:

• Development and implementation of strategies for digital fundraising campaigns across channels and oversight of their implementation.
• Optimisation of online donation platforms for user experience, conversion rates and back-end usability.
• Analysis of donor data and campaign performance to refine strategies and improve results.
• Development of cases for support and targeted communication strategies based on a stakeholder analysis, to align fundraising with storytelling and brand messaging.

Other Tasks:

• Supervision of day-to-day activities of the PFU Junior Communicator.
• Support and advise for PFU Team members on topics of targeted stakeholder communication as well as on effective cases for support for the CERN & Society Foundation projects and activities.
• Organisation and/or support of donor events and individual visits, as required.
• If necessary, performance of any other unforeseen tasks as determined by the Head of the Partnerships and Fundraising section.

Your profile

Skills:

• Understanding of and interest in donor stewardship, fundraising funnels, and digital engagement tools.
• Professional training in the field of fundraising or stakeholder relations (or equivalent).
• Experience with a fundraising CRM and/or email marketing platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Desire and ability to work in a team within a large international organisation.
• Creative, results-orientated approach, and desire to set high standards.
• Excellent spoken and written English is essential; French will be an asset.
