This is a hands-on, generalist role combining day-to-day HR operations with a genuine focus on people, wellbeing and culture. You’ll be the first point of contact for routine HR matters, working closely with both the Operations Manager and Director (Founder) to contribute to a positive, inclusive and values-led working environment.

What You’ll Do
People and Culture

Work closely with the Operations Manager and Director to help create a positive, healthy team culture that reflects our values and priorities.

Stay up to date with UK employment practice, especially in education and purpose-led organisations, and use this knowledge where helpful.

Work with external HR or legal advisers when needed to help ensure we follow employment law and best practice.
HR Operations

Be the first point of contact for everyday HR questions from the team.

Give clear, practical HR advice, knowing when to escalate complex or high-risk issues.

Keep HR systems, records and documentation accurate and up to date.

Support updates to HR policies and help ensure we meet employment law and GDPR requirements.

Work with Finance on payroll changes and provide people data as needed.
Employee Lifecycle

Manage recruitment administration, from advertising roles to coordinating interviews and preparing offers.

Support safeguarding and safer recruitment by coordinating all required education-sector pre-appointment checks in line with KCSIE, and maintaining an accurate Single Central Record to ensure compliance before appointments are confirmed.

Coordinate onboarding and offboarding, including contracts, inductions and exit interviews

Support key people processes such as probation reviews, absence management and performance conversations.

Help coordinate employee relations processes (such as disciplinary and grievance cases) with senior support.
We’re Looking For Someone Who

Has CIPD Level 5 (completed or working towards, with support to complete)

Has 2+ years’ experience in a generalist HR, HR Officer or HR Advisor role

Has a good working knowledge of UK employment law and ACAS best practice

About Tutors Green
At Tutors Green, we believe every student deserves access to high-quality education — regardless of their background or circumstances. For over ten years, we’ve worked closely with schools, charities and Local Authorities to deliver personalised tuition programmes that help disadvantaged pupils build confidence, overcome barriers, and achieve their academic goals.
We partner with schools, Local Authorities and charities across the UK to support students with a wide range of needs, including SEND, SEMH and EHCPs. Our work is rooted in compassion and impact, ensuring support reaches the students who need it most.
We’re a hybrid organisation with an office-based team of around 18–20 colleagues who work closely together to deliver our programmes nationally. From our Angel office, our Education Programme Teams coordinate tuition across the country, while our Onboarding and Tutor Recruitment Team sources and supports the right tutors for each programme. Summary
This is an exciting and varied opportunity to join The Fore and play a vital role across both our partnerships and programme teams. You’ll help coordinate key events across different stakeholders, including our corporate partners, the charities we fund, skilled volunteers who offer professional expertise to our charities, and our consultants who support organisations through the application process. Alongside this, you will help bring our work to life by drafting content and supporting the team in planning and publishing posts for our social media and beyond. You’ll also work closely with the Programmes Team to support our grant making processes, helping us to keep things running smoothly throughout our grant funding rounds.

Key responsibilities
Event & Comms Coordination
- Support the end-to-end coordination of online and in-person events, e.g. setting up online meetings, booking in-person venues, sending invites, collecting feedback. These events include:
- Skills-based volunteering events that connect the charities we fund with professionals who offer their expertise to help organisations grow.
- Our Funders Collective events that bring funders together to exchange ideas and explore how funding can drive deeper impact.
- Showcases aimed to connect the charities we have backed with funders, think tanks and other stakeholders.
- Provide on-hand support to ensure events run smoothly.
- Manage the communications calendar and make sure social media posts are drafted and reviewed on time.
Programmes
- Assist with the smooth delivery of our funding rounds, e.g. updating our CRM (Salesforce), sharing updates with our team of consultants, reviewing feedback provided to grant applicants, coordinating with our Finance Team on grant payments.
- Help the Programme Team with the management of our peer learning and workshops programme, giving charities the skills they need to thrive.
- Support the Programme Team with ad-hoc data collection for impact analysis and reporting.
Organisation-wide support
- Maintain accurate records and ensure our database and task management tools are kept up to date to help the team stay organised.
- Provide flexible administrative support to The Fore team across all areas of work and other projects as required.
- Provide additional administrative or operational support when required, including limited cover for the info and pro bono mailboxes during periods of leave.

Lincoln Cathedral is seeking an experienced HR BP to provide strategic/operational HR support across a unique and purpose-led organisation. More about the role
This key role within the Insights team has a focus on delivering marketing selections, implementing supporter journeys, and delivering insights on fundraising, communications and engagement performance. The Insights team sits within the Data & Insights Department – a team of 10 colleagues who are working towards our Data Strategy vision of our information being trusted, accessible and used to help pets and people thrive together.
You'll collaborate closely with the Insights Manager to deliver marketing selections and supporter journeys, as well as analysis and insights that deepen our understanding of our clients and supporters.
You will have the opportunity to problem solve and experiment to help us drive forward our data maturity, all whilst being a part of a friendly, welcoming and collaborative team. The Insights team provide the metrics, reports and analysis that underpin evidence-based decision making at Blue Cross, and ensure reporting adheres to all legislative and regulatory requirements and quality and integrity standards.

About you
This role would suit an experienced analyst who is keen to develop and maintain supporter journeys and marketing selections, or to learn these skills. If this is new to you, don’t worry, we’ll fully support you as you learn.
You will be confident, proactive and articulate in promoting data, insights and the benefits of evidence-based decision making. We will need you to use various analytical tools, skills and techniques to design and develop reports and dashboards to tell stories in a compelling way and confidently be able to analyse complex data from diverse sources.
You will need great presenting and communication skills to deliver insights to stakeholders both in person and virtually and the confidence to build strong stakeholder relationships throughout the organisation, so we are looking for someone positive and friendly with confidence to contribute.
We use Microsoft Power BI as our business intelligence tool, but you might have used other BI software such as Tableau or Qlik. Don’t worry if you haven’t used Power BI – you’ll get lots of support.

We have Drop in Centres and Street Outreach services for children currently living on the streets. We offer short term residential care in our Halfway Homes or Drug Rehabilitation Centre to help children to transition off the streets, and follow up care and support for when a child has been resettled home to their family. We also offer educational support, and/ or business skills start up and training where assessed to be needed to help a child to settle home successfully and to ensure their family can thrive in the long term.
We are looking to recruit a new CEO who believes in our vision that there should be “No Street Called Home” for children living on the streets in Uganda and who wants to help us to grow this impact and further change children’s lives.
Our Journey
S.A.L.V.E. International was founded in 2008 by Helen Huthwaite and Nicola Sansom. Since then, we have gone on to resettle 978 street connected children with their families. We have also supported 378 young people through education, rehabilitated over 1000 street connected children at our Residential Centre and initiated 495 small businesses to support families. Over the years, our advocacy work has included being part of Small Charity Week in the UK parliament, and being part of a delegation to the UN with the Consortium for Street Children.
Today we employ 4 staff in the UK and 27 in Uganda. Our annual turnover is approximately £300k. New developments in our work include sports programming and a very promising tailoring course. We are well on track to achieve our 2022-27 strategic goals - reaching more children, expanding support for girls, strengthening families and improving our funding sustainability.
Looking forward, the demand for our services continues to grow, whilst charities in general are facing a very difficult financial position. We are looking for a Chief Executive Officer who will consolidate and develop existing initiatives and continue to diversify our provision. They must be able to enhance our efforts to improve our long-term financial sustainability. Working in collaboration with the Board, they will develop our next strategic plan in line with our vision and values.
Job Purpose
● To be a visionary who drives forwards and maximises the impact of the organisation. Working with the Board of Trustees to ensure that a strong vision with clear strategic planning is in place for the organisation to best benefit our service users.
● To work with the Ugandan and UK team to develop and improve our existing programmes of work for the organisation to best benefit our service users.
● To oversee the budget, finance and risk management of the organisation.

Key Activities
The following activities are intended as a guide to the main responsibilities of the post and are not an exhaustive list of duties and tasks. STRATEGY
- Lead the organisation by working collaboratively with our global team of staff, volunteers, and board members to ensure a strong strategic plan is in place, which is reviewed and improved over time to maximise the organisation’s impact.
FUNDRAISING
- Leading and championing our fundraising strategy. Helping to develop our one off and regular financial supporters through finding new opportunities and networks, giving talks, ensuring quality timely communications, and reporting to existing supporters.
- Supporting and co-working with our Development Manager to research new application prospects, and helping to maintain and develop the income from our existing network of corporate, organisational and Trust and Foundation partnerships and donors. This includes writing and reviewing funding applications and reports as needed.
- Lead on the drafting of larger or multi-year funding applications, with support from the Development Manager to finalise.
FINANCE
- Overseeing the budget and financial management of the organisation to ensure the organisation’s long term sustainability and sound financial management, including creating the annual budget for approval by the UK Board.
- Collaboratively reviewing the charity’s financial controls and performance, including a final review of the monthly accounts (UK and Uganda), and overseeing the internal audit of our accounts with the finance committee.
- Ensuring the organisation is financially compliant according to the Charities Commission and meets all statutory requirements.
HR
- Recruiting, training, developing and managing staff and volunteers in the UK to help to build the capacity of the organisation as needed. This currently includes line managing: Ugandan Country Director, Development Manager, Communications Manager
- Support the Country Director with recruitment in Uganda.
- Creating a strong sense of team spirit and a culture of appreciation and reliability within the team by reinforcing organisation values and ensuring accountability.
GOVERNANCE
- Working closely with and supporting our UK and Ugandan boards to ensure that the governance of the organisation is strong.
- Lead on creating, reviewing, and developing policies, procedures and systems, including but not limited to ensuring quality safeguarding and risk management for the organisation.
- Ensure the organisation is appropriately prepared for potential risks
- Ensuring the organisation is compliant according to the Charities Commission and meets all statutory requirements.
COMMUNICATION
- Overseeing the communications strategy of the organisation, ensuring the website, social media, newsletters, annual report and mailings out to supporters are kept up to date by supporting our Communications Manager. This includes drafting and checking copy and promoting and marketing events and campaigns for the organisation to raise funds and awareness.
- Being an advocate for the organisation, by seeking and maximising opportunities to represent the organisation, to help raise awareness and support for the work we do and the needs of street connected children generally.
PROGRAMMES and OPERATIONS
- Leading and collaborating with the wider team to develop and improve our programmes through regular evaluation and learning reviews.
- Support the Country Director to ensure the organisation operations function smoothy, and that the strategic plan can be implemented.
PARTNERSHIPS
- Representing S.A.L.V.E. in partnerships and networks such as the Consortium for Street Children to ensure that we are making the most of funding, partnership and advocacy opportunities.
- Manage relationships with key partners in the UK and internationally, to ensure we are collaborating to achieve the greatest impact.
SAFEGUARDING
- To be the Safeguarding Lead within the organisation, and continually strengthen safeguarding as a priority in all our work.
MONITORING AND EVALUATION
- Support the Development Manager with the effective functioning of the organisations M&E system, Upshot. Ensure all team members are meeting their monitoring, evaluation and learning obligations and objectives.
SKILLS REQUIRED
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Fundraising and External Relations
- Proven and demonstrable track record of securing income from multiple sources, including Trusts and Foundations, corporate partners or institutional donors.
- Direct experience of preparing, writing, and managing significant funding applications, including multi-year or high-value proposals.
- Ability to represent an organisation confidently to donors, partners and external stakeholders, including through public speaking and networking.
Leadership and Management
- Senior leadership or management experience within the charity or social purpose sector, with evidence of leading teams, managing performance and developing organisational capacity.

Fundraising

- Previously lived or worked in Uganda, or having strong personal ties or lived experience relevant to the Ugandan context.

Prison Facilitator - Bank Staff

Do you want to join an organisation committed to addressing low literacy levels amongst people in prison?
Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led learning programmes across a number of prisons. To ensure the continuation of our programmes during times of staff absence, we are now seeking to recruit a Prison Facilitator on a bank working basis to work across the South Central region, covering HMP Aylesbury and HMP Bullingdon. Working closely with prisons and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will support with the delivery and development of our literacy and numeracy programme in the Central region, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.
Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships quickly and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. You will also have a willingness to travel, sometimes at short notice, to provide short or long term cover within the region including possible overnight stays.
This role will be prison-based. This is a bank role and so the number of days to be worked will vary and are not guaranteed. We are SIFA Fireside, the support service for any adult in Birmingham that faces homelessness. For 40 years we have supported Birmingham’s most vulnerable people through Homelessness Intervention, Prevention and Recovery services.

The Peer Support Worker Service (PSWS) is a team of individuals who work with rough sleepers across the city of Birmingham, aiming to facilitate connection, motivate and inspire, and provide a non-judgemental listening ear. The service supports individuals facing Multiple Exclusion Homelessness (MEH), empowering them to make informed choices about their lives.
The Peer Support Worker role includes street outreach across Birmingham, building trust and rapport with the rough sleeping community. Many individuals have had negative experiences with services, leading to a lack of trust and reluctance to engage. Some may also have limited experience of managing accommodation or navigating support services. The role therefore centres on developing supportive, persistent, and compassionate relationships.

Hybrid role based in our Bethnal Green office. The postholder would usually be required to work in the office a minimum of two days per week during their probation period. This can be reviewed with their Line Manager thereafter. RFUK can sponsor a Skilled Worker Visa for the successful candidate if required.
